  • Patent number: 11113888
Abstract: Dynamic virtual content(s) to be superimposed to a representation of a real 3D scene complies with a scenario defined before runtime and involving real-world constraints (23). Real-world information (22) is captured in the real 3D scene and the scenario is executed at runtime (14) in presence of the real-world constraints. When the real-world constraints are not identified (12) from the real-world information, a transformation of the representation of the real 3D scene to a virtually adapted 3D scene is carried out (13) before executing the scenario, so that the virtually adapted 3D scene fulfills those constraints, and the scenario is executed in the virtually adapted 3D scene replacing the real 3D scene instead of the real 3D scene. Application to mixed reality.

  • Patent number: 11097186
Abstract: Described herein are techniques for providing guide-assisted virtual experiences. A virtual experience operator provides participants with the opportunity to engage in virtual experiences at physical locations managed by the operator. These physical locations enable participants to engage with any of a variety of virtual realities provide by the operator—for example, participants may find them themselves in a virtual reality ghost-hunting mission, as a team of fictional soldiers on a mission to retrieve important cargo in outer space, in a horror-type experience at a deserted world's fair, within a number of arcade games, among other possible types of virtual experiences. Participants' engagement with such virtual experiences can be enhanced with the use of human “guides.” These guides represent employees or other affiliates of a virtual experience operator trained to help guide participant teams through some or all of a virtual experience and related phases at a virtual experience location.

  • Patent number: 11083971
Abstract: Real time interactive networked gaming is provided with two different classes of bookmarked online game players: “Friends” and “Rivals.” “Friends” are game players that are known personally. “Rivals” are game players who are not known personally but whom one has played against in the past in an online gaming scenario. Game software may allow chatting or other direct communication with “Friends” but not with “Rivals.” Rivals may be tracked to a limited degree so that for example it is possible to play against the Rival when he or she is online. Rivals may for example be players who you wish to track or keep track of, but in a manner that is safe for both you and the “rival.” When a player goes online again, he or she can see whether his or her Rivals are online and invite them to play another game. Inviting Rivals to play may be selectable, so an online player can invite Friends, Rivals or both to play.

Abstract: A system and method optimizes game quality by matching players for an online game to one of several virtual games. This matching process may involve filtering the players who wish to play according to various constraint minimizing criteria, packing the players into one or more virtual games to optimize game quality factors of the virtual games, and then instantiating the virtual games to actual online games played by the players. The game packing process may be iterative and may involve adding a new player into a virtual game. Game quality factor (GQF) values prior to and after the placement of the new player in the virtual game may be compared. The comparison of the GQF values may be used, at least in part to determine whether the new player is to remain in the virtual game. • Patent number: 11052311
Abstract: A trained machine learning model(s) is used to determine scores (e.g., trust scores) for user accounts registered with a video game service, and the scores are used to match players together in multiplayer video game settings. For example, sensor data received from client machines can be provided as input to the trained machine learning model(s), and the trained machine learning model(s) generates scores as output, which relate to probabilities that the game control data received from those client machines was generated by handheld devices, as opposed to having been synthesized and/or modified using software. In this manner, subsets of logged-in user accounts executing a video game can be assigned to different matches (e.g., by isolating non-human players from human players) based at least in part on the scores determined for those logged-in user accounts, and the video game is executed in the assigned match for each logged-in user account.

  • Patent number: 11056131
Abstract: A gaming headset receives a plurality of audio channels comprising game audio channels and a chat audio channel during play of a particular game. The gaming headset monitors the received audio channels for predefined words that are associated with particular sounds in a data structure, and in response to detecting predefined words, filters out at least a portion of the detected predefined words from the received plurality of audio channels. The monitoring compares sounds on the received audio channels with the particular sounds in the data structure and also performs signal analysis on the audio channels during game play to detect the occurrence of the predefined words. The filtering mutes one or more of the plurality of audio channels so that the detected occurrence of the one of the predefined words is not output via speakers of the gaming headset.
