  • Patent number: 8774384
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed that provide disposable numbers for a conference service. A disposable number is assigned to a conference bridge that is only activated for a defined period of time, after which the disposable number is disposed and deactivated. A call is received to the disposable number, and the call is routed to the conference bridge. A database is queried that associates the disposable number to a subscriber's number. Subscriber information is retrieved that describes when a conference bridge subscription is active. If the conference bridge subscription is active, then a caller is connected to the conference bridge. If the conference bridge subscription is inactive, then the caller is prompted to pay for a conference service.

  • Patent number: 8712391
Abstract: In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) participating in a server-mediated communication session maintains an identifier of the session and a list of UEs that are currently participating in the session. The UE determines to suppress its participation level in the session, and configures a member update message to include the identifier and to indicate the suppressed participation level of the UE. The UE transmits the configured member update message to each other UE currently participating in the session. In another embodiment, the UE receives a request to modify one or more of a given set of control parameters associated with the session. The UE determines whether the UE belongs to a subset of UEs that are currently participating in the session and to which permission to modify the given set of parameters is restricted. The UE selectively grants the received request based on the determination.

Abstract: A system and method for delaying delivery of teleconference access information includes at least one processor, at least one computer readable medium in communication with the processor, and at least one program module stored on the medium. The module is operative to create a teleconference notification in response to a request from a requestor device. The module can also assign a date, time, and access information for the teleconference, receive an input from the requestor device to delay delivery of the access information, and deliver the teleconference notification to at least one participant device. The teleconference notification has at least the date and time of the teleconference but not the access information. The module delays delivery of the access information to the at least one participant. For example, delivery of the access information is delayed until a predetermined time period from the assigned date and time of the teleconference.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a mobile device comprising a core phone with a detachable primary device. The core phone transfers an incoming call alert to the detached primary device by synchronizing the display frame buffer of the core phone with the display frame buffer associated with the detached primary device. A plurality of remote secondary devices can be paired with the core phone on request by said secondary devices to transfer an incoming call alert to said plurality of secondary devices and establish a connection after authorization with said detached primary device. The detachable primary device is usable by pairing with the core phone when the core phone is not used directly but remains in the vicinity. Important data in the primary device is synchronized with the core phone to avoid data loss when the primary device is accidentally dropped or lost or damaged.

  • Patent number: 8700081
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to determining whether to switch between group calls based on priority within a wireless communications system. In an embodiment, an announce message is received at a given access terminal that announces a second group session when the given access terminal is participating in the first group session. The given access terminal acquires one or more priority levels associated with one or more of the first and second group sessions. The access terminal determines whether to switch from the first group session to the second group session based on the one or more priority levels. The access terminal selectively switches from the first group session to the second group session based on the determination.
