  • Publication number: 20150032615
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for utilizing e-receipt data and other electronic communication data between a merchant and customer regarding a transaction to augment data in a customer's online banking application. As such, present a customer with viewable purchase transaction data alongside online banking data, which allows a customer to view all customer transactions irrespective of payment means within a single online banking application. The invention identifies and retrieves electronic communications between a merchant and a customer associated with a transaction (such as e-receipts). Subsequently, the invention integrates the e-receipt data into the customer's online banking application for a holistic customer transaction view.

Abstract: As banking transactions are processed by a bank teller, all of the relevant information with respect to the transaction (e.g., dollar amount) is captured in an electronic file. Each of the electronic files from the various branches of the bank are forwarded to a central back office processing center where the electronic files are combined into a single Transaction Repository. At the end of the branch day, all of the paper associated with the transactions is forwarded from the branches to the back office processing center. The paper transactions are imaged in the conventional manner and the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) data is read from the paper. The present invention then automatically correlates the images and MICR data captured from the paper with the complete transaction record contained in the Transaction Repository. Most of the conventional back office processing can now be performed without the need to perform character recognition and without the need for excess human intervention.

Abstract: The present invention describes techniques for facilitating secure electronic financial transactions between parties without sharing main bank account information or other sensitive financial data. The invention provides an innovative financial transaction method consisting of utilizing definite-use electronic bank accounts. Each definite-use electronic bank account is created for a specific transaction, specific obligation, and/or specific payment amount only. There is a parent-child relationship between a main bank account and definite-use electronic bank accounts. This is a hierarchical relationship, meaning that definite-use electronic bank accounts are created and funded using the main bank account. Each definite-use electronic bank account is assigned a random account number, which is retired upon the closure of the associated financial transaction.

Abstract: A backup account recovery authentication of last resort using social authentication is described. The account holder requests trustees who have been previously identified to obtain an account recovery code. The account recovery system sends a communication to the trustee for information to verify the trustee as one of the previously identified trustees. The account recovery system then may transmit a link and code with instructions for the trustee to return the link. The account recovery system then transmits a situational query to the trustee to provide additional security. Finally, if all the communications have been completed for the required level of security, the account recovery code is transmitted to the trustee. The trustee sends the account recovery code to the account holder for access to an account.

Abstract: A controller comprising: a database; a control module associated with the database; and a network interface configured to connect, over a network, to a plurality of workstations and at least one machine for performing operations to handle cash and/or other physical financial documents. The network interface receives requests from at least some of the workstations over the network, each comprising a request to pre-order a respective one of the operations. The requests are stored in the database. The network further receives, over the network, a signal from or on behalf of a slave module of the machine for retrieving one of the requests from the database. The control module processes the signal and in response releases the respective operation, the release comprising issuing an instruction to the slave module over the network controlling the machine to perform the respective operation to handle the cash and/or other physical financial document.
