Abstract: Emulsion paint type damping coatings show an excellent film forming property even if it leaves at low temperature from 5 to 20° C. It does not generate a defective coated film like swellings after baking drying and brings out an excellent damping performance within a range of 20 to 60° C. That is, it contains one or more than two kinds of organic chemicals within a range of 0.5% to 5% by weight in total and the MFT, the minimum film forming temperature of the entire resin emulsion is within a range of 5 to 15° C. and the boiling point for a film forming assistant is within a range of 150 to 240° C., thus, it enables to obtain an excellent film forming property at 5° C. and even in baking drying and does not generate a defective coated film like swellings as well. As a result, emulsion paint type damping coatings bring out an excellent damping performance within a range of 20 to 60° C.

Abstract: A glass fibre reinforced plastic substrate provides the mechanical strength and thermal properties for use e.g. in flat display devices. There is a trend towards flat display devices comprising flexible displays. Such display devices also need flexible substrates, and a method to produce such flexible substrates cost effectively. To make such flexible display by conventional manufacturing technologies that have been applied to produce the LCD displays, glass substrates need to be replaced with elastic substrate materials that are deformable even at room temperatures. The elastic substrate must have mechanical durability to offer flexibility desired. Now there is developed a method for producing a glass fibre reinforced plastic substrate so that the glass fibres and binding material are arranged to form a layer with a certain content of glass fibres and then the layer is arranged to be pressed to a thickness that is desirable to the substrate sheet.

Abstract: The invention provides an aqueous inkjet ink composition comprises a polymeric compound comprising discrete particles responsive to an external stimulus, and a functional material, wherein the functional material may be incorporated as part of the polymeric particles, the particles causing the composition to have a first rheological state and a different second rheological state in response to a stimulated change in conditions, the first rheological state being associated with a first lower viscosity of the composition, wherein the particles have a first lower volume, enabling the composition to pass through an inkjet printhead orifice and the second rheological state being associated with a second higher viscosity of the composition, wherein the particles have a second higher volume, enabling immobilisation of droplets of the composition on a substrate.

Abstract: A shelf-stable, one-component, water-dispersed, film-forming, thermoset resin composition, which composition is also solvent free, formaldehyde-free, and latex compatible, is disclosed. The resin is a latex dispersion formed by emulsion polymerization of monomer mixtures including one or more carboxylic acid-containing monomers and hydroxyl-containing monomers, and ideally including monomers such as styrene, butadiene, and/or acetonitrile. Monomers such as (meth)acrylates or (meth)acrylamides may be substantially absent, to avoid off-gassing volatile organic compounds when the composition is cured. The compositions can be used, for example, to prepare reinforced glass mats, insulation, and roofing shingles, used in thermosetting paper applications, or can be dried, melted and shaped at a temperature below the cure temperature, and then cured at the cure temperature. The glass transition temperatures of the polymers in the compositions can be varied over a wide range by varying the monomer composition.
