Abstract: Collaborative web pages are enabled which allow every page on a website to be editable by an author and by others the author lets access the site. Web pages can send and receive email messages. Users can attach files to pages. Structure queries and page-building are enabled by use of various forms and form elements.

Abstract: A document authoring program provides different views of a document opened by a user. In the editing view, the user can view the document contents and edit the contents in using a menu bar. In the semantic zoom view, the user is presented with a heading pane and a thumbnail pane and the menu bar is removed. The user can toggle from the editing view to the semantic zoom view by zooming out past a defined threshold using various user interface controls. Once the threshold is exceeded, the semantic view is presented. The editing view is returned to by selecting a heading or a thumbnail page, which respectively returns the user the page incorporating the selected heading or to the page incorporating the selected heading. This page will be displayed in the editing view at the same zoom level prior to toggling to the semantic zoom view.

Abstract: This application provides a method and system of evidence preservation for digital documents. The method comprises: converting, by a client, the digital document to a document code, which is uniquely corresponding to the digital document; uploading, from the client, the document code and first attribute information of the client to a server, wherein the first attribute information includes user information and geographical position information of the client; and incorporating, by the server, second attribute information into the document code and the first attribute information to form a code file, and preserving the code file in a code file database of the server, wherein the second attribute information includes time information indicating when the document code is received by the server; wherein when contents of the digital document are changed, contents of the document code are changed accordingly.

Abstract: A system and method is described for customizing commercial-quality movies, books, and other products and media. An interface is employed to guide customers through the customization process, presenting a menu of available movies, books, products, and other offerings, as well as providing customers with the ability to continuously or discretely adjust a wide range of physical attributes to improve resemblance between them and their characters. A high degree of customization is achieved through the selective adjustment of the transparency of two-dimensional layers, through the manipulation of three-dimensional models, or through a combination thereof. Files size is kept to a minimum by recursively adding categories of body components to a base file. A dynamic database of body components is structured for easy expansion and so as to allow characters to migrate easily between artistic styles.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a non-transitory machine-readable medium that stores a document authoring application which when executed by at least one processing unit provides a graphical user interface (“GUI”) for the document authoring application. The GUI includes a display area for displaying a document being authored. The GUI also includes a document authoring tool for adding to the document a floatable content control. The floatable content control includes (1) a content display area for displaying content specified for the floatable content control and (2) a selectable user interface item (UI) that when selected causes the document authoring application to display the content display area. The floatable content control for display by a document viewing application such that the document viewing application displays the specified content through the content display area when the document viewing application receives a selection of the UI item.

Abstract: In various embodiments of the present invention, documents (eg, PDFs) are converted into HTML 5 (and CSS 3) formats and integrated into existing HTML 5 web pages to preserve the original embedded fonts. The fonts can also be integrated or embedded (e.g., via the standard HTML “iframe” tag) into other web pages. The original appearance of the source document is maintained, the text is preserved as searchable text, and the document is integrated into a web page that can be searched, zoomed, scrolled, and printed utilizing standard web browser controls. A significantly increased “ad inventory” is thereby enabled, wherein advertisements can be integrated between pages, or even within a page. Moreover, the resulting document can be passively shared with members of a user's external social networks (including those within the host website), along with other activities and behaviors performed by the user on the hosting website.

Abstract: A system and method for document editing. A system includes an operator input device, a processor, gesture recognition program, and an edit mode program. The operator input device that senses gestures and multiple simultaneous touch points. The processor is coupled to the operator input device. The processor executes the gesture recognition program, which recognizes inputs from the input device. The gesture recognition program recognizes a predetermined edit mode gesture and, based only on the gesture, causes the processor to execute the edit mode program. The edit mode program provides a plurality of document editing functions for modifying a currently displayed document.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus that controls reproduction of contents includes: a first storage means for storing contents and attribute data indicating predetermined attributes of the contents so as to correspond to each other; a second storage means for storing association among the attribute data; and a selection means for selecting a second content to be reproduced subsequent to a first content which is being reproduced or whose reproduction has been instructed. Abstract: A system and technique for displaying a document's workflow history are disclosed. The system includes a graphical user interface for displaying one or more graphical representations of events generated by an application configured to edit a document. Each of the events generated by the application may be stored in a data structure that is associated with one or more portions of the document. The data structure may also be associated with a digital image that reflects the state of the document at the time the event was generated and one or more frames of digital video captured substantially simultaneously with the generation of the event. The system may display the stored events via graphical representations in the graphical user interface that represent a portion of the total document workflow history. A user may navigate through the graphical events based on a hierarchical algorithm for clustering events.

Abstract: Computer software applications presently allow the User to preview the impact of some commands on active documents via a small preview window. However, such preview windows are not representative of how the command will impact the entire document. The invention provides a method and system of efficiently and effectively previewing the impact of User commands on the entire document by executing User commands as they are identified. Leaving the menu open, the User is able to identify successive commands until the desired result is reached. Embodiments are described for execution of general commands, text editing commands, relocations of margins or guidelines, and relocations of graphic objects.

Abstract: A security system includes an interface, a main computer, and an application server. The interface enables a user to access a remote document related to a product. The main computer stores documents related to the product and generates a pair of localized encryption keys. The encryption keys include a first key that encrypts data and second key that decrypts the data. An application server that is remote from the interface transmits and receives the document from the interface. The main computer authenticates the integrity of the document in a local operation by signing the document with the first key before it is transmitted to the interface and by signing the document with the second key after it is received from the interface.

Abstract: Documentation having code samples is managed. Documentation describing programming code for a software product is received. The documentation references a code sample having an associated test module for determining whether the code sample is valid. The code sample is tested by executing the associated test module to produce a test result indicating whether the code sample is valid. The documentation, code sample, and test result are stored. The documentation, code sample, and test result may be provided to a client adapted to display the code sample and test result to a user of the client. Invalid code samples in the documentation may be identified using the test modules and the invalid code samples may be replaced to make the code samples valid.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus of generating document content are disclosed. Document content is generated by identifying a location in a document at which to insert content, the location associated with a content template, generating the content in accordance with the content template and application data generated by an application, and inserting the content into the document at the location in the document. The document content generation can further include retrieving application data from the application in accordance with a data mapping that maps application output data to the application data references in the template, where generating the content comprises generating text by replacing application data references in the template with the application data in accordance with the data mapping. The document content generation can further include retrieving one or more instances of previous application data from a historical record of previous application output.

Abstract: An electronic document includes header, view, data, and signature sections. The data section provides data typically processed in transactions involving the electronic document. The view section includes presentation formatting for displays corresponding to the data. Linking elements identify corresponding main data values and view data values respectively used to populate the data section and display presentation formatting, and are accessible for determining whether the data in the display and data section, providing assurances that processed data matches that found in documents used by parties to a transaction. A digital signature section allows a digital signature to be provided, and used to wrap that data and view sections, to ensure authenticity. The header section provides document type, state and other information that is readily accessed without otherwise scanning the electronic document.

Abstract: According to this invention, bookbinding data containing pages created by respective applications can be constructed regardless of the type of application. Even when one or more desired pages contained in bookbinding data are selected, image editing is designated, but a non-image page exists in the selected pages, the non-image page can be excluded from editing targets, and the process can shift to image editing. For this purpose, when a plurality of pages are selected and image editing is designated, whether each selected page is an editable image page is determined. An editable page is temporarily stored. After all the selected pages are determined, an image editing application is activated to edit stored editable image pages.

Abstract: A method and system for processing input media for provision to a text to speech engine comprising: a rules engine configured to maintain and update rules for processing the input media; a pre-parsing filter module configured to determine one or more metadata attributes using pre-parsing rules; a parsing filter module configured to identify content component from the input media using the parsing rules; a context and language detector configured to determine a default context and a default language; a learning agent configured to divide the content component into units of interest; a tagging module configured to iteratively assign tags to the units of interest using the tagging rules, wherein each tag is associated with a post-parsing rule; a post-parsing filter module configured to modify the content component by executing the post-parsing rules identified by the tags assigned to the phrases and strings.

Abstract: Users are enabled to navigate a spreadsheet document presented by a web service in a similar fashion to a locally executed spreadsheet application by retrieving blocks of grid data asynchronously in order to display or refresh the area(s) of the spreadsheet currently being viewed by the user as the user navigates the spreadsheet grid or dynamic updates occur. The blocks are laid out in the browser's user interface to fill the user's viewport as well as a predefined buffer around the edge of the viewport. As such, when the user scrolls or updates occur, data associated with blocks are added, updated, or removed in the browser as required to fill the user's viewport.

Abstract: A system and method for providing management such as creation, manipulation, storage, control, and retrieval of digital content for a company on a global basis. Digital content is created and stored in, for example, the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format using the relationship between component mapping information and content information comprising webpage components. The XML data is developed by defining page components, mapping the components on a page and indexing the page for future retrieval of the page. The data is then stored in a single database, as segments related to the page, for call-up by a user.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a client accesses enterprise portal content from an enterprise portal server. The client also accesses supplemental content directly from a supplemental server. The supplemental server may, for example, be associated with a browser-based collaboration and/or document-management platform. Abstract: A frequency converter includes a symbol string editor in which the potential input symbols are grouped into at least two symbol lists. One of the lists is treated as a current symbol list, which can be scrolled and from which the symbols can be selected as the user input. In addition, a user is allowed to control change of the current symbol list such that the symbols in all of the symbol lists are available for selection. This arrangement allows for scrollable lists to be significantly shorter than a single list of potential symbols would be, which makes entering symbol strings faster.

Abstract: In some embodiments, communications in a private network are programmatically inspected to identify traffic associated with uncontrolled Web applications originating from outside of the private network. Unstructured data, including messages and application content, originating from such uncontrolled Web Applications may be disassembled, analyzed, and categorized into application element types. In some embodiments, these application element types may be source specific. An example of a source would be a social networking site operating on a public network such as the Internet. The application element types thus generated can then be utilized in a variety of ways to facilitate the entity operating the private network to, for instance, control, monitor, archive, categorize, and moderate communications between its users and social networking sites operating outside the entity's private network.

Abstract: A method, medium and implementing processing system are provided for book marking a combination of frame URLs within a frameset and allowing the sharing on multiple PCs the saved form data that may have been filled in. The system uses an image as a hotspot, containing a complex target destination in the form of an XML structure with multiple URLs for multiple frames as well as captured form data. This system combines file types such as XML and JPG, e.g. as in sample file name ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.JPG’ or ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.GIF’. This combination provides a surprising effect compared to the prior systems, namely, launching the image in an enhanced web browser or in a web browser containing a new plug-in, displays the frame just as it was when saved, including frame set and data input to displayed forms.

Abstract: A method for facilitating the processing of markup language documents, e.g., XML documents, uses a code generator that creates programs configured to read dynamic XML documents at run time, avoiding many of the complexities arising from the use of conventional “XML Parse” statements. The document is analyzed according to a set of attributes. The document is restructured to form a restructured document such that user can directly access the preferred part of the restructured document without having to sequentially process the restructured document. Abstract: A method for creating and sending customized cards to members on a list can include steps for designing a first card, creating a member list and dividing the member list into at least two groups. The first card can initially be associated with all members included in the member list. A second card can be designed and can be based, at least in part, on the first card. A data file can be created that can include the first and second card designs and association information regarding the card designs and the member groups.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods enable a user to train an extraction model by receiving a starting document and input from the user indicating tagged data from the starting document and creating an extraction model from the tagged data. Disclosed systems and methods also include identifying groups of additional documents based on a location of the starting document and displaying each of the groups to the user in order to receive a selection of at least one group from the user. Disclosed systems and methods also include applying the extraction model to the at least one group by evaluating the additional documents associated with the at least one group based on the extraction model to determine a confidence score for each of the additional documents, determining a document with a low confidence score, and displaying the particular document to the user to receive additional tagged data.

Abstract: A data format provides a mechanism to dynamically change the appearance of an application. During operation, the application obtains streaming feed data for presentation to a user. The feed data may be formatted according to a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) data format. The application detects, within the feed data, branding extensions that identify branding content to be displayed concurrently with channel data and content items when a user selects a channel defined by the feed data. The application detects a user selection of the channel defined by the feed data, and in response, references the branding extensions to obtain and display the branding content within a display region of the application that is separate from the content presentation region of the application for display of content items defined within the feed data.

Abstract: A technique involves allowing use of content only if the content has been approved for the use. The content can be stored in a universal content format to facilitate cross-platform approval in a single approval transaction. The content can include granular content items incorporated into larger documents. In a specific implementation, it is possible to grant approval for one or more of the granular content items.

Abstract: A document editing tool that allows splitting a primary clause of a document template tree into a first split clause and a second split clause based on a set of instructions is provided. The set of instructions include (a) processing a first selection of the primary clause from the document template tree, (b) replicating the primary clause to obtain a first replicate clause and a second replicate clause, c) deleting a sub-set of content from a content in the first replicate clause to obtain the first split clause, and d) deleting a sub-set of content from a content in the second replicate clause to obtain the second split clause. A computer system stores configuration templates that each identify a mapping of an object type to a markup language document type. The computer system displays a list of the at least some attributes and, for each of the attributes, the associated markup language attribute or element that is identified by the selected configuration template. The computer system receives second user input that changes an association of one of the attributes so that the attribute is instead associated with a different markup language attribute or element. The computer system stores an updated mapping of the object type to the markup language document type.

Abstract: Browsing sequence phrase identification technique embodiments are presented that generally extract topically-related phrases from the pages visited by a user in a browsing session. The topically-related phrases can be used for a variety of purposes, including aiding a user in re-finding previously visited sites. This phrase identification task is performed by considering not just the pages of a user's browsing sequence individually, but also pages visited immediately before and immediately after each page. In this way, phrases found in a page can be analyzed in the context in which the page was viewed, rather than in isolation. The identified phrases are further filtered by picking those that appear on a pre-populated topic list, and then clustering to find the most informative ones.

Abstract: Systems and methods for document creation and management to facilitate creation of documents. An example document creation and management system is configured with an input component, a processing component, and a document creation component. A document creation and management systems can allow input of data in a customizable manner via talking (or recording), touching, typing, and/or clicking. A document creation and management system may use customizable templates, so that a user, for example a physician, may more efficiently enter and review data, such as data related to a patient encounter. A navigator may import information, such as formatting and structure information, from a template to guide a user as to the input to be provided to generate a document according to the template. Document entries may be automatically sent for processing, which may include editing, transcription, encryption, etc, in a parallel or serial fashion.

Abstract: A method for question/answer creation for a document is described. The method includes importing a document having a set of questions based on content in the document. The method also includes automatically creating a candidate question from the content in the document. The method also includes automatically generating answers for the set of questions and the candidate question using the content in the document. The method also includes presenting the set of questions, the candidate question, and the answers to a content creator for user verification of accuracy. The method also includes storing a verified set of questions in the document. The verified set of questions includes the candidate question.

Abstract: Object merging in an electronic document may be provided. First, a selection of at least two objects within the electronic document may be received. Then, in response to the received selection of the at least two objects, a menu listing a plurality of merge operations configured to be performed on the selected at least two objects may be provided. A merge operation may then be selected, previewed, and applied to the selected at least two objects.

Abstract: The disclosed methods and systems provide a computer content creation application that allows movement and use of components between editing contexts. Different editing contexts may result where the content utilizes instances of one or more components that are defined outside the outer context in which the instances are used. In another example, different editing contexts result where components are, for one reason or another, stored in separate locations. Embodiments disclosed herein further facilitate developing and using of multi-editing context computer content by providing techniques for organizing parts of content according to content editing context. Other embodiments organize such parts based on the particular editing and use functionality available in a current editing context. Certain embodiments simplify and facilitate a user's ability to move components from an outer or general context into another context, such as into a particular component's instance definition.
