  • Patent number: 8374839
Abstract: The simulation information creating part 111 generates random numbers corresponding to the correlation coefficient data between the simulation model parameters, and also creates the simulation model library having correlated model parameters with variations, and the simulation net list for the objective characteristic, by Monte Carlo method using the typical simulation model library, the standard deviations for the plural simulation model parameters and the simulation net list for the typical objective characteristic. The simulation part 112 obtains samples having the objective characteristics with variations. The yield estimation part 120, estimates the yields by determining whether the samples satisfy the predetermined specification or not (Pass or Fail), wherein by repeating the determination by making the simulations again only for the samples on which the filter having the function of learning the boundary for decision of Pass or Fail did not determine as Pass.

  • Patent number: 8326589
Abstract: In the present invention, in a case where a stable equilibrium point calculation is not calculable by using a Newton method, a damping factor of a mechanical system differential equation of a generator is set to be greater than an actual value of the generator of the power system. By applying pseudo-transient simulation to the nonlinear differential algebraic equation of the power system including the mechanical system differential equation of the generator, in which the damping factor is set, a norm of a mechanical system equation is found. If the found norm meets a predetermined condition, variable values of the power system at a time when the norm is found are set as initial values of the nonlinear differential algebraic equation of the power system. A stable equilibrium point is determined by applying the Newton method to the nonlinear differential algebraic equation in which the initial values are set.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method analyzes the thermodynamic and mechanical properties of a molecule or collection of molecules within a chemical environment under given thermodynamic conditions. The system is based on user-defined rules for a free energy decomposition and its reconstitution, explicit solute and implicit solvent specifications, and a selection of thermodynamic conditions. One template structure or multiple template structures define an explicit solute specification. Each template structure consists of a list of atoms and their coordinates. Input data is processed to produce a flexibility and stability test and return global thermodynamic properties, such as free energy, enthalpy, entropy and heat capacity as a function of temperature. Implemented via pebble game theory, global mechanical properties are determined based on the statistics of rigid and flexible regions that thermally fluctuate over ensembles of accessible states consistent with selected order parameters.

Abstract: Flight management systems can behave erratically when the distance measurements on which they are based are subject to value jumps because they liken these value jumps to movements of the aircraft performed at speeds exceeding the performance levels of the aircraft for which they were designed. To avoid this, the proposed flight management system uses a filter to spread the distance value jumps in time, over periods of the order of those needed for the aircraft to come through the distance differences that they represent. This filter replaces a value jump with a ramp making up the difference and corresponding to a movement that remains within the performance scope of the aircraft.

Abstract: Improved responses can be generated to scan patterns (e.g., test patterns) for an electronic circuit designs having timing exception paths by more accurately determining the unknown values that propagate to observation points in the circuit, where the response is captured. For instance, the responses are determined more accurately by analyzing the effect of sensitizing a timing exception path during each time frame associated with a scan pattern. Path sensitization can be determined based on observing whether values injected at starting points of the timing exception paths due to signal transitions and glitches propagate to their end points. The response can be updated by masking the affected end points and propagating unknown values further in the circuit to determine whether they are captured at observation points of the circuit. For instance, the methods and systems described herein may result in reduced unknowns, improved test coverage and test compression.

  • Patent number: 7826989
Abstract: In Internal Analysis Space analysis, assuming that no structural body and the like are placed outside of a conversion surface, an electromagnetic field distribution u0 inside of a conversion surface, on a conversion surface, and close to the outside of the conversion surface is found. In External Analysis Space analysis, on the assumption that there exists a structural body and the like outside of the conversion surface, an entire electromagnetic field distribution u is found. At this time, for the inside of the closed surface, an electric field distribution, where a differential electromagnetic field distribution e between electromagnetic field distribution u0 and electromagnetic field distribution u on the closed surface is a wave source, is found. Also at this time, for the outside of the closed surface, an electromagnetic field distribution, obtained by synthesizing electromagnetic field distribution u0 and electromagnetic field distribution e on the closed surface is found.

  • Patent number: 7818158
Abstract: In a computer simulation of an analog device in a digital circuit, a piece-wise linear lookup table is used to determine the channel resistance of the transistors in the analog device, allowing the node voltages to take on non-digital values. The piece-wise linear lookup table contains a set of channel resistances corresponding respectively to gate-to-source voltages. The program uses multi-terminal binary decision graphs (MTBDDs) to represent non-digital resistances, capacitances and voltages in the circuit as a function of symbolic inputs. The program can analyze circuits containing more than two voltage sources by modeling voltage sources with voltage dividers between the maximum and minimum voltages in the circuit.

  • Publication number: 20100224441
Abstract: In an acoustic structure, sound absorbing effect is achieved by interference between incident waves falling in an opening portion and reflected waves radiated from the opening as a result of resonance occurring within a hollow member in response to the incident waves, and a sound absorbing region is formed, for example, in a frontal direction of the opening portion. Sound scattering effect is achieved through interaction between the above-mentioned interference and interference between the incident waves and sound waves radiated from the opening portion, and a sound scattering region is formed, for example, near the sound absorbing region. A sound scattering effect is achieved by flows of motion energy of gas molecules being produced in an oblique direction, not normal to the opening portion and reflective surface, due to a phase difference between the sound waves radiated from the opening portion and the sound waves radiated from the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 7739098
Abstract: Static timing analysis attempts to exhaustively analyze all critical paths of a design. With ever decreasing geometries and ever increasing design complexity, manually identifying timing violations with standard static timing analysis can be very complex and time consuming. A static timing analysis tool can advantageously manage multiple runs having different modes and corners and automatically merge the results generated by the runs. The STA tool can perform the runs either in parallel or in series. Advantageously, the STA tool can save the full timing analysis generated by each run and then extract information from these saved results to form merged results for the design. These merged results can provide different levels of analysis coverage, supply path information at various levels of detail, allow selectable accessibility to information, and highlight propagation of timing changes/violations in the design.
