Abstract: An easily foldable fitted sheet is disclosed, made of a flat top section with a backside of fabric flat against a backside of the flat bottom section joined together at their outlining edges. The flat top section is an inelastic rectangular sheet of fabric sewn all around at the outlining edges to the flat bottom section which is an elastic rectangular frame of fabric with no middle center and only one seam. The top portion can be made of an elastic material. When the fitted sheet's flat bottom section is stretched over any mattress it forms the side panels giving a tight fit and grips the underside of the mattress with the silicone beading or strip that is adhered to the inside edge of the bottom section. When the sheet is released from the mattress the bottom section's elastic material retains its flat rectangular shape and lies flat for ease of folding and storage.

The pocket 102 is configured to fit inside the negative space of the bed to keep the negative space of the bed clean. For ease of manufacturing, the bedding 100 is made from three separate sheets that are strategically cut and fastened together.

An upper edge sheet strip is attached to the top sheet along a lateral edge of the top sheet such that the length of the upper edge sheet is coupled with the lateral edge of the top sheet. The width of the upper edge sheet strip is defined such that at least a portion of the upper edge sheet strip extends orthogonally to the surface of the mattress so as to stretch over a portion of a side of the mattress. The second end includes an elastic cord with which, when the fitted bed sheet is placed on the mattress, the fitted bed sheet captures a corner of the mattress.

The first bedding layer includes a top end, a bottom end, and a plurality of first fasteners disposed along the bottom end. Likewise, the flexible base layer includes a top end, a bottom end, and a plurality of anchoring fasteners disposed along the bottom end. The plurality of anchoring fasteners of the flexible base layer are configured to couple to the plurality of first fasteners of the first bedding layer so as to limit movement of the first bedding layer with respect to the mattress.

Abstract: A fitted mattress covering includes a body and an elastic strip. The body includes an upper surface and a side portion extending therefrom. The upper surface and the side portion together define a cavity therebetween shaped to receive a mattress. The side portion defines a lower edge of the body. The elastic strip is attached to the lower edge of the body and extends across and/or around a portion of the cavity. The elastic strip includes an inwardly-facing surface facing into the cavity and an outwardly-facing surface facing away from the cavity. At least part of one or both of the inwardly-facing surface and/or the outwardly-facing surface includes a non-slip portion. The non-slip portion is configured to generate a higher coefficient of friction with an adjacent surface than the elastic strip would provide without the non-slip portion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a flat-fold fitted sheet with elastic around the entire perimeter, allowing it to fit snugly to the mattress yet fold easily in its open form. The flat fold fitted sheet includes a string attached to the elastic, which provides a means for releasing the elastic into the casing to achieve the flat form and a means of pulling the elastic out of the casing to resume the fitted form. In the fitted form, the elastic is tethered at the corners and excess string is wound around a spindle, which may be contained in a pocket when the sheet is in use. Zippers on each corner provide traditional pockets that fit snugly to the mattress when in the fitted form but enable the sheet to lay flat when in the open position. When both zippers and elastic are in the open position, the sheet lays completely flat and is therefore easy to fold and store.

At least two arms of the inverted V shaped segment are attachable diagonally along the surface of the sheet respectively. The horizontal elastic strip is extendable laterally along a surface of the fitted sheet. The resultant force generated by the elastic band and the plurality of gripping elements enhances gripping of the fitted sheet and prevents crumpling and dog ear formation during usage.

The repositioning apparatus includes a sheet with an upper surface and an opposing lower surface and defines an outer periphery that has opposing side edges. The upper surface of the sheet has an upper surface material, and the lower surface of the sheet has a lower surface material that is formed from a relatively low-friction material as compared to the upper surface material. The handles are disposed along the opposing side edges of the sheet, and the strap members are attached to the sheet and distributed across both opposing side edges. Each of the strap members includes a strap portion that forms a bight in the strap member.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for manipulating a covering such as a bed sheet are provided. The apparatus, in one form, includes a proximal grip portion and a distal covering engaging portion including a plurality of spaced-apart protrusions for engaging with corresponding spaced-apart openings in the covering. The apparatus includes end stop portions adjacent to the protrusions for limiting how far the protrusions may extend through the openings in the covering. A tool receiving portion of the covering may take the form of a pocket or spaced-apart openings that are located in at least one corner portion of the cover. The installation tool engages with the openings in the covering to manipulate the cover and reduces the need to bend over or crouch down to reach around or underneath the mattress when placing the sheet about the mattress.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology for reducing humidity (i.e., moisture) and/or heat within and/or adjacent a patient support mattress, without requiring any electrical power. A spacer fabric is used to create a non-crushable area of support below a patient's core area, where moisture and heat more commonly buildup. Integrated air cells in the mattress have resilient elements such as open-celled foam interiors. The air cells are connected by air tubing to the spacer fabric, and the mattress is otherwise vented externally from the spacer fabric. As a result, the patient's movement causes air to be expelled from or drawn into the air cells, which in turn results in air movement in the spacer fabric below a patient or user, resulting in cooling effects by removing moisture and/or heat, all without requiring external or internal electrical power.

Abstract: A fitted sheet which will fit both a standard-size twin mattress and an XL-size twin mattress without undue wrinkling or bunching of fabric is disclosed. This fitted sheet has a top panel, a first side panel attached to the top panel, a second side panel attached to the top panel, a front panel attached to the top panel, the first side panel and the second side panel, and a rear panel attached to the top panel, the first side panel and the second side panel. An elastic strip is proved near each corner or near two corners at one end of the fitted sheet. The elastic strips are oriented lengthwise on the fitted sheet and allow the fitted sheet to stretch and contract only in a lengthwise direction.

Abstract: A beach blanket for use on the sand that resists being blown around by the wind. It comprises a main panel of fabric that the user can lay upon. On the bottom side of the main panel is a plurality of scoops that can be anchored by digging into the sand prior to use. Scoops are anchored at opposing points so that tension is applied to the main panel. If sand is blown onto the top of the main panel a point on the top of the main panel may be plucked thereby ejecting the sand off of the side of the main panel.

Abstract: A cord with an outer fabric covering over a sheath and draw string is used to secure a sheet to a bed. The cord has a series of clips attached there-to by a second cord or by direct attachment. The clips are in turn removably attachable to edges of a sheet. One then tightens the draw string, reducing the length of the cord, and continues to do so until the sheet is pulled to a bottom side of the mattress. In this manner, the sheet ends are beneath the mattress and tightened thereto by the cord. The cord further snaps to itself, in embodiments of the disclosed technology, to form a closed loop around the bed.

The body includes an upper panel and a side skirt extending outwardly away from the upper panel to define a free edge opposite the upper panel. The peripheral elastic cord is coupled to and extends substantially coextensively with the free edge. The corner elastic bands are each formed separately from one another. Each of the corner elastic bands is positioned nearer the peripheral elastic cord than the upper panel.

In one aspect the cover includes a hem configured to extend under the edges of the box spring, and where the triangular panel is off-set from the edges of the box spring. The hem is configured to have a concealed edge that operates to catch upon a bottom edge of the foundation to secure the sides of the cover into position so as to withstand a housekeeping action applied to the bedding such as tucking in bedding between a mattress and the foundation. A method of manufacture includes stretching the stretchable panel prior to sewing onto adjacent hems.

The portion without elastic is wider than the portion with elastic, and defines a pocket part. A first end of the mattress is inserted into the pocket part. The pocket part holds the mattress securely while the elasticized portion is stretched and slipped over the remainder of the mattress. The pocket part not only allows for easier insertion of the mattress into that part, but also serves as a visual index that allows the user to easily identify which part of the sheet goes on which part of the mattress.

Abstract: A fitted sheet for mattresses that is a combination of any known manufacturing of fitted sheets with the addition of four flexible panels to the bottom corner hem instead of traditionally used elastic cords, straps or bands. The addition of the panels form a pocket around each mattress corner. The hem on the bottom of the fitted sheet corners that would typically secure an elastic band instead secure the flexible panels. A single, or multiple hem may be used as needed to best support the panel while attaching it to any variety of fitted sheets. Multiple stitching techniques may also be used. The flexible panels are introduced to create a more snug fit on the mattress and more evenly distribute the stress applied to the fabric than current versions that are available on the market.

The expandable means may be adjusted to fit mattresses of different thicknesses inside the expandable mattress cover. A fastening means with a hook is adjusted to open the opening before inserting a mattress into the compartment. The mattress is secured in position by adjusting the fastening means to a closed position. The hook is used to clip the expandable means and the fastening means onto the side wall.

Abstract: A fitted blanket fits over a mattress and secures underneath to prevent the blanket from moving off the user while sleeping in bed. The blanket can include an elastic material on at least the underside corner edges thereof. Children and adults alike can stay warm at night as their blankets cannot fall away or off of them while sleeping. The fitted blanket may further include an opening and closing mechanism to allow for easy entry and exit, rather than having to untuck the blanket, as is the case with conventional blankets. The opening and closing mechanism may also provide an easy way to make the bed. The fitted nature of the blanket prevents blanket slippage or movement. The blanket may further include a cut-out region for pillow placement. The blanket can also include glow-in-the-dark elements or illuminated elements to light up the blanket at night.

The holding apparatus includes an elastic cord having a flexible configuration and opposed cord ends, the cord extending through the interior space of the cord channel and respective cord ends extending outwardly through respective open ends. A pair of cord fasteners is attached to respective cord ends and, when coupled together, tightens a respective corner section to the mattress.

Abstract: An article of bedding for disposition over the top, side and end surfaces of a mattress comprises a substantially inelastic web of textile material which includes a top panel, side and end panels, and corner seams. The article further comprises a stretchable corner member overlying each corner seam, an additional seam aligned axially with each corner seam, and a stretchable border member secured to the peripheral edges of the side panels. This construction allows the article to accommodate the contours of mattresses of varying thicknesses within each given peripheral mattress size classification. Methods of making such articles are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention is a bedding apparatus, to be used with a conventional mattress. The bedding's bottom layer is fitted, so as to fit snugly around a mattress. The bottom layer is connected to the top layer by an attachment device, preferably two zippers. The top layer extends over three edges of the bottom layer, so as to appear aesthetically pleasing and provide comfort to the user. The zippers allow a user to easily and quickly make up the bed after sleeping in the bedding. It also functions to keep the top layer from falling off of the bed while sleeping and facilitates the user in weekly changing of the bed.

Abstract: A rapid bed making system and method includes a first sheet for securing to a mattress and a “T” shaped second sheet. Cooperating releasable fasteners are affixed to the top surface of the first sheet and to the bottom surface of a first panel of the second sheet. After the first panel of the second sheet is aligned and pressed together with the top surface of the first sheet, a second confluent panel of the second sheet sized to be the same length as the first panel, and with left and right side mattress overlay extensions, is brought up and over the first panel. The first sheet remains in place. The “T” shaped sheet is removed for washing and subsequent reinstallation. Sheet changing of bunk beds and beds with limited access to one or more sides is simplified especially for the elderly and/or disabled.

The fitted bed sheet has a first section constructed primarily of non-stretch material and a second section sewn to the foot of the first section that is constructed primarily of non-elastic stretch material. The present invention increases user comfort, can be processed in commercial laundries, reduces the labor of making the bed, is easier to fold, and has a longer useful life than fitted sheets constructed with elastic stretch material. The fitted bed sheet can be washed, ironed, and folded automatically. The present invention may be used in institutional or private settings.
