Abstract: A foam seating article includes a layer of molded foam surrounding a hollow shell made of hard plastic. A fabric covering encloses the shell and molded foam. The foam seating article can take the form of a chair, stool, sofa, chaise lounge, bench or Ottoman. The hollow shell can be formed using blow molding, injection molding or by capping both ends of a tube with disks. Air pressure inside the airtight hollow shell prevents the shell from collapsing inwards under the weight of an occupant. Alternatively, the hollow shell of the seating article can be accessed through a removable lid. The seating article includes no wood or metal. The layer of molded foam includes sections of different foam types, such as high density (HD) foam, memory foam and latex foam. Molding foam around a hard plastic shell is simpler and less costly than making conventional metal or wood framed furniture.

Abstract: A personal support apparatus includes a frame having an inner surface for supporting a forehead of a user while seated in a forward-leaning position. The frame has a hollow central region to receive the user's face when the user is seated in the forward-leaning position. A pair of cheek support bodies are disposed on the inner surface of the frame. Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for employing aromatherapy and binaural sounds for inducing a state of relaxation in a user who may be anxious, upset, or experiencing sleeping difficulties. The apparatus comprises a shape memory foam pillow, a pair of stereo speakers, an aromatherapy diffuser, a pillowcase comprised of heat-transfer fabric, an optional vibrating device, a canopy and a housing to support these elements. The user connects a smartphone or digital audio device to the speakers, activates the aromatherapy diffuser and the vibrating device, and lays his or her head down on the pillow beneath the canopy. Ideally, the smartphone or music device should have a meditation or binaural sound application, which would be tuned to a specific beat frequency, such as 10 Hertz. The combined action of essential oil vapors and binaural sounds should enable the user to relax or sleep more soundly.

A top section has an indentation for resting a user's head and neck. It has a dedicated air value which can be used to inflate it. A middle section is used for supporting a user's back. It does not have a dedicated air valve. It is sealed from the top section. No air flows between it and the top section. A bottom section has an articulated portion that protrudes out to provide support for a user's lumbar section of the back. It is connected to the middle section and has one or more passage ways for air to flow between the two sections. The bottom section has an air valve that allows a user to inflate it and in doing so also inflate the middle section.

Abstract: The present invention provides devices for neck support and correction, for example, pillows, headrests, or cushions, designed to be placed under the head and neck of a person lying in a supine or side-lying position. Such devices are useful for maintaining or improving cervical and/or thoracic spinal curvature and/or alignment and for reducing pain associated with ailments of the neck or cervical vertebrae. Also provided are methods of improving cervical spinal alignment and for treating or ameliorating ailments of the neck or cervical vertebrae.

Abstract: A pillow for sleeping on one's side that comfortably accommodates the user's shoulder by having an indentation at a middle section of the pillow. The indentation is created by a first interior face and a second interior face that tapers inwardly towards a center axis from lateral sides of the pillow. The first and second interior faces also taper from a top side towards the bottom side of the pillow. The indentation can be replicated on the opposite side so that the pillow can be reversible.

Abstract: An orthopedic pillow comprises a padded member which has a hard block fully inserted inside. The padded member is made of resilient materials. The padded member's shape is roughly similar to that of a rectangular or hexagonal block; however, if looked right from its right or left side, the padded member has a symmetric or asymmetric bell shape. The length of the long side of the padded member is roughly equal to an adult's body's width. The hard block is made of non-resilient material. The hard block is able to tolerate, without rupturing and/or deformation, the gravity force on a mass of about 140 kg with a shape and size similar to those of a person's body. The shape of the hard block and of the padded member are similar, and their dimensions are proportional. The length of the long side of the hard block is also roughly equal to an adult's body's width. Both the padded member and the hard block have a flat bottom side.

Abstract: A support pillow with dual infant support pillows that can be configured in a face-to-face or opposing position and, alternately, in a side-by-side flanking position. Two C-shaped pillow segments are joined on one side by a hinge or joint. When the joint is open, the adjoining arms are generally co-linear. When the support pillow is folded at the joint, the two adjoining arms of the C-shaped pillow segments are adjacent and generally parallel. A supportive body wrap may be included for one or both pillow segments. The support pillow may also serve as a body or maternity pillow for a single adult. Additionally, the joint allows the pillow to be folded for use as a study or lounging pillow for an adult or older child. Still further, the pillow can be used as a nursing pillow with attached back support for mothers and caregivers.

The layered mediation sitting cushions and mats combine a slow recovery visco-elastic foam (“VEF”), having load deformation properties and densities, with one or more base layers of a batting support. The sitting cushions and mats enable a person seated in traditional meditative positions to achieve a comfortable posture, regardless of the meditator's size or weight. The sitting cushions and mats also allow people to meditate in traditional cross-legged or kneeling postures comfortably, without irritation or pain. The mediation sitting cushions and mats also maintain of the pelvis in a neutral or slightly anterior position, resulting in proper alignment of the pelvis and spine, which minimizes the muscular and ligamentous strain caused by sitting in stillness for long periods of time.

Abstract: A bi-elevation pillow system for allowing two users to lie side by side with each of their heads respectively positioned at a different elevation by using the pillow system has a base pillow member with a general shape of a rectangular prism. The base pillow member has a cavity with a cushion component located inside. The system has a secondary pillow member with a general shape of a rectangular prism with a cavity having a cushion component located inside. In a first position for storage, the base pillow bottom surface is rotated against and interfaces with a secondary pillow bottom surface. In a second position for use, the secondary pillow is rotated about a hinge 180 degrees in an open configuration and placed on a ground surface for use.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pillow, which aids a user to sleep soundly when the user is lying on the back, and makes breathing easier and helps stimulate the acupuncture points on the face when the user is lying on the stomach and rests the face on the pillow. To this end, the present invention comprises: a main body; a neck support part, which is formed in the longitudinal direction at the front side of the main body and has a height higher than the height of the main body; a ventilation hole, which penetrates the center of the neck support part into the center of the main body; an incline support part, which is provided on the main body in contact with the ventilation hole, and has a gradual decline towards the ventilation hole; and an acupuncture point stimulation part provided in a protruding manner on the ventilation hole side of the neck support part.

Abstract: An integrated padded mesh material may be used in pillows or pillowcases for improved air flow around a user of the pillow or pillowcase during rest. When used in a pillow, the material may substantially cover the side of the pillow that a user's head rests upon. Other materials, such as mesh and satin materials, may be used to complete construction of the pillow. The pillow may take on familiar shapes, such as a dog. When the integrated padded mesh material is used in a pillowcase the pillowcase may be wrapped around a conventional pillow to increase air flow during rest. The pillowcase may include several layers such as the integrated padded mesh material and an allergy-blocking fabric.

In one embodiment, a cushioned saddle-shaped neck support is positioned at an upper end of a moveable support structure. A lower part of the support structure is movably supported by a surface on which a person's body can be positioned. The person's body is positioned on this surface with his neck over the neck support. As the person's neck comes into contact with the neck support, the weight of the person's head and/or neck pushes down on the neck support, which moves down and away from the person's shoulders to provide the desired tension and orientation.

Abstract: A reconfigurable support pillow comprising an elongate center section with a short, curved arm on each end. Between each of the arms and the center section is a substantially flat connecting section with inwardly curved side edges. This shape allows the pillow to be placed into several configurations. In a first configuration, the center section is bent and the connecting sections overlap each other without creating a thickened area at the point where the connecting sections cross. Additionally, the curved ends of the pillow arms can be overlapped providing an oval configuration with a double thickness at one side. Still further, the pillow can be used with the center section straight and curved arms turned inward towards each other. Each configuration provides different advantages and use. Abstract: An acupressure pillow includes pressure members that are interconnected by an elastic member and arranged so that, when the user rests a body part (e.g., head or neck) on the pillow between the pressure members, the pressure members automatically adjust to accommodate the body part and produce pressure on the body part due at least in part to the elastic member, which biases the pressure members toward one another. Thus, the pressure exerted on the body part may have different vector components, including some pressure produced essentially perpendicular to the pillow surface on which the body part rests and some pressure produced at other angles due to the shape of the pressure members and the inward force on the pressure members produced by the elastic member.

Abstract: The portable head support device of the present invention provides comfortable support for a user's head while the user is in a sitting potion. The pillow or cushion has a v-shape on the top where a user's chin can rest so that the head cannot fall forward or sideways but will stay in a comfortable and upright position. The pillow is held in place by hook and loop fasteners located on the pillow and, for instance, on straps extending from behind the user's back and over the shoulders or wraparound supports wrapped around standard seat belts. The head support can be used in child car seats to keep a child's head in a safe and stable position while they sleep.

Lateral movement and rolling of the head is prevented by two bracing supports, positioned on either side of the viscoelastic body. For comfort, a softer cover is positioned over the viscoelastic body and bracing supports, improving the cushioning and breathability of the supportive pillow. The bracing supports and cover are also viscoelastic, with them and the viscoelastic body commonly being made from viscoelastic polyurethane, e.g. memory foam. The top cushion layer includes a neck cushion attached to the top surface of the base. The top cushion layer also includes a side cushion attached to the incurved top surface of each side. The side cushions include an aperture that extends through the side cushion to form an ear cradle.
