Abstract: A soft-sided insulated container that has a rigid closure. The rigid closure has a first closure interface that is a passive friction fit in which one part wipes another. The rigid closure has a second closure interface that is an active closure in which a mechanical device, such as a latch or clamp, is used positively to energize a closure between different parts of the closure. The container has a vent. The latch operates to close the vent. The soft-sided insulated container has a soft-sided external casing, and a rigid internal liner that includes a mating rigid lid. There is a releasable securement that holds the liner in engagement with the casing, but that can be released to permit the casing to be extracted from the liner. The releasable securement is a one-way passively engageable securement.

Abstract: Disclosed is a filter conditioning unit for cleaning and conditioning high-volume sampling (HVS) filters. The unit includes, among other elements, a filter tray suitable for holding one or more HVS filters, a manifold in which the filter tray is inserted, and an optional enclosure for safety. The manifold is suitable for heating the filter tray and filters therein to a desired temperature while purge gas is introduced to the manifold. Also described herein is a method of using the filter conditioning unit.

Abstract: A unique, multi-cartridge, easily re-configurable ambient air filter assembly (air contaminant control system) that removes particulate and gaseous chemical/biological contaminants from the incoming cathode air stream on a fuel cell or similar devices is described. The filter assembly is composed of individual filter cartridges (sub-assemblies) of various filtration media that are targeted at removing specific airborne contaminants. Combining specific sets of cartridges enables the filter assembly to be readily/rapidly configured (and re-configured) for specific applications—such as urban, rural, industrial, or military battlefield environments. Selection of correct media ensures complete removal of potential contaminants, enables rapid re-configuration to different environments, quick replacement of spent cartridges without disposal of non-spent media (reducing waste and cost).

Abstract: The air filter system includes a cover that is configured to secure itself adjacent to an HVAC register. The cover includes hanger members on distal ends, which hook onto screw holes of the HVAC register. The cover includes a plurality of openings forming a vent through which air is able to pass. The cover is configured to be loosely hung underneath the HVAC register such that air-conditioned air is able to blow through the cover as well as along a peripheral opening formed between the cover and the HVAC register. The cover includes a filter member that is selectively removed, and positioned in between the cover and the HVAC register. The filter has a rectangular shape that corresponds to the cover. The filter also has lipped peripheral portion that has a thickness greater than a center portion.

A method for securing gas turbine air filters includes inserting a first filter into a frame inside at least one guide and pivoting a first clamp connected to the frame to engage at least a portion of the first clamp with the first filter. The method further includes inserting a second filter into the frame inside the at least one guide and pivoting a second clamp to engage at least a portion of the second clamp with the second filter.

Abstract: An adapter is provided for placement within a furnace filter bay having a flow of air therethrough. The filter bay is for receiving a furnace filter. The adapter includes a filter abutment face for abutment with at least a portion of the furnace filter, a mounting face parallel to the flow of air and attachment means permitting removable attachment of the adapter to the furnace filter bay. The adapter allows filters of smaller depth than the filters originally designed for use within the filter bay to be used, thereby eliminating the need for purchasing the original filters. A brace is also provided for the same purpose. A kit is described that includes the adapter and/or brace, along with instructions for installation thereof within the filter bay.

A bracket with a clamping section is arranged on the carrier housing and is secured pivotally on the carrier housing by a hinge so as be pivotable between a locking position and a release position. In the locking position, the damping section of the bracket is clamped between a step on the filter housing and a step on the carrier housing and is secured in a self-locking position.

Abstract: Filter racks are disclosed that are adjustable to accommodate filters of various thicknesses. The filter racks may include an insert that can be positioned within the base of the filter rack in two or more positions to adjust the receiving width of the filter rack. A perforated tab of the insert may be unbent to position the insert within the base at a smaller width, and the tab may be bent to position the insert within the base at a larger width. The insert also may include a divider that can be positioned within the base to reduce the width of the filter rack. Further, a rotating guide may be attached to detents within walls of the filter rack compartment. The guide may be biased at various angles to accommodate filters of different widths.

The magnetic fastening strip may provide an efficient means for removably attaching the clean screen air filtration system assembly to the outside of an existing air duct manufactured from a metallic material. In one embodiment, the housing assembly includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet and an access port. A bagging ring is disposed around the access port and includes a material having a property that enhances the bag-to-bagging ring seal. Examples of materials that have a property that enhance the bag-to-bagging ring seal include materials that are attracted to a plastic bag, materials that are tacky, materials that have a static attraction to a plastic bag.
