  • Patent number: 10382529
Abstract: A method of determining the span of logical entities in a network is provided. The method generates a directed graph. Each node of the graph corresponds to a logical network entity. Each edge of the graph has one or two directions. A direction from a first node to a second node identifies the first node as the source of span for the second node. The method determines the span of each node based on the direction of the edges of the directed graph. The method groups each set of nodes that are accessible by all other nodes in the set in a strongly connected group (SCC) sub-graph. The method generates a group node in a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to correspond to each SCC sub-graph in the directed graph. The method assigns the span of each SCC to the corresponding group node of the DAG.

  • Patent number: 10373058
Abstract: An analytics processing system generates analytics from a collection of unstructured data by identifying trends in the data and deriving associations or correlations between series of values. Each series is generated from a set of field labeled values in the set, and compared to other series in the collection. Identified relationships in the series are scored based on depiction of an illustrative, predictive, or non-random association, and ranked by a scoring metric for analytical value. A visualization of the relationships are ranked and rendered such that the visualization highlights the association in a manner not achievable by simple inspection of the field values. Relationships are graphed by lines, circles, bars (histogram) on labeled axes based on the series. In this manner, a user may generate analytic results from a large data set, and pinpoint significant associations by paging through renderings scored as the most illustrative of notable trends.

Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method for diagnosing the state of electromechanical systems in which electrical rotating machinery is used on the basis of analysis of impedance estimated from at least two currents and two voltages, measured during an operation of the electromechanical system. The method may be especially useful in the condition monitoring of electric motors and generators. The invention combines the information from both the voltage and current signals measurable at the motor terminals. Specifically, the measurements of voltage and current from two or more phases of a polyphase electrical machine are combined to estimate the impedance of the machine, impedance being the resistance to the flow of current that a circuit exhibits when a voltage is applied to it.

  • Patent number: 10210189
Abstract: A method for analyzing performance of a computer system where at a plurality of time intervals, a set of KPIs of a database and database performance outputs are monitored. A database performance value is calculated based on the monitored KPIs and one or more database performance outputs. In response to determining the database performance value is below a first threshold, a KPI correlation coefficient is calculated. The calculated KPI correlation coefficient with the greatest value is selected as a target KPI. In response to determining that a count of functions of the target KPI meets a second threshold, a dynamic tabular representation of the determined target KPI is generated. A correlation matrix is generated based on the generated tabular representation and the plurality of time intervals and a first set of target functions are identified based on the generated correlation matrix.

Abstract: Example methods, apparatuses, and user interfaces are presented for generation of Application Business groups and determining system health and integrity based thereon. An Application Business group is a correlated group of Applications forming a business process or business service. Each application typically has one or two central application services referred here as an Application Epicenter. After determining an Epicenter, all correlated and important application services one hop away can become part of the Application. Interfaces allow for expansion or shrinking the Application by selecting a number of hops from the Epicenter. Once these Epicenters are defined, additional graphical user interfaces display health and status data of the Application centered around the Epicenter, including any fault data to diagnose problems in the Application.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device in a network loads an anomaly detection model for warm-start. The device filters input data for the model during a warm-start grace period after warm-start of the anomaly detection model. The model is not updated during the warm-start grace period based on the filtering. The device determines an end to the warm-start grace period. The device updates the anomaly detection model using unfiltered input data for the anomaly detection model after the determined end to the warm-start grace period.

Abstract: Side-facing belted aircraft seats include a tactile signaling unit to induce movement of the seat occupant. For such purpose, the signaling unit may be provided with a signaling lid covering a female buckle of a lap belt restraint assembly. The signaling lid is moveable between a closed position wherein engagement of a male tab of the lap belt with the female buckle is precluded and an open position wherein engagement of the male tab with the female buckle is allowed. The signaling lid thereby provides tactile stimulation when in the open position thereof to induce the seated occupant to shift on the cushioned seat so that a midsaggital plane of the occupant is aligned with an offset plane of the seat that is offset by a predetermined distance toward one side of the seat relative to a midplane of the seat.

  • Patent number: 10178031
Abstract: A load balanced system may incorporate instrumented systems within a group of managed devices and distribute workload among the devices to meet both load balancing and data collection. A workload distributor may communicate with and configure several managed devices, some of which may have instrumentation that may collect trace data for workload run on those devices. Authentication may be performed between the managed devices and the workload distributor to verify that the managed devices are able to receive the workloads and to verify the workloads prior to execution. The workload distributor may increase or decrease the amount of instrumentation in relation to the workload experienced at any given time.

  • Patent number: 10146609
Abstract: A continuous anomaly detection service receives data stream and performs continuous anomaly detection on the incoming data streams. This continuous anomaly detection is performed based on anomaly detection definitions, which define a signal used for anomaly detection and an anomaly detection configuration. These anomaly detection definitions can be modified, such that continuous anomaly detection continues to be performed for the data stream and the signal, based on the new anomaly detection definition.

  • Patent number: 10120669
Abstract: A method for deploying application components to Information Technology (IT) resources using an application platform controller includes requesting a network slice for the application components from a network controller. Priority values are assigned to the application components defining an order in which the application components are planned to be deployed. A deployment plan is computed for the application components. The network slice is reconfigured based on a determination that no deployment plan which meets the requirements is possible using the requested network slice. The application components are deployed sequentially, using the priority values, to host sites of the IT resources using information from the network controller including existing registrations of users of the application to an access network of the host sites such that replicas of the application components are provided at the host sites which provide a minimum latency with respect to a location of the users.

  • Patent number: 10122605
Abstract: The subject technology provides a drillable time-series heat map, which combines information of separate network element (e.g., switch, router, server or storage) and relates them together through impact zones to correlate network wide events and the potential impact on the other units in the network. The subject technology also brings together the network and its components, the distributed application(s) and a heat map controller to proactively communicate with one another to disseminate information such as failures, timeouts, new jobs, etc. For an individual job (e.g., for a distributed application), the subject technology may monitor consumption of resources during different phases of execution to provide individual job profile data that could be presented as a drillable heat map. The heat map, in this regard, nay include resource utilization heat metrics of resources such as CPU, Input/Output (I/O), memory, etc., in the heat map or graphs and presented along with network activity.
