  • Patent number: 8777511
Abstract: A system and method for temporarily hindering the ability of a vehicle to be driven. A locking assembly is provided that has arms and a trigger release. At least one spring element is provided for biasing the arms into a locked configuration. The arms are cocked into the open configuration against the bias of the spring element. When the trigger release is activated, the arms automatically spring back to the locked configuration. An elongated application pole is provided that is used to propel the locking assembly a wheel of the vehicle. The contact activates the trigger release and causes the arms to move into the locked configuration and mechanically engage the wheel. Once the locking assembly is locked onto the wheel, the wheel is inhibited from turning and the vehicle becomes disabled.

The host entity has a data base which is uploaded with this information and has correlation of RFID tag numbers to an unlock combination number for each boot. When the boot is attached to a vehicle this PDA data is transmitted to the host entity whose contact telephone number is attached to the vehicle being booted. The driver contacts the entity to pay the fine and receive in return the unlock combination. Abstract: The present invention provides a wheel-immobilizing device that does not require holes or indentations in the wheel in order for the device to be secured around the wheel or caster being immobilized. Additionally, a wheel-immobilizing device according to the invention is configured such that it may be placed on the ground in front of a cabinet, and the cabinet simply rolled into position with one of its casters between side walls of the device. The wheel-immobilizing device is then secured around the caster by passing a cross member or, in some embodiments, two cross members through the side walls on either side of the caster stem and then securing the cross member or members in position, thereby locking the wheel-immobilizing device to the caster of the cabinet and hampering rolling movement of the cabinet.

Abstract: An immobilization apparatus for a vehicle having a wheel with a tire. The apparatus comprises first and second elongated members having inner ends and outer ends. The inner ends are connected together and the outer ends are angularly spaced apart. There is an L-shaped clasp at each of the outer ends for grasping the tire. The clasps are rotatable about the outer ends. A third elongated member has an inner portion and an outer portion and is angularly spaced-apart from the first and second members. The inner portion is tubular and the outer portion of the third elongated member is telescopically received therein. The outer portion has an L-shaped clasp, and the outer portion is rotatable with respect to the inner portion. A locking mechanism secures the outer portion at a fixed telescopic position with respect to the inner portion of the third elongated member.

Abstract: A tire lock includes a fixed arm, a lock tube, a movable arm and a lock rod. The movable arm is pivotally connected to the fixed arm at one end. Both the fixed arm and the movable arm comprise troughs, respectively. The lock tube is pivotally connected to the fixed arm. The lock rod is pivotally connected to the movable arm. The lock tube and the lock rod are respectively inserted through the troughs of the fixed arm and the movable arm, and have enlarged ends left outside of the troughs. By swinging the lock tube and the lock rod to engage together, the tire lock is locked on an opening of a tire.

Abstract: A locking assembly is being used on a trailer and is installed on at least one wheel. The locking assembly consists of two locking bars that have U-shaped ends at an outer end and straight sections at an inner end. Each of the inner ends have a multiple of bores there through. When installed, the inner ends of the locking bars are received in a receiver box, which is attached to a cylindrical hub, in an overlapping relationship whereby any of the bores will align with each other. A locking pin is passed through the bores once the locking bars are in place and once the U-shaped ends are placed around a tire and properly matched with its size.

  • Patent number: 6938734
Abstract: A configurable wheel lock comprising a rigid chock and an adjustable fork pivoted to the chock that engages a wheel seated within a cradle. The fork projecting from the control portion mounts a pair of separate arms pivoted to opposite ends of an axle that is slidably captivated within guide slots in the chock sides. Projecting arm stubs are inserted within the wheel to be captivated for locking. The fork arms rotate in a first plane that is coplanar with both arms and the axle, and they may be rotated about the axle. These combined rotational features enhance the positional abilities of the arms, and the dexterity of the wheel lock. Rigid locking-links pivoted to at least one of the arms are extended to the opposite arm to lock it in a selected locking position about the wheel.

  • Patent number: 6935145
Abstract: A stationary axle/wheel lock anti-theft device for positioning and encumbering vehicle axle/wheel assembly movement in X-Y-Z-axis planes. Said device includes a base, a cylindrical blocking member and a security lock assembly. A frontal wheel barrier integral to the base restricts access to the front face of the vehicle wheel rim, axle hub, wheel nuts and cylindrical blocking member. Said barrier provides a restraining bore for the cylindrical blocking member in the locked position. Wheel chocks integral to the base localizes the vehicle wheel assembly, substantially aligning the vehicle axle with the cylindrical blocking member coaxially. The cylindrical blocking member is restrained in the extended position by mechanical means and serves to protect a security lock device from tampering. The cylindrical block member obstructs forward or rearward movement once the vehicle wheel assembly makes contact.
