  • Patent number: 9101831
Abstract: A video game controller with a position sensor and a proximity sensor provides user input signals for use in determining game states. The video game controller can have a board or deck-like surface similar to that of a skateboard, and the proximity sensor can be used to determine if a user is in contact with or near the board. A video game associated with the video game controller can provide a skateboard or other game in which a skateboard and skateboarding character are responsive to a game player's manipulation of the video game controller.

  • Patent number: 9086732
Abstract: “Fusion” gestures that transition from air to surface or surface to air and interactions with graphical objects displayed on one or more display devices. Surface-to-air gestures are captured on a surface of a touch-based sensing device, and the gesture leaves the surface and enters a volumetric space adjacent to the surface, where a 3D gesture sensing system captures the gesture in 3D space. One or more objects displayed on the display device(s) are graphically shown to be manipulated by the gesture. Air-to-surface gestures are captured in the reverse manner. Different devices housed in separate housings can detect the different types of gestures. For example, a gaming terminal can detect surface gestures made on a single- or multi-touch sensitive surface while a portable electronic device in communication with the gaming terminal can detect air gestures made in a volumetric space in front of the gaming terminal.

  • Patent number: 9078585
Abstract: Disclosed is a muscle synergy analysis which comprises detecting a myoelectric signal generated at each muscle of an antagonistic muscle pair group of a subject; calculating, as time-series data, an antagonistic muscle ratio of an antagonistic muscle pair at a myoelectric signal level from a myoelectric signal detected during a predetermined motion by the subject; and conducting multi variate analysis using the antagonistic muscle ratio at each time of the time-series data as a variable to calculate a principal component including at least a first principal component having high contribution to correlation.

  • Patent number: 9075434
Abstract: A system for translating user motion into multiple object responses of an on-screen object based on user interaction of an application executing on a computing device is provided. User motion data is received from a capture device from one or more users. The user motion data corresponds to user interaction with an on-screen object presented in the application. The on-screen object corresponds to an object other than an on-screen representation of a user that is displayed by the computing device. The user motion data is automatically translated into multiple object responses of the on-screen object. The multiple object responses of the on-screen object are simultaneously displayed to the users.

  • Patent number: 9072976
Abstract: Systems and methods to update virtual trading card characteristics are described. In some embodiments, a method initiates a game played with multiple virtual trading cards, each of which represents a real-world character. Initial characteristics of each virtual trading card are determined based on historical performance data associated with the real-world character. Current performance data is accessed for each real-world character. The characteristics of each virtual trading card are updated based on the current performance data for the represented real-world character. The game is played based on the updated characteristics for the multiple virtual trading cards.

  • Patent number: 9061204
Abstract: An interactive game allows a player to play a “handclapping” game on a device with a touch screen interface (mobile phone, tablet or other such device) with a 3D model or a 2D model of an animal, a person, or any other character. The player must successfully mimic the moves of the 3D or 2D model/character to progress in the game. Specifically the player must match his moves by touching the screen with his finger or fingers with the moves made by the animal, a person, or any other character, which is also touching its appendages to specific areas of the touch screen.

  • Patent number: 9053696
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved technique for searching for a tone data set of a phrase constructed in a rhythm pattern that satisfies a predetermined condition of similarity to a rhythm pattern intended by a user. The user inputs a rhythm pattern via a rhythm input device. An input rhythm pattern storage section stores the input rhythm pattern into a RAM on the basis of clock signals output from a bar line clock output section and trigger data included in the input rhythm pattern. A rhythm pattern search section searches through a rhythm database for a tone data set presenting the highest degree of similarity to the stored input rhythm pattern. A performance processing section causes a sound output section to audibly output the searched-out tone data set.

  • Patent number: 9041520
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed in which in a conventional non-grounding man-machine interface having no reaction base on the human body and for giving the existence of a virtual object and the impact force of a collision to a person, a haptic sensation of a torque, a force and the like can be continuously presented in the same direction, which can not be presented by only the physical characteristic of a haptic sensation presentation device. In a haptic presentation device, the rotation velocity of at least one rotator in the haptic presentation device is controlled by a control device, and a vibration, a force or a torque as the physical characteristic is controlled, so that the user is made to conceive various haptic information of the vibration, force, torque or the like.
