Abstract: This program converts a customized Excel form into a form where each record is stored in a database (spreadsheet). Five simple buttons are added to row 1 of the form that allow the creation of new form records, the review of previously submitted form records, and the updating of records. The core of this invention makes custom forms available to non-programmers by annotating the form fields (cells) with comments that tell the form where to store, update, and retrieve the form data.

Variable information is extracted from one or more electronic forms that are to be mapped to the paper form. A template is created by placing the variables from the electronic form onto an image of the paper form. The template may include position coordinate information, variable name information, text, and logic. After the template is completed, the system uses the template to print paper forms from instances of electronic forms.

Abstract: A form reader includes a landmarks extractor configured to select textboxes of a converted document as form landmarks based on textual characteristics. A set of positional constraints constrain the form entries relative to the identified form landmarks. A constraints solver selects textboxes of the converted document as form entries by solving the set of positional constraints respective to a set of facts including the selected form landmarks and converted document. In some embodiments, the constraints solver includes a query engine configured to (i) construct a query in a logic programming language setting forth the set of positional constraints and the set of facts and to (ii) input said query to a logic programming language query solving engine and to (iii) receive a response from the query solving engine responsive to the input.

Responsively to the tag, the script-based engine is loaded into the web browser. Via the displayed layer, input is received from the user for filling in the field.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to a page flow framework. In aspects, a page flow engine includes logic to navigate between pages. To make its determination of what page is next, the page flow engine uses an indication of the current page and may also use properties associated with the pages. These properties may be filled in as a user enters values on the pages, for example. The page flow engine does not need any additional information to determine the next page besides the current page and the properties. The page flow engine may also store the pages visited in a travel log. This may be used to return previous pages. The page flow engine allows the page flow logic to be removed from the pages and placed in a centralized component. This simplifies creation and maintenance of page flow.
