  • Patent number: 11352828
Abstract: A system for controlling one or more motorized windows. The motorized windows each have a processor, a network device and wireless transmitters enabling connection via a network. The network is controlled by one or more mobile devices which receive user input. The mobile devices wirelessly connect to a local area network (LAN) via a hub. One or more hubs are connected via the LAN. The motorized windows are networked via a personal area network (PAN). The hubs convert the LAN protocol to the PAN protocol. Sensors send sensor data along with real time weather data to the processor. The processor uses this sensor data to update charts and schedules in memory, then sends commands to the controller based on these updated charts and schedules according to user defined and factory set parameters. The system includes both local and cloud-based control.

Abstract: A window pane is mounted in a closed position outside a window frame, commonly referred to as a frameless window, and is movable into open positions parallel to the closed position. The window pane can be slid into a fully open position. Sliding mechanisms are attached to the window pane. Swing arms connect the sliding mechanisms to the window frame. Control arms also connect the sliding mechanisms to the window frame. They determine the distance of and control the translation of the window pan from the closed position to the initial open position. A handle is attached to at least one of the sliding mechanisms or window pane. Latching mechanisms secure the handle in the open positions. The invention is designed so that a plurality of screens allows air flow through the window frame, preventing passage of insects or debris through the window frame.

The button cap telescopically slides in the bracket and has an end extending through the lock hole. The main shaft slides in the bracket, engages with the button cap and extends into contact with the cam. The cam engages the lock lever to cause locking of the latch assembly when the button cap is pushed.

Abstract: A window safety and security device detects unauthorized movement of a double-hung window upon which the device is installed and communicates an alarm in response to the detecting. The device includes a single, high-powered suction cup with a housing configured to be removably attached to an inside glass pane of a first sash of the double-hung window formed with a first and a second sash, a first electrical switch including an actuator that toggles the switch contacts between an open or non-conducting state to a closed or conducting state when armed (powered) in a case where part of the window contacts and depresses the actuator. The device also includes a light or buzzer, which are activated when the first switch is caused to conduct. Preferably, a second electrical switch is included for “arming” and “disarming” the device.

Abstract: A door support assembly for a motor vehicle is described. Generally speaking, the assembly includes a pin with a tapered section and being attached to the vehicle door, a passage with a mating surface for the tapered section fixed to the vehicle, and a latching mechanism configured to pull the vehicle door inward when engaged. When the latch mechanism is engaged, the assembly provides zero-gap with the door frame. The pin is tapered to a degree that it does not become wedged within the passage as the result of an explosive event.

Abstract: A window has a frame and a movable sash mounted within the frame. The sash is formed from interconnected lineals bounding a glazing unit with at least one of the lineals being a sash rail made of a substantially hollow extrusion. A sash lock is mounted to the sash rail by means of a pair of toggle anchors projecting from the sash lock into the sash rail. A corresponding pair of lock screws is driven through the toggle anchors causing them to spread apart within the rail to form a mechanical lock that fixes the sash lock securely to the sash rail. More broadly, a component is anchored to an extrusion, which may be substantially hollow, with toggle anchors extending through holes in the extrusion and being spread apart within the holes by a screw.

Abstract: A vent stop is installed into a window/door to limit travel therein of a sash member, and being particularly adapted to permit ease of its installation, especially into a wooden door/window. The stop incorporates multiple retention features to inhibit the stop's removal, once properly installed. The retention features include a wedge-shaped protrusion located at a distal end of the stop housing, which engages the wood of the window opening when pivotally installed therein, to secure a first end of the stop. The opposite end of the stop may be redundantly secured. A first feature for securing the opposite end may comprise one or more arcuate flanges on housing side walls, flanges being adapted to unidirectional movement so as to permit its movement relative to the window opening during installation, but thereafter deterring counter-pivotal motion that would allow removal of the vent stop. A second feature comprises a deformable spring clip.
