Abstract: An admission and/or egress control structure for separating two areas and regulating the passage of human traffic between the two areas including a barrier adapted to be disposed between the two areas to be separated, at least one turnstile in the barrier through which unassisted ambulatory humans may easily pass from one area to the other, at least one gate in the barrier extending to the bottom thereof through which nonambulatory and assisted ambulatory humans may easily pass from one area to the other, hinges mounting the gate for movement between open and closed positions relative to the barrier, springs normally and yieldably urging the gate towards the closed position, a lock for normally locking the gate in the closed position, and a control for the lock to unlock the gate from the closed position so that nonambulatory and assisted ambulatory humans may move the gate against the springs to the open position to pass easily therethrough to move from one area to the other without traversing either the bar

Abstract: A twin-gate type turnstile in which the central barrier thereof is provided in the form of vertically staggered rows of arms extending between an opposed pair of posts, with at least terminal lengths of the fixed arms, i.e., the length portions thereof adjacent the posts extend in an arcuate course so that during the rotation of the rotors, the arms of same pass through the fixed rows of arms at about mid-length of such fixed arms thereby lessening the likelihood that a user could accidentally enter into or be caught in the space between the rotor arms and the fixed arms of the barrier if the user by mistake sought to transit the turnstile in the wrong direction or failed to exit the turnstile at the proper location.

Abstract: The premises to be protected have at least one laterally confined passage communicating therewith, such as an entrance passage, an exit passage, or both. Each passage has mounted therein at least one rotating door, of the type including a vertically oriented rotatable post and a plurality of angularly spaced elements secured to and extending radially from the post, the door being freely rotatable in a single direction to permit one person at a time to pass along the passage in the single direction. Approximately half the circumferential extent of each door is enclosed by a semi-cylindrical barrier, and a treadle or other type of depressible floor section, responsive to the weight of a person entering into the door and attempting to rotate the door in the direction opposite to such single direction, operates a locking means device preventing movement of the door in either direction so that such a person is trapped in the door or between two doors located serially along the passage.

Abstract: A revolving door assembly comprising a cylindrical vertically extended door housing, a vertically mounted door comprising a plurality of radially extended leaves connected to a central axis, and a canopy mounted above said door and integral with said housing, said canopy having mounted therein a linearly elongated radiant energy emitting device providing a rectangular, planar energy field, said device mounted in radial relation to the axis of said door and adapted upon the interruption of any portion of the energy field thereof to actuate the locking of said door in position whereby escape from a portion of said housing is prevented.

Abstract: In a barrier for bicycles of selected lengths there is provided a U-shaped obstructing unit and means at the open side of such unit preventing in cooperation with the unit the passage of bicycles of a predetermined length.
