Combination Operable Only Patents (Class 70/119)
  • Patent number: 11398395
Abstract: A door of a substrate container includes a latching mechanism for operating at least two latch members. The substrate container can be a front opening substrate container or a bottom opening substrate container. The latching mechanism can include a rotatable cam having a first rotational profile out of phase with a second rotational profile such that when the cam is rotated to operate the latch mechanism from the disengaged position to the engaged position, a first latch member engages a first corresponding slot in a door frame prior to a second latch member engaging a second corresponding opening provided in the door frame such that the latch members are operated in a staggered manner. This staggered latching configuration allows for the application of a load provided by the system to be used in the most efficient manner per latch arm or per set of latch arms.

  • Patent number: 9103419
Abstract: The radially engaging systems includes a housing having at least one guide channel formed therein. At least one sliding member is slidably received in the guide channel to selectively extend or retract therein in order to connect and lock mechanical components together. Each sliding member is provided with an elongate follower. A rotator is operatively mounted to the housing. The rotator includes at least one guide curve based upon an Archimedian spiral. The follower rides inside the guide curve. Selective rotation of the rotator converts the rotation into linear movement of the connected sliding member. Conversely, selective linear movement of the sliding member converts the same into rotation of the rotator.

  • Patent number: 4468943
Abstract: A live bolt lock mechanism for a safe door uses a rotatable idler 15 in a middle region of the door. A plurality of live bolts 20 spaced around the door each has a connecting rod 19 joined to the idler 15 at crank locations for operating the live bolts. A handle 25 is mounted between the idler and the opening edge of the door, and a combination lock 30 is mounted beside the idler. An actuator 27 rotated by the handle moves an actuator link 31 connected to the idler for rotating the idler when the handle turns. A lock link 50 mounted on the idler and extending toward the combination lock 30 has a projection disposed adjacent the combination lock to block the lock link and idler from movement unless a combination for the lock is fulfilled.

  • Patent number: 4393790
Abstract: A safe door assembly comprising a door casing, a door, a plurality of locking bolts operated by a combination lock so as to be selectively extended outwardly from or retracted inwardly into said door to lock or unlock, respectively, the door to the casing; the casing including a seat to accomodate a shoulder on a door and a recess to receive each of the outwardly extending locking bolts, the door having a combination lock with a retractable tongue directly connected to one locking bolt and also connected via a sliding link bar and lever means to the remaining locking bolts in such a fashion that all bolts extend and retract simultaneously; a pivotable relocking bar spring biased to pivot into a position which prevents movement of the sliding link bar and thereby prevents retraction of the locking bolts when the combination lock is displaced inwardly from its normal position; the assembly also comprising a hardened steel barrier protecting the outer extremities of said locking bolts from access by a drill, a h

  • Patent number: 4342207
Abstract: In a safe locking mechanism including a spindle which rotates a cam plate to extend or withdraw a plurality of locking bolts, a novel relock mechanism includes a floating hard plate interposed between the inside surface of the safe door and the cam plate. A plurality of springs are disposed between the interior surface of the safe door and the floating hard plate to bias the hard plate toward the cam plate. Each of the locking bolts includes a chordal notch therein to engage the edge of the hard plate and prevent retraction of the locking bolts. The cam plate includes raised camming rails which engage raised buttons on the hard plate, so that rotation of the camming plate releases the hard plate from the notches in the locking bolts and permits the bolts to be withdrawn only by rotation of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4233913
Abstract: The safe door comprises a circular body with a recess formed in one face defining a cylindrical wall. This wall has radial bores passing therethrough for guiding locking bolts received in the bores between extended locked positions and retracted open positions. A cam plate is positioned in the recess and includes peripheral cam slots coupled to the inner ends of the bolts. The arrangement is such that rotation of the cam plate between first and second positions will retract and extend the bolts simultaneously. Features of the invention include providing a central opening in the cam plate with notches so that the same can be driven between its first and second rotated positions by a cam plate driver centrally located which driver in turn supports the combination lock components.

  • Patent number: 4147044
Abstract: The improved safe door locking arrangement includes a pair of oppositely extending dovetail locking bolts. The locking bolts are eccentrically attached to a crank wheel and are actuated responsive to rotation of the wheel. The wheel is spring loaded for easier operation. In the extended or locked position, a combination lock controlled bolt locks the dovetail bolts in their extended condition. A further feature is a safety bolt which in turn locks the combination lock controlled bolt in the locking position, if attempts are made to dislodge the combination lock.

  • Patent number: 4127995
Abstract: A multiple bolt combination lock with a combination dial having a shaft rotatable with the dial and extending through a wheel post and a bottom pan to engage locking wheels having gates which can be aligned by manipulation of the wheel. The bottom pan is fixed to a top pan having a plurality of locking rods pivotably attached thereto at a distance from the center of rotation so that rotation of the pans in one direction causes the rods to retract and rotation in the opposite direction causes the rods to advance. When the gates are aligned, a lever arm mounted on the bottom pan pivots under the urging of a spring into a position latching the dial and pans together for rotation. When the dial is rotated in a direction so as to advance the rods into a latching position, a cam on the wheel post which extends through a slot in the bottom pan engages the lever arm to pivot that arm out of the gates after the rods are in the latching position.
