  • Patent number: 5971863
Abstract: A golf training device including flat, web material having a transverse dimension of about 1/2 to 3 feet, and a single internal target hole having a diameter of about 4 1/4 inches. The softness, flexibility and thinness of the web material is such that, with the web material placed on a holeless surface, a golf ball rolling thereto by a putting stroke, will be only slightly impeded by both the peripheral boundary of the web material, and the circumferential boundary of the target hole.

  • Patent number: 5938537
Abstract: A golf exercise stand has a main body, two lateral plates, a sensing device, and a flagpole. The main body has a recess hole, a display screen, a groove, two lateral notches, and a rift. The flagpole has a tube inserted in the recess hole, a joint having an L-shaped block and a shaft supporting the L-shaped block, a post receiving an upper portion of the shaft, and the tube having a center hole receiving a lower portion of the shaft. A U-shaped clamp device is disposed on the L-shaped block. The U-shaped clamp device has an inner periphery groove receiving a light-emitting device and a through hole receiving a bolt. A switch is disposed on the light-emitting device. A nut engages with the bolt. Each lateral plate has a clip end engaging with the respective lateral notch, and a positioning device disposed on the lateral plate.

  • Patent number: 5897439
Abstract: An apparatus and method to enable practicing of a putting stroke on an actual green surface. A putting cup post is positioned upright in the putting cup, and a stabilizing post is put into the green surface so as to be upstanding therefrom adjacent to a putting location. An alignment cord is extended from an upper end of the stabilizing post to the upper end of the putting cup post, and an alignment cord is extended between the two posts. For a breaking putt, an alignment post is positioned to provide an initial alignment section of the cord that is aligned with the initial path of travel of the ball from the putting location along the intended putting path. The ball is placed at a putting location near the stabilizing post, and the golfer uses proper putting techniques to strike the ball, using the initial portion of the alignment cord to putt the ball in the proper direction.

  • Patent number: 5779567
Abstract: A method of instruction for improving actual play of golf, which method comprises the following steps: hitting golf balls to a golf swing touch trainer, which embraces a portably-sized, substantially flat web material having a transverse dimension about one-half foot to about three feet, a top horizontal surface, and a bottom horizontal surface generally in vertical registry with and essentially parallel to the top surface, a peripheral boundary; having a substantially thin side profile less than about 1/8 of an inch such that a golf ball can roll across the peripheral boundary from, and to, a surface on which the trainer can be placed and onto, and off, the top surface of the web material without being substantially impeded in its travel; having a dark color or shade so as to be able to simulate a hole or easily discernible area, which can be impressionable and memorable as to an aiming area to be employed in real play after use of the trainer, and having within the peripheral boundary a single internal targ

  • Patent number: 5692966
Abstract: A golf putting training device has been provided which has a housing with a generally vertical planer front for sitting on a putting surface. A non-coherent light source is mounted in the housing for projecting a light from the front across the putting surface to the face of a golf putter head from a first location on the front of the housing. A receptor for receiving reflecting light from a specular reflecting surface mounted on a golf putter head is spaced laterally a predetermined distance from the desired golf ball impact point on the putter head. The receptor is vertically spaced from the first location. A target light is provided in the front of the housing which is laterally spaced from the first location a distance equal to the predetermined distance for aligning the putter head in proper orientation for putting a golf ball toward the target light.

  • Patent number: 5607360
Abstract: The present invention provides a golf putting game apparatus for improving a player's putting skills. The golf putting game apparatus allows the player to practice putting accurately and to practice putting the ball with the correct amount of force. A scoring method for measuring the player's relative proficiency is provided. The golf putting game apparatus comprises a scoring template with opposite front and rear edges for arrangement on a putting surface such as a suitable carpet material, a putting green, or other surface suitable for putting. The scoring template includes hole marking means for marking on the putting surface a circular zone which represents a hole on a golf green, holed-out zone marking means for marking on the putting surface an elongate holed-out zone extending from the circular zone to the rear edge of the template, and scoring zone marking means for marking on the putting surface a pattern of spaced apart lines.
