  • Patent number: 8971833
Abstract: Electronic devices such as portable computers may contain circuits that generate radio-frequency noise. The radio-frequency noise may interfere with the operation of sensitive circuitry such as wireless communications circuitry. The circuits that generate the radio-frequency noise may include differential signal drivers that drive signals onto communications lines such as lines in a bus or output interface. A control circuit may power the drivers at an adjustable driver voltage bias level. The amount of noise that is generated by the drivers may vary as a function of the voltage bias level and may produce different amounts of noise at different wireless frequencies. Computer lid position and other factors may also influence the amount of interference that is generated. The control circuit may determine the current operating state of the device and may make voltage bias level adjustments that minimize interference between the drivers and the wireless circuitry.

Abstract: A battery cover assembly for a portable electronic device includes a base body, a battery cover, a button and an ejecting mechanism. The base body defines a first receiving groove and a second receiving groove. The battery cover includes a hook. The button is slidably attached to the base body, the button defining a latching groove and including a bar portion. The hook is releasably latched in the latching groove. The ejecting mechanism includes an ejecting member. The bar portion selectively presses the ejecting member. When the button is pressed, the hook is disengaged from the latching groove, the bar portion presses the ejecting member to force the ejecting member to eject the battery cover.

Abstract: A mobile terminal comprises a body comprising a keypad and a slider slidingly coupled to the body. The slider is configured to slide transversely with respect to the body and may comprise a display unit to display image information. The mobile terminal may further comprise a processor coupled to the slider to detect when the slider is slid from a first position to a second position and when the slider is slid from a second position to a first position. The image information may be rotated 90 degrees from a transverse orientation to a longitudinal orientation when the processor detects that the slider has been slid from the first position to the second position. Conversely, the image information may be rotated 90 degrees from a longitudinal orientation to a transverse orientation when the processor detects that the slider has been slid from the second position to the first position.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a camera on a portable electronic device such as a mobile phone is used to check whether an activation of a control on a touchscreen is intentional or not. For example, if a finger (or thumb), stylus, knuckle or other body part that is commonly used to operate a touchscreen is not detected as the cause of the control activation then it can be assumed that the activation is unintended and the action that the control is supposed to initiate can be prevented from occurring.

Abstract: A flexible board includes a flexible body and a linear conductor. The flexible body includes a first main surface and a second main surface. The linear conductor is provided at the flexible body so as to be located closer to the first main surface than to the second main surface. The flexible body is valley-folded along a line crossing the linear conductor such that the first main surface is located inside of the fold, and is mountain-folded along a line crossing the linear conductor such that the first main surface is outside of the fold. An average radius of curvature in an area where the flexible body is mountain-folded is greater than an average radius of curvature in an area where the flexible body is valley-folded.
