Abstract: A content playback device includes: a video playback unit which plays content having plural scenes; an object appearance information acquisition unit which acquires, for each of the plural scenes, object appearance information of each of one or more objects which appear in the content by analyzing metadata which includes appearance scene data for identifying the one or more objects appearing in at least one of the scenes, the object appearance information indicating whether the object appears at least in or after the scene; and a display unit which presents the object appearance information acquired for a scene being played, when the video playback unit is playing the content.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the application provide a method for starting an Activity of a mobile terminal and the mobile terminal. The method may comprise: determining a display mode of a new Activity after determining that the new Activity is required to be started; and setting a window flag for starting the Activity according to the determined display mode so as to start the Activity in the display mode indicated by the window flag; where the display mode comprises a window mode and a full-screen mode.

Abstract: Multiple schemes and techniques for facilitating presentations with an interactive application are described. For example, an interactive application provides a console view overlay for integrating multiple productivity applications into a graphical user interface (GUI) window. An interactive application can also share a selected display portion of the console view overlay with other interactive applications. As another example, presenters and other audience members can draw on the selected display portion being shared, and the drawn graphics are synchronously displayed by the other interactive applications. Interactive applications, as directed by their users, can join various member groups and specific presentations thereof. Moreover, a user may share content in accordance with membership grouping.

Abstract: An artifact repository can be queried for a set of different pre-existing presentation artifacts based on requirements and constraints of a presentation event to produce a query result. The query result can comprise a set of presentation artifacts suitable for satisfying at least a portion of the requirements and constraints. The querying can match the artifact specific metadata against the requirements and constraints to produce the query result. An agenda comprising a set of different agenda items can be automatically constructed utilizing the query result. Each of the different agenda items can occupy a time slot of the presentation event. Creation of agenda items can be a non-manual effort automatically determined by a computing device in a data driven manner given the requirements, the constraints, and the pre-existing presentation artifacts of the artifact repository. Resources for the different agenda items can be automatically booked.

Abstract: A method for demonstrating a domestic appliance, the domestic appliance having a controller, a display, and at least one user input component, the method comprising: displaying a plurality of images in accordance with a predetermined order on the display; while displaying a first image of the plurality of images in accordance with the predetermined order on the display, detecting at least one user input that is provided to the at least one user input component; responsive to the at least one user input, displaying a second image of the plurality of images that is associated with the at least one user input on the display for an amount of time; and subsequent to the amount of time, displaying the plurality of images on the display in accordance with the predetermined order resuming with a third image, said second image being different from said first image and said third image.

Abstract: A method for dynamic presentations management of electronic presentations including multiple slides, wherein each slide has at least one presentation constraint parameter assigned thereto, and wherein a presentation software is used for generating and displaying the presentation can include gathering metadata regarding the presentation by the presentation software, evaluating the metadata regarding the presentation and determining at least one presentation constraint parameter by the presentation software, and automatically arranging and/or selecting slides and/or modifying a content of slides according to the determined at least one presentation constraint parameter to be presented by use of the presentation software.

Abstract: A user location-based display method and apparatus are provided. The display method includes the steps of determining a location of a user relative to a display apparatus, configuring and displaying a screen based on the location of the user, selectively extracting user information based on the location of the user, and changing the displayed screen based on the extracted user information. As a result, a realistic interaction is possible between the display apparatus and the user, and the user is provided with contents in a very effective manner. The user location-based display apparatus includes a location recognizing unit which determines a location of a user relative to the display apparatus. A control unit causes a screen to be configured and displayed based on the location of the user; causes user information to be selectively extracted based on the location of the user, and is configured to cause a displayed screen to be changed based on the extracted user information.

Abstract: Systems and methods may detect a proximity of one or more client devices to a venue that provides ambient music and generate an anonymous playlist based on preference data associated with the one or more client devices. Additionally, the anonymous playlist may be sent to the venue. In one example, one or more additional venue suggestions are sent to at least one of the one or more client devices based on the preference data and one or more playlists associated with the one or more additional venues.

Abstract: A media item selection application is provided for use with computing devices. The media item selection application is configured to identify media items that have significant similarities in metadata values, such as location and time period. The media item selection application is further configured to visualize similar media items as a group, depicted as a section within a collection or gallery, in which each group is a suggestion for a natural collection of media items representing an event. Where media items do not fall within a group of a particular size with significant similarities, groups are consolidated to create a second type of collection which covers a time-period between two significant groups. Further, the media item selection application is configured to depict media items that show extraordinary similarity as a virtual stack of all such media items.

Abstract: A hosted system provides any Internet user with the ability to quickly set up and customize a video channel, preferably as a web page or site that can be reached from any Internet-accessible device having a browser. The solution includes tools for use by channel site creators to customize look, feel, and page design. A particular web page or site may be associated with a given subject. A page or site that has such an association is sometimes referred to as “subject-specific.” Once a subject-specific channel is created, a site administrator or individual visitors can search and choose to bring those search results into the channel architecture. The system also enables a multiplatform search, and search results may be automatically populated into the channel content. The system enables the characterization of the material returned, preferably according to a user-generated taxonomy.

Abstract: A user can search for photographs or videos and deep linking rules may be applied to images to discern images that might be desired by the user that otherwise would not be returned using conventional photo categorization and metadata searching.

Abstract: A method of accessing an image database containing location data and determining one or more clusters of the digital images based on their location data. A hotspot location is determined for representing the cluster of the digital images and the results are stored for later access. The computer is connected to a network and receives data from a device including data identifying a current location. After determining that the device is within a selected notification distance from the hotspot location, a notification is transmitted over the network.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the operation of the same are provided. A list screen including a list, in which a plurality of items is arranged in a first order is displayed on a display module. The list in which the plurality of items is arranged in reverse order of the first order is displayed upon receiving a multi-sequence input performed by touching a first item through a second region of the list screen while the first item is being touched through a first region thereof. It is possible to control various operations on the mobile terminal using a multi-sequence input that is performed such that a second touch input is performed through a second region of the screen while a first touch input is being performed through a first region.

Abstract: A mobile device application is described that runs on a mobile device and allows a user to log in to the user's account on a presentation server. The user can download previously stored presentations to the local memory of the mobile device to make an in-person offline presentation from the mobile device. While the user is making the presentation, the mobile device application tracks analytic data pertaining to the slide presentation, such as how long each slide is open and viewed. This analytic data is uploaded to the server when an internet connection is available for integration with other data tracked for the presentation.

Abstract: A process for creating a media sequence, for example video or audio, and an associated device includes the stages of: obtaining a selection of media files; regrouping the chosen media files into a plurality of groups according to at least one coherence criterion; selecting, for each group of media files assembled in this way, a media motif among a plurality of predefined media motifs, the chosen media motif being able to define a media rendering for the set of media files of the group; and assembling the media motifs selected in this way and their associated media files in such a way as to form at least one definition of the media sequence. The process can relate to automated video editing as implemented on Web servers.

Abstract: A computer executes a presentation file to display a presentation frame. An input device generates an input signal in response to a user's operation to have the computer execute a presentation control instruction. There is a signal processing protocol between a remote driver of the computer and a server driver of another computer, wherein the two computers are communicable with each other via a network, for standardizing a packing process and an unpacking process of the input signal. The server driver executes the packing process of the input signal according to the signal processing protocol and transmits the processed input signal out to the another computer. The remote driver executes the unpacking process of the input signal to have the another computer execute the presentation control instruction on the presentation frame. In this manner, the another computer may display the same presentation frame as that displayed by the computer.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for viewing presentations in a condensed animation mode in which a presentation program condenses or accelerates animations or effects within the presentation while maintaining the animations and effects associated with the presentation. The presentation program is configured to enter into a condensed animation mode and to render a slide of the presentation. In some embodiments, the presentation program waits for user input before playing an accelerated or condensed version of the animations and/or effects. In other embodiments, the presentation program plays the condensed or accelerated version upon rendering the slide without requiring further user input. If user input is received, the presentation program can be configured to wait for the animation sequence to complete before proceeding to the next slide and/or can interrupt playback of the animation sequence and proceed to the next slide of the presentation immediately.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for managing content, such as content captured by a mobile device, are provided. The apparatus and method include receiving a plurality of content, which includes tag information, e.g., date and location information and an identifier for the mobile device. In addition, the apparatus and methods may include automatically grouping the content based on the tag information, and automatically labeling the content based on the tag information. For example, determined groupings of the content may be placed into folders and labeled based upon the tag information.

Abstract: Methods and systems of customizing a photobook by page arrangement and spread generation are disclosed. In one embodiment, the present invention creates an automatic grid preview of spreads, comprising pages, after a user of the user device completes a photo upload. In the grid preview, the user can swap a spread with another spread (spread location change), swap a photo from a spread with another photo from another spread (photo location change), create a new spread from a detached photo of an existing spread, add a new photo to a spread, and delete a photo from a spread. Unused photos and spreads may be stored in a temporary storage area in a manner that the unused photos and the spreads may be conveniently accessed anytime during the photobook creation process. The invention reduces friction points to purchase a photobook and increases user satisfaction with the photobook creation and customization process.

Abstract: A content delivery system including a subscriber controller and cache, a source controller configured to transmit content to the subscriber controller and cache via a multicast transmission; and a network content delivery controller (NCDC) in communication with the subscriber controller and cache and source controller. A control plane is used to communicate the delivery of control information using Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) between the subscriber controller and cache, source controller, and NCDC.

The plurality of metadata groups include metadata regarding images included in an image group that corresponds to the plurality of metadata groups.

Abstract: Monitoring user activity on a mobile device is described. In one aspect, video content is received and played to a user of the mobile device. The monitoring activity detects an interruption of playback of the video content and determines an event associated with the interruption. The event is stored in the mobile device and communicated to a remote device.

Abstract: A teleprompter system and method include use of a touch-screen interface positioned intermediate to the user and a camera such that the camera captures the user's image through a transparency of the touch-screen interface. The touch screen interface is coupled to a computer and is operably connected so as to enable user control and manipulation of interactive media content generated by the computer. A video mixing component integrates images captured by the camera with interactive media content generated by the computer, as may be manipulated by the user via the touch-screen interface, to generate a coordinated presentation. The coordinated presentation can be received by one or more remote devices. The remote devices can further interact with at least the interactive media content.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for creating and editing dynamic graphics via a World Wide Web (“Web”) interface. A Web service is provided for generating dynamic graphics in response to requests received from client computers. In response to requests from client computers, the Web service generates requested dynamic graphics and returns the generated dynamic graphics to the client computers in response to the requests. Parameters may be provided to the Web service indicating a list of text items, a layout type, a visual style, a color, and other aspects of a dynamic graphic. A user interface is also provided for creating and editing a dynamic graphic within a Web browser application.

Abstract: A method for displaying at least one image from a set of images while a computerized device such as a Smartphone is charging. The method, which will often be a software implemented method such as a downloadable Smartphone “app” will generally comprise using the Smartphone's graphical user interface to select a set of images to display while said Smartphone is charging, and also using the Smartphone's graphical user interface to determine a set of parameters to use to control the display of these images while the Smartphone is charging. The invention's software will additionally determine the charging status of the Smartphone. In operation, while the Smartphone is charging, the software will then display these images, often according to the previously entered set of parameters used to control the display of these images.

A method for doing so may involve receiving connected display information that describes the electronic displays currently connected to the electronic device. When the connected display information indicates that multiple electronic displays are currently connected, the processor of the electronic device may automatically choose, without explicit user assignment, a main presentation display and one or more presenter displays. The main presentation display may display a slide presentation from among the multiple electronic displays, while the presenter displays may display information other than only the slide presentation to aid the presenter. The main presentation display and the presenter displays may be chosen based at least in part on the connected display information.

The contextual information may include, for example, locations, time and date, calendar events, user preference or history information, or any other suitable information. Interactive pages include active regions that may be selected to access features on server applications. In another embodiment, an active region may be a presentation page that interactively exposes an application feature in the presentation page.
