Resource Planning, Allocation Or Scheduling For A Business Operation Patents (Class 705/7.12)
  • Patent number: 8615417
Abstract: A supply plan control method which allows an effective product supply plan to be made, ensuring equality among orderers in different time zones. When an order for a subject of transaction is specified, a possible allocation recipient customer extraction section extracts a customer servicing at the time when the order is accepted as a possible allocation recipient customer, in accordance with the business hours and the standard time in the location of the customer. A possible allocation quantity determination section calculates a planned allocation quantity for the possible allocation recipient customer in accordance with a planned supply quantity, and subtracts a quantity actually allocated to any customer from the planned allocation quantity for the possible allocation recipient customer to determine a possible allocation quantity. An allocation section allocates the subject of transaction from the possible allocation quantity for the possible allocation recipient customer in accordance with the order.

  • Patent number: 8615416
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of an improved production planning method that avoids or limits early builds. The method comprises running a conventional production planning program using standard inputs (e.g., date effective yields). The outputs of the program (e.g., a plan including planned inventory overstocks at given times) are evaluated to determine if the program plans an early build and if the planned early build may have been triggered by a predicted decrease in yield. If an early build is planned and if a correlation exists between the decrease in yield and the early build, then, optionally, new constraints are added into the program and the program is re-run so that the early build is either avoided or limited to that of the proper yield. Thus, the method can be used to reduce early builds due to an incorrect, nominally higher, yield without requiring the user to provide any special additional input data.

  • Patent number: 8571911
Abstract: An improved method of selecting and planning the performance of various maintenance activities on a facility such as a nuclear power plant includes determining the net present value of a number of future net savings that are expected to result from performance of the maintenance activity at a given time, and selecting and planning the maintenance activities in a fashion that maximizes net present value. The method includes, for each of a number of components and a number of time periods, determining a change in the probability that a component will fail within a time period, with the change resulting from an assumption that a maintenance activity is performed. The change in probability is multiplied with the losses associated with a failure in order to determine a gross savings from which costs are subtracted to determine net savings.
