Patent number: 4189601Abstract: Ethylenically unsaturated blocked aromatic diisocyanates are prepared which readily polymerize to form homopolymers and interpolymers with copolymerizable vinylidene monomers. Polymers can be prepared via emulsion polymerization, and exhibit excellent stability to hydrolysis when stored in latex form. The polymers cure at temperatures as low as 80.degree. C., and under acidic, neutral, or basic pH conditions. Homopolymers and interpolymers of the defined diisocyanates are useful as adhesives, and interpolymers of the ethylenically unsaturated blocked aromatic diisocyanates with acrylate monomers are particularly useful as binders for nonwoven fibers.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1978Date of Patent: February 19, 1980Assignee: The B. Patent number: 4174321Abstract: The invention relates to polychromophoric dibenzoxazole compounds which have been found to be effective ultraviolet stabilizers. The invention also relates to ultraviolet degradable organic compositions containing a stabilizing amount of the polychromophoric dibenzoxazole composition to prevent such degradation. These stabilizers are effective in the presence of other additives commonly employed in polymeric compositions including, for example, pigments, colorants, fillers, reinforcing agents and the like. These ultraviolet stabilizers may also be incorporated into the organic compositions in the polymer melt or dissolved in the polymer dope, coated on the exterior of the molded article, film or extruded fiber.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1977Date of Patent: November 13, 1979Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Richard H. S. Wang, Joseph S. Zannucci

Patent number: 4172081Abstract: The invention relates to certain bichromophoric compounds which have been found to be effective ultraviolet stabilizers. The invention also relates to ultraviolet degradable organic compositions containing a stabilizing amount of a certain bichromophoric compound to prevent such degradation. These stabilizers are effective in the presence of other additives commonly employed in polymeric compositions including, for example, pigments, colorants, fillers, reinforcing agents and the like. These ultraviolet stabilizers may also be incorporated into the organic compositions such as polymers by adding to the polymer melt or dissolved in the polymer dope, coated on the exterior of the shaped or molded article, film or extruded fiber.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1977Date of Patent: October 23, 1979Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventor: David M.
