Drawer Patents (Class 70/85)
  • Patent number: 4811579
Abstract: A manually operated release mechanism includes a spring actuated latch mechanism for latching a cash drawer within an enclosure upon movement of the cash drawer to a closed position. A rod member rotatably mounted adjacent the latch mechanism extends to a position adjacent the front edge of the enclosure. A drive member located adjacent the front edge of the enclosure has two cam surfaces, one of which is positioned adjacent one end of the rod member. When the cash drawer is in the closed position, a key actuated locking assembly on the cash drawer moves the drive member to an actuated position which engages and rocks the rod member to a position releasing the latching mechanism from engagement with the cash drawer. A depending tab portion of the cash drawer engages and slides the drive member to a home position upon opening of the drawer. The locking member disables the cash drawer from being operated by a solenoid mounted within the enclosure structure when moved to a locking position.

  • Patent number: 4741185
Abstract: To retain an accessory apparatus including a tape unit, such as a tape deck forming part of an automobile radio, in a vehicle, such as a car or a boat, a dummy cassette (17) is provided, having an externally visible lock (18) which operates a locking bolt (23) which, upon lock operation, deflects from an aligned position with the dummy cassette through a window in the accessory or tape deck housing and through a holding frame (11) or holding strap (30) secured in the vehicle. The windows (27, 27', 27") in the dummy cassette, the accessory apparatus including the tape deck and the frame or strap in the vehicle are in alignment so that the bolt can be passed therethrough, thus preventing removal of the accessory apparatus from the vehicle. Preferably, the lock is so placed that it is visible, so that it will be immediately apparent that the accessory apparatus is locked against removal.

  • Patent number: 4246769
Abstract: A gang locking system for use in furniture cabinets having a plurality of doors or drawers comprises a lock tube which rotates to move a lock bar from a disengaged or open position to an engaged or locked position. Rotation of the lock tube is effected by a lock cam attached to a lock cylinder. The lock cam is a generally rod shaped member having two offsets to constitute a "Z" or zig-zag shape and projects through a pair of slots in the lock tube. The slots in the lock tube have a width only slightly greater than the diameter of the rod-like cam so as to reduce any slack or "play" between the lock cam and the lock tube.

  • Patent number: 4133419
Abstract: A money box support arrangement in a housing for receiving a lockable money box of the type having transversely extendable locking bolts, which support arrangement secures the money box against removal from the housing. On the housing is provided a wall having an opening into which the money box is inserted, and positioned within the housing behind said wall is a frame secured to the housing. The frame has an opening for the insertion therethrough of the money box and flanges spaced with respect to said wall to define therewith channels that receive and confine the locking bolts of the money box to secure it against further movement relative to the housing, either inwardly or outwardly, thereby preventing removal of the money box by prying.
