In some embodiments, at least one of the luer tip and the internal member can be axially moveable between a first closed position and a second open position relative to the other of the luer tip and the internal member. Further, the luer tip and the internal member can cooperate such that rotation of the luer tip in a first direction relative to the housing increases an axial displacement between the first open end of the luer tip and an end portion of the internal member.

Abstract: An electrode loop assembly for a catheter includes a form wire shaped as a loop, an activation wire coupled to the form wire, and a support tube defining a lumen and enclosing the form wire and the activation wire therein. The activation wire is operable to selectively vary a diameter of the loop, and is routed along a radial inner side of the form wire. The support tube extends along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end, and has an oblong cross-section having a major axis. The support tube is twisted about the longitudinal axis such that an orientation of the major axis changes along a length of the support tube.

  • Patent number: 11399844
Abstract: A medical device holding assembly includes a carrier sheath, which carries an endoluminal medical device such as an embolization coil. The assembly also includes a housing including at least one holding element to hold the sheath, and a fixation device attached to the housing and coupled to the sheath. The fixation device includes a locking element having an unlocked configuration, which allows the sheath to slide relative to the housing, and a locked configuration, which fixes the sheath to the housing. A lock actuator is configured to lock permanently the locking element into the locked configuration. As a result, the sheath with the medical device held therewithin cannot be removed from the holding assembly during the deployment procedure, thereby ensuring that the procedure can be carried out by a single person and also protecting the integrity of the medical device before it is deployed into a patient.

  • Patent number: 11395870
Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems, apparatuses, and methods for operating the systems and apparatuses are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a negative pressure source, a connector port, at least one switch, and a controller. The negative pressure source is connected through the connector port to either (i) a wound dressing having a canister configured to store fluid aspirated from the wound or (ii) a wound dressing without a canister between the connector port and the wound dressing. The controller determines, based on a signal received from the at least one switch, whether the canister is positioned in the fluid flow path and adjusts one or more operational parameters of negative pressure wound therapy based on the determination. The switch is activated by the connection of either the canister or canisterless wound dressing to the apparatus.
