Rotation Blocking Patents (Class 70/226)
  • Patent number: 6938734
Abstract: A configurable wheel lock comprising a rigid chock and an adjustable fork pivoted to the chock that engages a wheel seated within a cradle. The fork projecting from the control portion mounts a pair of separate arms pivoted to opposite ends of an axle that is slidably captivated within guide slots in the chock sides. Projecting arm stubs are inserted within the wheel to be captivated for locking. The fork arms rotate in a first plane that is coplanar with both arms and the axle, and they may be rotated about the axle. These combined rotational features enhance the positional abilities of the arms, and the dexterity of the wheel lock. Rigid locking-links pivoted to at least one of the arms are extended to the opposite arm to lock it in a selected locking position about the wheel.

  • Patent number: 6935145
Abstract: A stationary axle/wheel lock anti-theft device for positioning and encumbering vehicle axle/wheel assembly movement in X-Y-Z-axis planes. Said device includes a base, a cylindrical blocking member and a security lock assembly. A frontal wheel barrier integral to the base restricts access to the front face of the vehicle wheel rim, axle hub, wheel nuts and cylindrical blocking member. Said barrier provides a restraining bore for the cylindrical blocking member in the locked position. Wheel chocks integral to the base localizes the vehicle wheel assembly, substantially aligning the vehicle axle with the cylindrical blocking member coaxially. The cylindrical blocking member is restrained in the extended position by mechanical means and serves to protect a security lock device from tampering. The cylindrical block member obstructs forward or rearward movement once the vehicle wheel assembly makes contact.

In the locked position, the push-button lock assembly engages a rod slideably disposed in the housing to prevent movement of the rod with respect to the housing. The push-button assembly also includes two levers, one each on either side of the assembly to engage two surfaces within the housing to retain the push-button assembly in the locked position and also to retain the push-button assembly in the housing.

Abstract: A diametric style steering wheel lock is disclosed having improved strength and resistance to forced removal, while, at the same time, demonstrating increased ease in actual use. The steering wheel lock utilizes an enclosed and protected dead bolt locking system providing positive and powerful diametric fixation of the device across a vehicle steering wheel. Although dead bolt operation is employed, the device demonstrates free rotation of one or both steering wheel rim engagement means facilitating placement of the device. In addition, the steering wheel lock advantageously incorporates longitudinally aligned adjustment and locking grooves located upon the surface of the locking rod to provide quick, keyless application of the lock including, extension, contraction and rotation further facilitating positioning thereof. Push-to-engage means as well as automatic dead bolt engagement is disclosed in the disclosed embodiments.
