Abstract: The disclosed system empowers technical and non technical users to author logical business objects, author intelligent business forms, and create automated workflows. The logical business objects include data definitions and methods from existing and new data sources. An object broker interprets the business object definition and brokers data/information and method calls to the data sources. The intelligent business forms are created by an information worker in a rich web-based tooling environment. Each form is intelligent enough to recognize other forms that it might co-exist with on a single page, as well as how to react based on events that occur on these related forms. The automated workflow tools include process discovery features that assist users during the process identification phase. The tools assist both technical and non technical users to identify processes within the organization, including supporting solution artifacts such as forms, rules, actions, outcomes and business objects involved.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for managing session data. The process determines whether preexisting session data associated with a request for content is present in response to receiving the request. Responsive to an absence of the preexisting session data being associated with the request, the process generates session data associated with the request. The process then generates a response page having a set of forms including a set of hidden fields. The set of hidden fields include the session data. Thereafter, the process sends the response page to a client browser.

Abstract: A method, a substation automation apparatus and an intelligent electronic device (IED) are disclosed which are, for example, not limited only to publishing data (data emanating) from the IED. An exemplary method includes assigning a unique identifier to one or more data fields, where the one or more data fields is associated with a short address attribute in the data emanating from the intelligent electronic device; and dynamically updating the identifier based on user specific configuration data by an IED application configuration tool. The IED can include a list of functions; (e.g., each function being represented as a logical node; and each logical node containing data objects); and a flexible addressing scheme for configuring the data objects and publishing data from the IED, but not only data emanating from IED.

Abstract: Systems and methods analyze the physical structure of text rows in a document image, including the positions of one or more alignments of one or more character blocks in one or more text rows of the document image. The systems and methods determine one or more groups of text rows that are placed into a class based on the structures of the text rows, such as the positions of the one or more alignments of the one or more character blocks in each text row. A pattern matching system then determines if one or more classes should be further combined into a combined class.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining the layout of a form automatically to accommodate text in the form. Under the method and apparatus, a set of parameters define the sizing and alignment of elements of the form. Sizing and positioning instructions that are separate from the sizing and alignment parameters set the sizing and positioning of elements of the form based on the sizing and alignment parameters. The instructions determine the minimum size for the form, based in part on text in the form. The difference between the minimum size for the form and a desired size for the form is then distributed across the form to size and position the elements in the form.

Abstract: An image-information obtaining unit obtains image information. A form determining unit determines form information indicating a characteristic of limiting a position of a viewing axis that is an axis for turning over a page a print on which the image information is printed, based on the image information. A viewing-axis determining unit determines the position of the viewing axis based on the form information. A format limiting unit limits format information that can be set according to the position of the viewing axis. A format receiving unit receives an input of the format information limited by the format limiting unit.

Abstract: A method and system for generating and using inspection data is disclosed. Prior to an inspection, inspection data is generated which includes location and component attributes, observation codes, and relationships between the location and component attributes and observation codes. During an inspection, an inspector accesses the inspection data to generate a data entry form which reflects the attributes, observation codes, and the relationships chosen during the inspection data generation. The inspector uses the data entry form to generate an inspection record having a structure based on the predefined inspection data.

Abstract: A system and method for assisting a user cope with painful memories. The system uses a number of light sequence presentations to permit the user to self-direct a dynamically configurable Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) session. The system dynamically configures subsequent light sequence presentations based, in part, upon feedback received from the user.

Abstract: Business process enablement of electronic documents is provided. A method includes populating an electronic document supporting structured and unstructured content. The electronic document includes a description identifying a server and the content. The method further includes notifying a document processor of a submission event. The method also includes serializing a portion of the electronic document containing some of the unstructured content. The method additionally includes submitting the electronic document to the server in response to the submission event.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to systems, methods and devices for modifying and managing form documents with an application that receives input from an imaging device user interface and from other sources. Some aspects relate to an input field definition file that obtained or generated at a device that is remote to the imaging device and which comprises display parameters and UI options for prompting a user for field input and as well as instructions for obtaining field data from other sources.

Abstract: The invention features a method, system, and computer program product. User input defining a form that has one or more fields is received. User input defining a set of entries associated with the form is also received, the set of entries identifying available connections to data repositories and fields of the form that are associated with the connections. Each data repository is connected with the fields associated with the data repository using one or more declarative statements that enable one-to-many mappings from fields in the form to data repositories as defined by the set of entries.

Abstract: A tool is proposed for supporting active documents. In one embodiment, an active document may be opened in an application program executing at a first computer, the active document being in a format recognized by the application program. Data relating to a first active document may be received data at the first computer from a user of the application program, and a search request based on the received data may be sent from the first computer to a second computer that maintains a plurality of data objects. In one embodiment, the application program at the first computer is unable to perform any functions with data objects at the second computer. The first computer may receive information relating to a result of the search request from the second computer and may store the information in the first active document.

Abstract: The subject disclosure relates to configurable multi-view data entry. When a user encounters a form field with a complex data type, depending on the invoking mechanism, either automatic when on focus, or through a user gesture such as clicking on an icon in the form field, the form field expands to multiple form fields including the original form field. The multiple form fields can allow the user to enter in each separate data item that makes up the complex data type. As data items are entered, the data items can be combined into a correct format and displayed in the original form field.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments described herein relate to techniques for enabling a business process model (BPM) to be transparent (in whole or in part) from the source of data that triggers it. More particularly, certain example embodiments relate to techniques enabling transparent composition and decomposition of e-form data from one or more e-form formats into data that is directly usable by a Business Process Model Engine. Information from an e-form may, for example, be used in a business process, e.g., after a template or document type is created that represents the e-form in a format that the BPM Engine understands, and the e-form may be transparently composed into and decomposed out from the business data in certain example embodiments.

Abstract: A form management system is provided that bundles individual electronic form instances into a single bundled form. Form field names in the electronic form instances and scripts are renamed at the time the form instances are merged into a bundle. In this manner, common names can be assigned to individual form fields in individual forms and then only the form field names in electronic forms selected for the bundle are renamed. Furthermore, the same renaming scheme is also executed in the scripts associated with the individual form documents and fields. As such, the form field names in the scripts of bundled documents are altered to reference the renamed form fields in the corresponding component forms.

Abstract: An analysis engine executes under client control to review web pages in real-time and control interaction with the web pages of a website to assist the user of the client in providing selections, providing information and otherwise interacting with the website. In analyzing web pages, the engine uses rule-based logic and considers web pages from an anthropomimetic view, i.e., considers the content, forms and interaction elements as would be perceived and dealt with by a human user, as opposed to by merely considering the web pages in their native form, such as HTML formatted files.

Abstract: A method for pre-recognition processing of forms with non-fixed fields. One or more objects that are present on a form can be reliably identified after conversion of the form into an electronic state. Objects are preliminarily assigned to act as reference points for spatial binding of data input fields or groups thereof. In the case of a text object as a reference point, text recognition is additionally performed. The spatial location of a reference point may be not fixed. A reference point may be described as alternative. Field identification may be performed either automatically or manually.

Abstract: A method and system for producing a patent specification is capable of producing a patent specification draft rapidly for the inventor, applicant or patent attorney, thereby reducing the time to complete the specification and improving the mutual understanding between the inventor and the patent attorney. After the inventor inputs the technical characteristics and other related description via a graphic interface, a patent specification draft can be produced rapidly. The method includes the steps of inputting a title, selecting the type of invention, entering the graphic interface, inputting the name and function of each element to form an output data section, inputting the data having multiple sets of text areas, cooperating the input data having multiple sets of text areas with individual output data section, combining, trans-pasting and composing the corresponding input description to form multiple sets of output data sections. In this way, the contents of a patent specification can be formed.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a validation framework to validate whether data entered in a web application is valid. The framework includes a validation resource that contains a validation rule for the web application. The framework also includes a validation group web control that can generate client validation script that is useable by a client to validate whether the entered data is valid. In at least some embodiments, an event table that specifies the validation rules is used to present an error message when the entered data is not valid.

Abstract: An evolutionary document system comprises: a multi-function printer, a recognition module, an evolutionary document processing module, a list of document identifiers and corresponding actions, and an evolutionary document creation module. The MFP includes software and control routines for processing and creating evolutionary documents. The recognition module is operable on the MFP and allows the MFP to determine an evolutionary document identification number from an image scanned by the MFP. The evolutionary document processing module is capable of matching an evolutionary document identification number to one or more steps or action stored in the list of document identifiers and corresponding actions. Once the actions have been identified, the evolutionary document processing module executes the actions. The present invention also includes an evolutionary document creation module for creating an evolutionary document including an identification code.

Abstract: The invention relates to the authentication of users for a multi-function peripheral (MFP) device using handwritten signatures. Systems and methods are disclosed which relate to a MFP that conditions access to MFP operations based on an authenticating process that compares a prospective user's signature to previously saved signatures. The signatures are communicated to the MFP using the MFP's native scanning function.

Abstract: Embodiments presented herein provide methods, systems and computer program products for incentivizing users for providing user information. One method transmits data operative to cause a remote client application to render a structured form for input by a user. The structured form comprises one or more fields into which a user can input user attribute data. The method receives one or more user information objects including the user attribute data. The method accesses a data store of famous persons, comprising one or more famous person information objects each associated with a famous person, and including famous person attribute data. The method identifies one or more famous persons based on a matching of at least one of the user information objects and one or more famous person information objects. The method presents the identified famous persons and one or more aspects of associated famous person attribute data matching the user attribute data.

Abstract: A system for creating and editing mark up language forms and documents in a manner that is user friendly. The system dynamically generates a user interface that is customized to the particular form or document selected by the user. The user then enters information into the plurality of fields in the user interface for the form or document. Once the form or document is completed, the user can save the form or document in a document repository. The user can also transmit the form or document as an electronic filing document. Additionally, the data entry fields of the form or document can automatically expand or contract to accommodate data of varying length. Moreover, the user can create templates that include frequently used data.

Abstract: A method and a device transport a postal object to an incompletely specified destination address. The object has at least one information item relating to a destination address to which the object is to be transported. A set of address components is predetermined. An address database is used which in each case contains a computer-available record per destination address for a set of possible destination addresses. Each record contains in each case one entry for each predetermined address component. At least one destination address information item on the object is detected. A screen form is used which contains in each case one input field for each address component. The detected destination address information is compared with the records of the address database. When exactly one record is consistent with all detected destination address information items, a transportation of the object to the destination address of the record is triggered.

The printer includes a job controlling section to divide received data into a printer language-dependent portion being dependent on a printer language and print job information being not dependent on a printer language, a form controlling section to produce form bit-mapped data based on form information, and a bit-mapped controlling section to produce bit-mapped data representing non-form based on a result from analysis of a printer language-dependent portion and to perform overlay printing on a form and a non-form by overlaying bit-mapped data on form bit-mapped data. Since control on overlay printing is performed in accordance with form information in printing job information, the printer can be free from constraint of a printer language.

Abstract: A state management sub-system that assists in transmitting and processing documents and messages between two applications in a sequentially correct order through an integration server is disclosed. The state management subsystem analyzes the message and enters state information about the message into a state management table. Once the message is transformed the state management subsystem check the status of the message in the state management table, and checks all waiting parameters. Depending on the status of the check, the state management subsystem changes the state of message in the table. Only when all messages have passed the waiting parameters check is a message posted to the destination system.

Abstract: Systems and methods of recognizing a business document and creating a document signature. In one embodiment, a business document is scanned and a business document image is created. The business document image is compared to a template database. If a matching template is found, document fields are defined and extracted. If no matching document template is found, the document image is compared to a skeleton database. If a matching document skeleton in found, document fields are defined and extracted. A document skeleton is generated and then stored in the template database. If no matching document skeletons are found in the skeleton database, document fields are manually extracted. A document skeleton is then generated from the identification of static and variable strings and stored in the skeleton database. Document fields are validated after all document fields have been extracted.

Abstract: A system that may be used to generate documents, where the system is accessible from and integratable with remote systems is provided. A document generation system that may be provided as a service, in the sense that the system may be accessed via, e.g., the Internet, from remote systems such as credit aggregators. The system takes in information regarding the requirements (e.g., type of transaction, number of parties, amount of loan, price, governing law, etc.) of the document needed (e.g., a loan application, construction contract, etc.) and produces an appropriate form based on the input information. It should be noted that access to the document generation system is effectuated by an Internet/network connection via, e.g., a partner provider system such as a DMS, a traditional credit aggregator, a credit aggregator portal, etc. Electronic signature and secure archiving may be provided for generated documents.

Abstract: A customer relationship management (CRM) system utilizes a form definition, user interface (UI) definitions, and UI code to generate Web pages for interacting with CRM data. A CRM plug-in is configured to execute in conjunction with a personal information manager (PIM) client application and to utilize the same form definition, UI definitions, and UI code utilized by the CRM system to generate the Web-based CRM interface. The UI definitions are utilized to present UI controls for performing CRM-related functionality in the context of a UI generated by the PIM client application. The UI code utilized by the CRM system to implement Web-based UI controls can be utilized to implement the UI controls in the context of the PIM client application. The form definition utilized by the CRM system might be utilized to display CRM fields in the UI presented by the PIM client application.

Abstract: A project management application provides an environment in which a user can transform a project sketch, which is based on mostly “freeform” data, into a defined project plan. The project management application facilitates the mixture of freeform task attribute values with structured attribute values of one or more project tasks. The project management application can utilize an internal calculation model to manage the relationships between task attribute values despite accepting freeform values for task attributes. The project management application calculates the attribute values to the extent allowed by the calculation model's recognition of the attribute values.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for assessing and recommending a life insurance package to a client. A life insurance package may comprise the amount of life insurance coverage and the monthly cost needed to obtain that amount of coverage. In an exemplary embodiment, two or more life insurance packages, including what each life insurance package covers, are presented to the user. In an exemplary embodiment, default assumptions are made for questions that are difficult for the user to answer but may be fairly accurately estimated by the system.

Abstract: The APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A REAL-TIME MULTI-HOP ROUTE REPORTER (“REPORTER”) facilitates generation and provision of relevant and descriptive network performance reports that are efficient, economical and useful to executives, managers and other non-IT professionals and/or personnel. The REPORTER may be implemented as a multi-tiered web application that may collect, analyze and update database records which facilitate generation of the descriptive report. The REPORTER may include facilities for establishing correlations between various devices in the same network in order to evaluate and report the network performance.

The retrieved value along with a validation pattern for the form based input field can be passed to a validation process disposed within a lightweight validation library coupled to the rendered markup. Subsequently, the retrieved value can be validated in the content browser according to the validation pattern. Notably, each step of retrieving, passing and validating can be repeated for at least one additional value for at least one additional form based input field disposed in the markup rendered in the content browser. In this regard, the retrieving, passing, and validating steps can be performed in a validation shell function disposed in the markup rendered in the content browser.

Abstract: Methods and systems for directed creation of construction documentation are provided. Example embodiments provide a Directed Documentation System (a “DDS”), which directs, in a computer-assisted manner, the creation of a historical record of a portion or an entire construction project. In one embodiment, the DDS comprises a directed construction data organization process/component, a directed documentation data acquisition process/component, a construction documentation data retrieval process/component, and a construction documentation data distribution process/component. These components cooperate to direct the documentation of a construction project in a manner that insures that all desired aspects of the project are documented thoroughly and uniformly. Abstract: A mobile telephone displays an image of a payment card in connection with a contactless payment function implemented in the mobile telephone. The mobile telephone constructs the payment card image from separate image elements. Data which represents at least some of the image elements is stored in an image data format which includes at least some dedicated storage fields for the various image elements.
