  • Patent number: 10391932
Abstract: An illumination unit for a vehicle component of a vehicle includes a housing and at least one light source that emits light through a light diffusion component and a light-deflecting film. The light-deflecting film is adapted to conform to an exterior contour of a vehicle component. The light-deflecting film closes the housing and has an inner side and an outer side, with the inner side closer to the light source than the outer side. The light-deflecting film has a microstructure on the outer side that deflects light emitted by the light source in a direction that differs from the angle of incidence of the emitted light at the inner side of the light-deflecting film.

Abstract: This is a handheld eye flushing apparatus that comprises an eyecup that holds eyewash liquid in it for eye flushing. The rim of the eyecup is contoured to the eye orbit and rests on the eye orbital area. Attached to the inside of the eyecup is a stirring mechanism that stirs the eyewash liquid during usage. The force and duration of the stirring is predetermined to prevent eye damage. This apparatus accommodates the free movement of the eyelids and the eyeball inside the eyecup during utilization. The rim of this eyecup may have a liner to further increase comfort and liquid sealing around the eye. A magnetic strip may be placed near the bottom part of the rim to catch ferrous metal particles in industrial environment usage. A grid may be added between the rim and the agitator to keep the user away from the agitator.

  • Patent number: 6033389
Abstract: An eye medicament dispensing device utilizing a container having a chamber for storing air. The container possesses an outlet for passing the air from the container. A cup structure, connected to the container, is fitted over the eye and has an open cavity formed by a base, a wall portion extending from the base, and a terminal continuous edge portion. The terminal continuous edge portion is intended for contacting and holding open the upper and lower eyelids. The eye cup structure also is formed with an outer surface, an inner surface, and an opening or bore therebetween. The opening is positioned at the base of the eye cup and is surrounded by indicia on the inner surface of the eye cup at a selected distance from the base opening. The indicia essentially surrounds the base and may take the form of a continuous design or an interrupted design. Medicament is guided from the container through the opening in the base of the eye cup toward the eye held in the eye cup by the use of an orifice.

  • Patent number: 5921444
Abstract: A discharge apparatus, or medium dispenser, has an annular contact surface, face or edge for contacting a surface or object to be sprayed by a medium dispensed from a discharge nozzle spaced therefrom. The contact surface, face or edge can, for example, engage the eye socket around the eye of a patient, the eyelids being eccentrically widened by pressure loading. The contact surface, face or edge is located at the end of the jacket of a cap body into which the medium is discharged by the nozzle. The jacket elastically gives way over part of its length by reason of transverse openings on its circumference and/or bottom. The openings permit a locally, precisely defined incidence of light on the area to be sprayed, and provide non-uniform stiffness.
