Abstract: One embodiment of a method for archiving and restoring web pages can remove elements from web data to be stored as web archive data that can cause two or more substantially similar elements to appear within a web page later created from the web archive data. In another embodiment, a web page can be constructed from web archive data. This constructed web page may not be displayed, but can be inspected for substantially similar elements so that those elements can be removed. After the elements are removed, then the web page can be displayed to a user. Either embodiment can be used alone or in parallel to reduce the appearance of substantially similar elements within a web page constructed from a web archive.

Abstract: A method identifying an element in a document corresponding to an edit selected from a list of available edits to distinguish the selected edit from the other edits in the list. The identifying may reflect the type of edit, or otherwise demonstrate the change to the element effectuated by the edit. Multiple edits may be selected and temporarily highlighted or otherwise identified in chronological order to demonstrate the effect of multiple edits on the elements of the document.

Abstract: A sheet preview system generates a print preview of a sheet that has a layout specifying a position and orientation for each page. To generate the print preview of the sheet, the sheet preview system displays a representation of the sheet that includes an image of each page of the sheet. The sheet preview system positions and orients the images in accordance with the layout of the sheet. The sheet preview system then displays in association with each displayed image of a page the page number of that page. The sheet preview system may orient the page number of the page in accordance with the orientation of the page.

Abstract: Systems and methods for cash positioning and cash reporting are preferably provided. A system for cash reporting and cash positioning according to the invention may include a controller module and a web service module. The controller module may be adapted to receive a selection to update a data store. The web service module may be adapted to receive a call from the controller module. The call from the controller module may be sent in response to the selection to update the data store. The web service module may be configured to retrieve bank account information data in response to the call from the controller module.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence methods and systems for triggering the generation of narratives are disclosed. Specific embodiments relate to real-time evaluation and automated generation of narrative stories based on received data. For example, data can be tested against data representative of a plurality of story angles to determine whether a narrative story incorporating one or more such story angles is to be automatically generated.

Abstract: Automated comparison of Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) documents for revision mark-up includes reading document data from first and second DITA documents into respective document object model trees of nodes, and identifying and collapsing emphasis subtree nodes in the trees into their parent nodes, the collapsing caching emphasis data from the identified subtree nodes. A traversal transforms the model trees into respective node lists and captures adjacent sibling emphasis subtree nodes as single text nodes. The node lists are merged into a merged node list that recognizes matches node pairs having primary sort key information and document structure metadata meeting a match threshold, with differences between matching tokens of the node pairs saved. A merged document object model built from the refined merged node list is transformed into a hypertext mark-up language document.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus acquires a structured document containing a plurality of elements, specifies, in accordance with an instruction from a user, a partial element group from the plurality of elements contained in the acquired structured document, and selects, in accordance with the content of each of the plurality of elements included in the specified element group, an output-target element from the plurality of elements included in the element group.

Abstract: Embodiments of a computer system which determines information associated with documents are described. During operation, this computer system receives documents (such as images). Then, the computer system determines a first set of editing instructions and classification information associated with the documents using data-processing software. Next, the computer system receives a second set of editing instructions and classification information associated with the documents. Note that the second set of editing instructions and classification information are generated by a group of individuals and include modifications and additions to the first set of editing instructions and classification information.

Abstract: A system and method for real time video streaming from a device through a website to a designated group for security, personal, entertainment or commercial applications and to enable responses from those recipients comprises a server operable to bi-directionally communicate with the device and other devices, which are operable to bi-directionally communicate with the server and a module on the server operable to receive notice of an upstream from the device and authenticate a log-in of the device, e.g., a user, transmit content of the upstream to the website, transmit the notice of the upstream to either Designated Recipient Groups or pre-determined recipients, display the content of the upstream on the website, in response to requests, enable placement of information such as advertising and publicity in the content, and enable responses to the content, such as communicating with the user, posting comments, conducting electronic commerce, making appointments and making reservations.

Abstract: A method and system for producing and working with transcripts according to the invention eliminates time inefficiencies. By dispersing a source recording to a transcription team in small segments, so that team members transcribe segments in parallel, a rapid transcription process delivers a fully edited transcript within minutes. Clients can view accurate, grammatically correct, proofread and fact-checked documents that shadow live proceedings by mere minutes. The rapid transcript includes time coding, speaker identification and summary. A viewer application allows a client to view a video recording side-by-side with a transcript. Clicking on a word in the transcript locates the corresponding recorded content; advancing a recording to a particular point locates and displays the corresponding spot in the transcript. The recording is viewed using common video features, and may be downloaded. The client can edit the transcript and insert comments. Any number of colleagues can view and edit simultaneously.

Abstract: A system redacts content in a multi-layered document by executing a content modifier process that redacts a first portion of content in a source layer and then automatically redacts related content in at least one target layer. The content modifier process overlays the source redaction region on corresponding areas of other layers in the document to identify target redaction regions in those other layers that contain target content. In turn, the content modifier process automatically identifies and redacts the target content within target redaction regions.

Abstract: A certification application automatically generates a certification document associated with a service. A transformation module retrieves a component information associated with a status of a service from a data store maintaining the component information. The component security data and component metadata is included within the component information. The component information is transformed for insertion into a certification information. Risk analysis, phraseology, and localization data is used to transform the component information. The certification document is generated based on the certification template by inserting the component information into the certification template.

The method includes filing a request to start a project on a project management system. The method further includes receiving notice that role handlers have been assigned to a plurality of tasks required to complete the project. Abstract: Various features and processes related to document collaboration are disclosed. In some implementations, animations are presented when updating a local document display to reflect changes made to the document at a remote device. In some implementations, a user can selectively highlight changes made by collaborators in a document. In some implementations, a user can select an identifier associated with another user to display a portion of a document that includes the other user's cursor location. In some implementations, text in document chat sessions can be automatically converted into hyperlinks which, when selected, cause a document editor to perform an operation.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a synthesizing unit which synthesizes a drawn image drawn on a displayed image on a display device with the displayed image; a content data receiving unit which receives content data; a content data conversion unit which converts the received content data to image data; an external snapshot generation unit which generates an external snapshot to be displayed on the display unit based on the converted image data and stores the external snapshot in a storage unit; and a display control unit which displays the synthesized image by the synthesizing unit on the display device and also displays an object corresponding to the external snapshot in a selectable manner so that the external snapshot is displayed on the display device when the object is selected.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus include a priority information assigning unit configured to assign priority information indicating priority between a first area and a second area of a recording medium in an overlapping area of the areas to at least one of gloss-control plane data and clear plane data. The gloss-control plane data is used for specifying the first area to which a surface effect is to be applied and specifying a density value corresponding to a type of the surface effect. The clear plane data is used for specifying the second area in which a transparent image is to be formed and specifying a density value of the transparent image. The apparatus also includes a clear toner plane generating unit configured to generate clear toner plane clear toner plane data based on the gloss-control plane data and the clear plane data.

Abstract: Methods and devices receive instructions to print (on print media sheets) a booklet from a document, and automatically format the booklet to arrange multiple pages of the document to print on each of the print media sheets by performing duplex printing with multiple pages of the document being printed on each side of the print media sheets. The methods and devices automatically determine the number of blank page locations of the pages of the document occurring on the last pages of the booklet, and output a message that identifies the number of blank page locations and an option to relocate the blank page locations to different locations within the booklet. The methods and devices then receive a response regarding relocating at least one of the blank page locations, and automatically reformat the booklet to reposition the blank page locations.

Abstract: Configurations for only transmitting modified files in a file system update over a network to a target computer system are provided. The target computer system can store a root file system on a storage device. The subject technology determines differences between a previous image of the root file system and a new (e.g., updated) image of the root file system. When a file has not been updated or modified, the subject technology does not transmit the file in an update over the network to the target computer system. The root file system includes metadata that at least describes the location of each file on the storage device. For a file in which the position is preserved (i.e., unchanged), the location metadata for that file is not changed. The subject technology therefore forgoes transmitting the unmodified metadata over the network.

Abstract: An image providing device includes a page information transmission unit that outputs a first page to be displayed on a client terminal and an image output unit that outputs images contained in the first page to the client terminal and then outputs a second composite image combining images, other than the images contained in the first page, of a plurality of images contained in a second page to the client terminal. This avoids that an image contained in common in the first page and the second page is redundantly output to the client terminal. This thus reduces the number of transfers of images.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for visual definitions of data associations. In accordance with one implementation, a method is provided for visual definitions of data associations. The method includes obtaining and displaying a first sample document, receiving a first input indicating selection of one or more objects within the first sample document, and determining a first set of one or more characteristics shared by the selected objects. The method also includes identifying, within one or more target documents, one or more target objects characterized by the first set of one or more characteristics, and storing object data associated with the target objects.

Abstract: The present invention relates to new and improved embodiments of systems and methods for using a “pen” input as a temporary pointer to highlight a portion of a document and having the “ink” disappear. In embodiments, a method and system for temporarily marking a portion of a document comprises sending a marking directive that produces a visual indicia on a document being viewed on two or more display devices connected over a network, waiting a period of time, and automatically erasing the visual indicia on the document being viewed on the two or more display devices.

The one or more server devices may determine whether the particular document has been flagged as needing comments, and retrieve an author likelihood score for the particular user when the particular document has been flagged as needing comment. The one or more server devices may determine whether the retrieved author likelihood score is greater than a particular threshold, and provide a suggestion to the user to write a comment about the particular document when the author likelihood score is greater than the particular threshold.

Abstract: A reference-management tool facilitates managing prior art references relating to one or more patent applications, which may be represented by matters. Interfaces can be presented to users to enable the users to group matters into clans, to associate references with matters, to automatically generate information disclosure statements (IDSs) and to track citations of references.

Abstract: Tools and techniques support troubleshooting live application visuals, including transient markup expression issues in XAML or HTML. A LADRT module supports troubleshooting without pausing application execution to help inspect and modify visual construct properties, and to identify and alter source code pertaining to a selected visual construct. Changes are serialized back to the application program source code and reflected in real time in the executing application, without a rebuild. Markup annotation preserves pre-evaluation versions of markup expressions for binding, static resource identification, and custom purposes. Markup annotation also correlates visual constructs and source code. The LADRT module operates independently of debuggers, and may autoload with the application. Program project and source code changes are not required for troubleshooting capability.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing a preview of an editor action related to a suggested edit of an electronic document. A first user provides a suggested edit to the electronic document, and the suggested edit to the electronic document is displayed to a second user of the electronic document. The second user provides a user input that is indicative of a desire to preview a result of the editor action on the suggested edit, such as an acceptance or a rejection of the suggested edit. Then, before the second user performs the editor action, a preview of the result of the editor action is provided to the second user in response to detecting the user input.

Abstract: There are provided a system and method for resource adaptive, real-time new event detection. The method includes capturing, from among documents in a document streaming environment, first-story documents that mention previously unmentioned events. The method further includes dynamically adjusting a thoroughness of the capturing step by controlling a number of keywords and documents considered according to a real-time system load.

Abstract: Editing apparatus and an editing method for editing a plurality of files, which are recorded on a storage part and correspond to one shot. The user determines that the first Webpage is related to the second Webpage. The computer processor receives a specification command indicating that the first Webpage is related to the second Webpage and in response the computer processor associates the first link with the second link. The computer processor stores the first link associated with the second link and generates a report indicating that the first link is related to the second link.

Abstract: A web-based system, method and program product are provided for adding content to a content object stored (e.g., a custom compilation or prepublished work) in a data repository as a group of hierarchically related content entities. Each noncontainer content object is preferably stored as a separate entity in the data repository. Each content entity is also stored as a row in a digital library index class as a collection of attributes and references to related content entities and containers. As the user selects desired objects for inclusion in a content object, the system arranges the objects hierarchically, e.g., into volumes, chapters and sections according to the order specified by the user. The system then creates a file object (e.g., a CBO) defining the content object that contains a list or outline of the container and noncontainer entities selected, their identifiers, order and structure. This file object is stored separately in the data repository.

Abstract: Tools and techniques are described for providing multi-lingual word hyphenation using inductive machine learning on training data. Methods provided by these techniques may receive training data that includes hyphenated words, and may inductively generate hyphenation patterns that represent substrings of these words. The hyphenation patterns may include the substrings and hyphenation codes associated with characters occurring in the substrings. The methods may receive induction parameters applicable to generating the hyphenation patterns, and may store the hyphenation patterns into a language-specific lexicon file. These methods may also receive requests to hyphenate input words that occur in a human language, and may evaluate how to process the request based on the language. The methods may search for hyphenation patterns occurring in the input words, with the hyphenation patterns being stored in the lexicon file.

Abstract: A device and a method for annotating content is provided. The device may comprise a means to analyze the content (150) and generate a first output (205) based upon the analysis of the content, a means to generate an annotation request (230), a means to communicate (130), the means to communicate being adapted to distribute the annotation request to at least one other device and to receive an annotation result from the at least one other device and a means to combine (240) the first output and the annotation result to provide an improved output. By combining multiple independent results of content analysis algorithms from different devices, possibly based upon background different knowledge a higher quality result is provided for the annotation.

Objects can also be selected with the tool, and multiple areas can also be selected in the same way, all of which can be of any shape that the user desires.

The present invention provides a client or web-based interface to effectively integrate word processor and bibliographic management software and other resources, including third-party authority databases.

The model and a portion of the system are stored on a storage component coupled to a terminal. The system captures context information and user-defined data, the user-defined data provided during user interaction of the user in a first domain of the network, and dynamically stores the context information as metadata associated with the user-defined data, the user-defined data and the metadata stored on the storage component; a tracking component for tracking a change of the user from the first domain to a second domain of the network and dynamically updating the stored metadata based on the change, where the user accesses the user-defined data from the second domain; and an interface to the system that permits the user to create and view the user-defined data according to the model of the network.

Abstract: A system and method for obtaining information embedded in unstructured text is provided. The method comprising generating computer-readable annotations based on the unstructured text, at least one of the computer-readable annotations comprising an indication of a linguistic feature. A pair of the computer-readable annotations may be used to generate at least one computer-readable relation between the pair. The annotations and/or relations may be stored as characteristic data structures in a database. A query comprising at least one criterion may be received. In response to the query, an information result may be generated based on at least one of the characteristic data structures stored in the database.

Abstract: The template creation system enables a graphical selection of one or more fields from within a database system. The template creation system identifies a source format of the received fields that can be exported from the database system. The template creation system identifies a target format readable by a document editing system. For example, the document editing system may be a word processing application that stores files in an application-specific format. The template creation system creates one or more template rules based on the identified source and target formats for converting the data from the source format to the target format. The template rules may then be stored in an XSLT style sheet.

Abstract: A system and related method for the electronic processing of text onto a two-dimensional coordinate system to analyze the attitudinal mindset associated with the text. The system and related method may also be employed to generate text based on a desired attitudinal mindset to impart. The system includes a computer system embodying functions that enable a user to analyze the text. The system includes one or more functions to parse attitudinal words and objective words and associate two-dimensional coordinates with the subjective words. The system further includes one or more functions for mapping the associated two-dimensional coordinates to show the geographic locations of each attitudinal word of the text in relation to each other attitudinal word of the text. The system decomposes attitudinal words into attitudinal equivalence and reference category and enables the generation of a report of the mindset associated with the analyzed text.
