Abstract: Systems and methods are described for managing usage of wireless network equipment in a spectrum band that is in the process of being cleared. A regulatory agency may repurpose spectrum bands and define a transition period during which current or former licensees must vacate the band. A new licensee may begin using the spectrum band subject to various regulations in effect during the transition period, such as a requirement that the new licensee not interfere with current or former licensees that have not yet vacated. A spectrum band transition management system may thus be used to manage wireless network equipment and spectrum usage during the transition period. The spectrum band transition management system allows the new licensee to track potential interference sources and their vacate dates, mitigate interference sent and received during the transition period, and engineer a network that makes efficient use of spectrum during and after the transition.

The GLL stored in the user device contains entries corresponding to the areas most recently visited by the UE, each entry including location information of a CBSD. User devices typically frequent a limited set of the same areas repetitively. Thus this maintained relatively small list provides the UE with a highly relevant set of information which can be quickly accessed without additional wireless signaling and the additional power loss associated with a typical search. When the UE desires to find and connect to a CBSD, the UE first searches its GLL for a CBSD providing coverage in its currently located area. However, if GLL search does not identify a CBSD, then the UE sends a request to a geolocation server for active CBSDs.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for automated detection of relative position among a plurality of wireless access points (WAPs) deployed in service area. An exemplary service area is the passenger cabin of a commercial airplane. The method can include transmitting a signal on a wireless channel at a fixed power level across the service area. Each WAP can measure a signal strength of the signal received from all other WAPs of the plurality of WAPs. The plurality of WAPs can share reports including signal strengths of the signal transmitted from all of the other WAPs. Each WAP can then form a matrix of measured signal strengths and measuring WAPs including the signal strength of signals transmitted by each WAP as received by all other WAPs as the measuring WAPs. The matrix can be used to determine a relative position of the plurality of WAPs based on the first matrix.

Abstract: A mobile testing system for optimizing wireless coverage in a distributed antenna system is disclosed. In some aspects, the mobile testing system includes a measurement receiver that can determine signal levels for a respective signals communicated via the distributed antenna system. A processing device of the mobile testing system can identify a subset of the signals by decoding a respective identifier encoded in each of the subset of signals. The identifiers specify that the subset of signals is targeted to at least one coverage zone in which the mobile testing system is located. A subset of signal levels is obtained by the measurement receiver that corresponds to each of the subset of signals. The processing device can generate coverage contour data based on the subset of signal levels that describes signal coverage for at least one coverage zone.
