Abstract: A method of managing visual distinctive features on axes is provided, the method comprising providing a first group of documents having a first attribute in common, displaying the first group of documents on a first axis, providing a second group of documents having a second attribute in common, displaying the second group of documents on a second axis and displaying a visual distinctive feature in connection with a set of documents having a third attribute in common, the set of document comprising at least one document from the first group of documents and at least one document from the second group of documents, wherein the third attribute is attributed to each document in the set of documents irrespective of the position of each document in relation to one another on the first axis and second axis, the visual distinctive feature discriminating the documents associated with the third attribute from the documents not associated with the third attribute on the axes.

The system includes a processor based platform having a user interface configured to execute a document request having document identification information, and a requestor ID having identification information corresponding to the user interface. A server computer configured to execute a document request, the server platform being operatively connected to a database, repository, and a document conversion engine, wherein the document conversion engine includes a means for processing a document request. Wherein the means for processing a document request processes the document request based on said document request and said requestor ID, and transmits a version of a document compatible with the user interface, and corresponding to the document identification information.

The computer system generates a locale package that includes one or more display format parameters that correspond to the format of the selected information. Abstract: To facilitate the use of audio files for annotation purposes, an audio file format, which includes audio data for playback purposes, is augmented with a parallel data channel of line identifiers, or with a map associating time codes for the audio data with line numbers on the original document. The line number-time code information in the audio file is used to navigate within the audio file, and also to associate bookmark links and captured audio annotation files with line numbers of the original text document. An annotation device may provide an output document wherein links to audio and/or text annotation files are embedded at corresponding line numbers. Also, a navigation index may be generated, having links to annotation files and associated document line numbers, as well as bookmark links to selected document line numbers.

The document may be any type of document to which changes/comments are made, such as word processing documents, spreadsheets, slides, and the like. A reviewer receiving the electronic message may accept/reject changes and/or make comments/modifications to the document changes that are contained within the electronic message. For example, a reviewer may edit the document changes that are included within the body of the electronic message to add a comment and/or make changes to the change. A reviewer may also have the option to accept/reject changes directly from within the electronic message. After making any changes, the reviewer replies to the electronic message and the changes that are included within the electronic message are applied to the document.

The system may reside on a computer system hosting a computing application and may include a request processor be configured to receive a request to generate an electronic form based on a host template and a document description, an insertion points processor, a stitching module, and an output module. The insertion points processor may be configured to parse the host template to determine an insertion point and determine a form fragment to be referenced in the host template at a location designated by the insertion point, based on information present in the document description. The stitching module may be configured to insert a reference to the form fragment into the host template at the location indicated by the insertion point. The output module may be configured to generate a result electronic form, utilizing the host template and the form fragment.

Abstract: Architecture for multi-level undo on a client in grid-based applications. The architecture is a control driven cascading changes system where change tracking works seamlessly in asynchronous (and synchronous) scenarios. A client application is associated with a grid object and, instantiates and configures the grid object. The application can initiate a change to data in the grid and/or the user can edit the data in the grid directly. A result of the change is a notification to the application, the notification including an order key. The application consumes the notification and can then append new changes based on synchronous or asynchronous computations by calling an update function using the order key. The application uses the key to attach further updates which are properly collected together for undo/redo.

Abstract: The present invention provides a Web page edit screen that allows an author to edit parent and child documents collectively while showing, in an appropriate manner, the content of the child document embedded in the parent document. Associated documents of a Web page to be edited are managed as managed documents individually. Document-by-document structure information is derived from the content of each managed document. Web page structure information is then assembled by connecting the document-by-document structure information based on embed-related code. Edit screen data is generated based on the content of the managed documents and the Web page structure information to generate a browser-type edit screen. The content of a relevant managed document is synchronized with the edited content on the edit screen. The edit screen data is matched with the edited content on the edit screen.

Abstract: An education digital reading platform provides a visualization interface displaying visual object elements of a document to a user. A visual object element may include images, videos, charts, tables, etc. The visual objects may be identified in a document by extracting metadata associated with the document. Additionally, the ideas or concepts represented by the visual object elements may be identified by analyzing the document, and content related to the ideas or concepts may be identified and associated with the visual object elements. The related content may include user generated content or content stored in one or more databases. The related content is provided to a user in the visualization interface wherein the user may access the related content. The interface allows a user to navigate a document by moving from one visual object element to another.

Abstract: A content management tool can assist publishers/authors in managing access rights and other parameters related to the display of documents online. The documents may include books and other documents that are traditionally published as printed works. The content management tool may display presentation parameters for the documents that relate to how the documents are to be shown to users when accessing the documents. Digital content is created and stored in, for example, the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format using the relationship between component mapping information and content information comprising webpage components. The XML data is developed by defining page components, mapping the components on a page and indexing the page for future retrieval of the page. The data is then stored in a single database, as segments related to the page, for call-up by a user.

The version information can be presented or accessed using a dropdown user interface (UI) navigation model which employs animation to assist users in tracking which user is making a change and when the change is made. Moreover, a user can select a specific version item to navigate back to the content associated with changes made, as part of collaboration, for example. The dropdown menu includes elements that comprise user tiles, user name, last saved date, and so on. Additionally, a user can jump between documents within a single UI. An interface is provided to create a label and thereupon label a portion of the document. The created label is stored, and an extractor is developed based on the labeling. A test interface is provided for the extractor, and results of a test conducted through the test interface are displayed. The extractor is exported. In accordance with at least one embodiment, developers are presented with eased automated guidance to write extractors, which thereby reduces an overall manual effort involved in extractor development. Generally, a focused, tutorial-type environment serves as a guide based on previously developed best practices.

Abstract: A system and method for synchronizing color on at least two devices. A Color Synchronizer color standard is established for applying to display devices, where the color standard causes the actual colors of items in images to be displayed on the display device. The color standard is loaded onto a client computing device for applying to a display. The color standard is used to calibrate the display device. Images in a Web page are prepared based on the color standard for sending to the client computer display. Images of the items are captured by a camera calibrated to the color standard. An identifying code, such as a QR code, is embedded into the Web page. An identifier read from the QR code is used to verify that the Web page is certified. If certified, apply the color standard to the calibrated client display to adjust the colors on the display.

Abstract: Automatic detection and implementation of modifications to an application are described. A new base model of the application is generated using the edited version of the application. This base model is simulated to a selected state, resulting in a new presentation model that includes a tree of multiple objects described by the new base model at the selected state, and a pointer for each node of the tree that points back to the associated node in the new base model. The pointers of each node of the new presentation model are compared to the nodes of the previous presentation model of the application and then replaced with those corresponding nodes in the previous presentation model when the nodes are equivalent. Otherwise, the nodes of the new presentation model are maintained.
