Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to determining vehicle usage. In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a travel route of a vehicle, identifying a pattern of travel based on the travel route over a predetermined period of time, and determining whether the vehicle is being used as a private vehicle for an on-demand delivery service based on the pattern of travel. The method includes, when the vehicle is being used as a private vehicle for an on-demand delivery service, generating a notification to an entity associated with the vehicle, wherein the notification includes information relating to the vehicle being used as a private vehicle for an on-demand delivery service.

Abstract: An event automation system controls building management systems (e.g. building automation, access control, and/or security systems of a building) for scheduled events. An occupancy module generates occupancy information for event spaces where events are scheduled via occupancy sensors installed at the event spaces. A building automation module instructs distributed devices of the building management systems to control the environmental settings of the event spaces based on the occupancy information and stored space, attendee, and schedule information. The event automation system also facilitates scheduling the events at event spaces of the building based on configuration information from an event organizer (e.g. invited attendees, start and end times, and activities to be performed at the event), required automation features for the event, location information and exercise preferences for the invited attendees, and/or aggregated usage information for the event spaces.

The communications options include booking tee times, allocation of payments among a group of golfers, virtual pro shop communications, and ecommerce subscriptions. The various channels may include email, text, VoIP communications, Internet chatrooms, and/or Internet messaging services. The system fully automates reception of input from one or more golfers for purposes of booking tee-times, distributing communications among a plurality of golfers, and making transactions.

Abstract: A vehicle authentication method, a recording medium storing a program, a terminal device, and a vehicle authentication system which may raise security level on vehicle authentication by a user are provided. In the vehicle authentication method, the terminal device acquires a vehicle authenticator for authentication of a reserved vehicle, sends a reference vehicle a request for a vehicle authenticator for authentication of the reference vehicle, and determines whether the vehicle authenticators of the reference vehicle and the reserved vehicle coincide. It is determined whether the difference between the first listing value and the second listing value exceeds a predetermined threshold. In response to the determination that the difference exceeds the predetermined threshold, a user-selectable message is provided on the first wireless device. The user-selectable message includes a prompt configured to secure the second listing. In response to the prompt, the second listing is secured for the first wireless device.

Abstract: The present disclosure is for a system and a method for disaggregating point-of-sale terminals in coupon or token based transactions wherein buyers may initiate a purchase transaction via a computing device and/or their mobile-wallets and sellers may complete the transaction on their point-of-sale terminals, which may not have digital payment processing capabilities. Unlike traditional coupon or token redemption systems, which require communication from a point-of-sale terminal and a user device (and the related infrastructure required to integrate the two systems), systems and methods of the present enable verification using a single device.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for maintenance of service areas within a facility by a plurality of attendants, wherein each service area has one or more product dispensers that require periodic refill. Via a sensor configured with each product dispenser and a control system in communication with the sensors, a product level or amount of product in each dispenser is determined. Based on information from the sensors, a respective refill time is computed for refilling each of the dispensers. Location of the attendants is tracked on a continuous or periodic basis. As a function of the computed refill times and location of the various attendants, one of the attendants is selected to service one or more of the product dispensers in a particular service area. An alert message is generated and transmitted to the selected attendant that gives the location of the particular service area within the facility.

The instructions are also configured to retrieve, from a voucher engine, an attraction voucher based on the access identifier, and determine whether the attraction voucher has previously been validated. The method may commence with receiving a travel-related query from a user and parsing the travel-related query to derive at least one attribute of the travel-related query. The at least one attribute of the user may be ranked based on preference data of the one or more further users. The method may continue with assigning weights to the at least one attribute based on the ranking to create at least one weighted attribute. Feasible travel itineraries may be searched based on the at least one attribute. The feasible travel itineraries may be scored based on the at least one weighted attribute and travel itineraries selected based on the scoring may be presented.

Abstract: A system or arrangement of room control with a mobile device by a guest at a hotel, motel, or the like. When a reservation system assigns a guest to a room in, for instance a hotel, the reservation system may request a security certificate from a server that manages a control system in the room. The certificate may be transmitted to the guestroom control equipment and room reservation system. The certificate may be pushed to a mobile device of the guest. Also a key credential may be pushed to the mobile device for room access. The certificate may indicate the date/time period where the certificate is valid and functional aspects that the certificate can support relative to the room. When a guest goes to the room, the mobile device may link up with the control equipment in the room. Both entities having the same certificate can mutually authenticate each other.

Abstract: Data processing and storage is an important part of a number of applications. Conventional data processing and storage systems utilize either a full array structure or a full linked list structure for storing data wherein the array consumes large amount of memory and linked list provides slow processing. Thus, conventional systems and methods are not capable of providing simultaneous optimization of memory consumption and time efficiency. The present disclosure provides an efficient way of storing data by creating an integrated array and linked list based structure. The data is stored in the integrated array and linked list based structure by using a delta based mechanism. The delta based mechanism helps in determining the location in the integrated array and linked list based structure where the data should be stored. The present disclosure incorporates the advantages of both array and linked list structure resulting in reduced memory consumption and latency.

Abstract: Techniques of rendering digitized services in a smart environment are described. The techniques involve identification of a first action based on at least one of a user input and a user schedule. In an example, the first action may include visiting a restricted setup to avail services provided therein. Based on the first action, a plurality of second actions may be performed to render the services to the user. The techniques may further involve tracking the presence of the user at the restricted setup in real-time, and using the tracking information to plan the first and the second actions for other users.

Abstract: In a method for applying penalties or incentives to a driver of a rented vehicle, an indication that the driver has agreed to terms for renting the vehicle from the vehicle owner is received, with the terms including the potential application of penalties or incentives to the driver based on driving behavior. Telematics data, indicative of operation of the rented vehicle by the driver during a period of time, is received. By analyzing the telematics data, one or more driving behaviors of the driver during the time period is/are identified. For each driving behavior, a corresponding state of an environment of the rented vehicle when the driving behavior occurred is determined. One or more penalties or incentives are caused to be applied to the driver, based on the driving behavior(s) and the corresponding state(s) of the environment of the rented vehicle.

Abstract: Provided are a system and method for determining whether an apparent booking is a genuine booking or is a blocked period of unavailability that is not the result of a genuine booking. Bookings occur in all sorts of industries, such as travel, medical, entertainment, weddings, catering, and the like. In some examples, the method may include receiving content from a website that includes a listing for an object, identifying a period of unavailability of the object based on the content received from the website, predicting, via a machine learning model, whether the period of unavailability of the object is a blocked period that is not a result of a reservation of the object, the predicting being performed based on additional content visible on the website being input into the machine learning model, and storing an identifier of the period of unavailability and information about the prediction within a storage device.
