  • Patent number: 11550064
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for providing a global localization output are provided. When the apparatus receives navigation signals, the apparatus processes the signals to determine, based on a fixed earth-centered, earth-fixed (ECEF) reference pose of a reference point in an ECEF coordinate, a new ECEF pose, and to convert the fixed ECEF reference pose to an east-north-up (ENU) reference pose in an ENU coordinate. When the apparatus determines that a jump occurs in the new ECEF pose based on a pose change between the new ECEF pose and a previous ECEF pose, the apparatus calculates a reference shift of the ENU reference pose based on the pose change to absorb the jump in the ENU coordinate, and updates the ENU reference pose based on the reference shift. Thus, a new ENU local pose may be obtained using the ENU reference pose.

  • Patent number: 11187541
Abstract: A method of requesting map data by a wireless communications device entails steps of predicting a future area of interest for which map data may be required, downloading the map data for the future area of interest, and then caching the map data for the future area of interest. Cached map data is thus available for rendering when the device moves into the future area of interest, thus expediting the generation of onscreen maps. Predicting the future area of interest can be accomplished, for example, by determining the direction of travel, by identifying a roadway upon which the device user is travelling, or by identifying a programmed route in a navigation application.

  • Patent number: 11158138
Abstract: A method and system for preserving and processing vehicle crash data evidence for any motor vehicle collision. The method initiates with checking and selecting from list of vehicles that support internal recording of crash event data. The method includes a field user option for extracting the hexadecimal event data stored in memory on a vehicle's airbag module by communicating through the on-board diagnostic port with a universal wireless on-board diagnostic device communicatively coupled with a user-computing device. Data preservation is achieved by requesting and saving vehicle specific code responses; data is then transmitted through a communication network to a computer integrated remotely in a laboratory for interpretation into a readable report format, so that collision specific details can be understood and analyzed.

  • Patent number: 11150325
Abstract: Determining a device's location in a space in real time is computing intensive. To offload some of the workload in conducting this hyperlocation, the access points in the network conduct some of process in determining the location of a device. The cloud determines a restricted AoA search area based on previous client locations. After this determination, a three-dimensional (3D) AoA search is conducted by each AP in the restricted area (restricted by a range of azimuth directions) for a device. Finally, each AP reports a location(s) for the device, which comprises weights for selected angular sectors. The cloud can then construct a probability heat map for location computation from the weights provided from each AP for the device.

  • Patent number: 11106218
Abstract: Various embodiments relate generally to autonomous vehicles and associated mechanical, electrical and electronic hardware, computer software and systems, and wired and wireless network communications to provide map data for autonomous vehicles. In particular, a method may include accessing subsets of multiple types of sensor data, aligning subsets of sensor data relative to a global coordinate system based on the multiple types of sensor data to form aligned sensor data, and generating datasets of three-dimensional map data. The method further includes detecting a change in data relative to at least two datasets of the three-dimensional map data and applying the change in data to form updated three-dimensional map data. The change in data may be representative of a state change of an environment at which the sensor data is sensed. The state change of the environment may be related to the presence or absences of an object located therein.
