Abstract: A system and method for accessing content provided by a presenter during a presentation is described. The system and method includes a presentation module used by a presenter to display presentation materials to audience members during a presentation. Also included is a selection module that allows a display of a representation of the presentation materials that have been displayed. When activated, the selection module enables an audience member to select for redisplay by the presentation module a particular one of the presentation materials.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing shared state within a distributed system with varying consistency and consensus semantics are described. In one configuration, a computing device receives a first plurality of objects representing the state of a first item and a second plurality of objects representing the state of a second item. The computing device generates a composed view of the state of each of the first item and the second item. The resulting composed views are transmitted using a reliable multicast protocol.

Abstract: A method by which a multimedia presentation editor for use on a (typically handheld) communication or computing terminal (10) interfaces with a user so as to allow the user to create or edit a presentation (20), including: a step (51) in which objects to be displayed successively when a slide (21) is displayed in play mode, are instead assembled by the editor one under another in a column (25a), and objects (22) to be displayed continuously are also assembled in a (one-object-long) column (25b); and a step (52) in which the editor displays each column (25a-b) side-by-side, corresponding to the side-by-side arrangement of respective objects in the different columns (25a-b) when the slide (21) is displayed in play mode, thus allowing some parts of the slide (21) to be fixed, and some parts (23a-c) to change—the parts having columns with more than one object. Corresponding equipment is also provided.

Abstract: Each of one or more songs in a song list is analyzed to determine whether the song satisfies a set of criteria at its current location. For each of the one or more songs that satisfies the set of criteria, the song is kept at its current location in the song list. For each of the one or more songs that does not satisfy the set of criteria, an attempt is made to select (e.g., randomly) another song in an unprocessed portion of the song list that satisfies the set of criteria. If a selected song satisfies the set of criteria then the song and the selected song are swapped. However, if greater than a threshold number of attempts to select a song that satisfies the set of criteria are made, then the song is kept at its current location in the song list.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing a presenter view in a presentation application. A determination is made, by a presentation application executing on a computer, as to whether a secondary display device is coupled to the computer. If a determination is made that the secondary display device is coupled to the computer, then the presentation application is transformed from a default configuration to a presenter configuration. If a determination has been made that the presentation is complete, then the presentation application is transformed from a presenter configuration to a default configuration.

Abstract: In an image reproduction window, an image reproduction area in which images are reproduced, and an operating area in which a slide bar is displayed are provided. When a slider of the slide bar is moved, the number of images to be displayed in one frame in the image reproduction area is increased or decreased in accordance with a position of the slider. The number of images in one frame increases as a displacement amount of the slider increases. When the slider is moved within a range in which the number of images to be displayed in one frame does not change, only a frame change interval is changed while the number of images in one frame is unchanged.

Abstract: An exemplary method comprises providing authentication information from a user of a mobile computing device to the presentation server; causing the presentation server to provide a view of a presentation to a viewer device via a viewer link, wherein the presentation is stored on the presentation server; providing a remote control interface for the user to enter a user input, wherein the remote control interface is to occupy a display of the mobile computing device; and controlling the view of the presentation in response to the user input. Among other benefits, some embodiments provided herein provides both the benefit of performing a live presentation over a network to one or more viewers and the convenience of controlling the live presentation using a presenter's mobile device (e.g., a smart phone) that a traditional remote presentation controller can bring.

Abstract: A mobile device application is described that runs on a mobile device and allows a user to log in to the user's account on a presentation server. The user can download previously stored presentations to the local memory of the mobile device to make an in-person offline presentation from the mobile device. While the user is making the presentation, the mobile device application tracks analytic data pertaining to the slide presentation, such as how long each slide is open and viewed. This analytic data is uploaded to the server when an internet connection is available for integration with other data tracked for the presentation.

Abstract: A system for providing wireless control of a visual aid based on movement detection is disclosed. The system also enables a presenter to gesture at a visual aid and have a pointer be displayed on screens displaying the visual aid. The system may generate a three-dimensional depth image of an environment including a user and a device displaying the visual aid. Additionally, the system may determine a position of the user relative to the environment and to the device based on the three-dimensional image. Furthermore, the system may detect a gesture based on the position of the user and the three-dimensional depth image. If the gesture made by the user matches a predetermined input gesture corresponding to a controller operation for controlling the visual aid, then the controller operation may be executed. The system may display an output of the executed controller operation at a remote device.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal comprises a projection module for projecting images on a projection surface external to the mobile communication terminal; a display screen on which a first image and a second image are rendered; a user interface to allow a user interact with the mobile communication terminal; and a controller to process information, in response to user interaction with the user interface to generate an output via the projection module; wherein the user interacts with the user interface to cause at least the first image to be projected on the projection surface by the projection module, while both the first image and the second image are displayed on the display screen.

Abstract: An interactive presentation environment for eMeetings or the like that provides participants with more control over what they see and hear. One embodiment of the interactive presentation environment comprises a meeting recorder adapted to create a recording of a live meeting and a navigation control for selecting a portion of the recording to view during the live meeting. Some embodiment may further comprise a timeline control containing a first graphical indicator associated with a live position and a second graphical indicator associated with a current position, a bookmark control adapted to mark a portion of the recording for archiving, and a display operatively connected to the meeting recorder and the navigation control.

Abstract: Various embodiments illustrated and described herein include one or more of systems, methods, software, and data structures for package file presentation. Some embodiments generate visual representations of package files by extracting a list of display elements of a package file, each display element representative of a content file or a content folder including one or more content files included in the package file; extracting a presentation specification from the package file; and presenting a view of the package file as a function of the presentation specification and the list of display elements.

Abstract: According to a preferred embodiment, there is provided a computer program for use in the creation and editing of multimedia works which provides a much simplified method of selecting and placing multimedia clips, with a length of less than about 20 seconds, into a longer composition. In one preferred embodiment, the user is provided with a graphical user interface where he or she can add to or modify the multimedia content contained therein by simply clicking the mouse above an empty track location, with the replacement clips being chosen and inserted into the work automatically. In another embodiment, the user will specify the screening criteria for a plurality of tracks, which tracks will then be automatically populated with clips according to the user's rules to generate a multimedia work.

Abstract: A method for displaying at least one image from a set of images while a computerized device such as a Smartphone is charging. The method, which will often be a software implemented method such as a downloadable Smartphone “app” will generally comprise using the Smartphone's graphical user interface to select a set of images to display while said Smartphone is charging, and also using the Smartphone's graphical user interface to determine a set of parameters to use to control the display of these images while the Smartphone is charging. The invention's software will additionally determine the charging status of the Smartphone. In operation, while the Smartphone is charging, the software will then display these images, often according to the previously entered set of parameters used to control the display of these images.

In one potential implementation, a computing device with an application framework receives a communication manager object via a network connectivity device and executes the communication manager object within the application framework. The computing device may then receive and execute communications components and a presentation components within the application framework using the communication manager object. The communication manager object may then manages interface and display of the presentation information via the application framework, as modified by communication components.

Abstract: In a slideshow which reproduces a content associated with comment information, the reproduction timing of the content can be controlled according to the reproduction timing of the comment information. In a reproduction table, the following are associated with each other: reproduction order; image-document combinations indicated by an image (or the identification information of the image, such as a JPEG file name) and a document (or the identification information of the document, such as a TXT file name); the number of characters in the document; and reproduction time of the image and the document identified by the identification information of the image and the document, respectively. The greater the number of characters the document has, the longer the reproduction time the image associated with the document has. Not every image needs to be associated with the document. For example, basic reproduction time of 5 seconds is assigned to image No. 3.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing time for a slide presentation that permits a speaker to coordinate available time with the number of slides to be shown and a method of operating the same is described. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) a time allocation tool enabling a user to establish a presentation time with respect to at least one slide in the slide presentation and allocate any remaining presentation time to each remaining slide on a pro-rata basis and (2) a monitoring module associated with the time allocation tool to monitor the progress of the slide presentation and display a time status for the slide presentation as well as a slide number and a time status for a currently displayed slide.

The system provides an automated transition that corresponds to a relationship between a first media content item's metadata and metadata associated with a second media content item. The automated system also provides an automated information overlay that corresponds to a relationship between a first media content item's associated metadata and metadata associated with a second media content item. The automated system also can obtain information corresponding to metadata of the media content and provides automated information overlays while displaying the media content in a presentation.

Abstract: In enterprises, presentations are designed and made to visiting clients on a routine basis and it is expected that such presentations be effective as much of business depends on right kind of information in right depth and volume made to right audience. The typically followed manual process depends on the capabilities of a person to create such presentations. It is required to obtain as little information as possible to generate presentations as much automatically as possible. The automatic generation of presentations is based on (a) agenda; (b) audience profile; and (c) templates. The system analyzes an agenda and audience profile to obtain adequate information to identify the most appropriate templates and uses the same to generate one or more draft presentation versions that best match the requirements of the agenda. Further, the invention also provides for an automatic generation of (a) slide annotations; (b) presentation theme; and (c) templates.

Abstract: Techniques for enhanced content seek are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise a processor circuit and a content management module, and the content management module may be operative on the processor circuit to receive an instruction to initiate a seek presentation mode for a content item, determine content description information for the content item, and generate seek presentation information comprising the content description information. In this manner, an improved seek presentation may be realized that provides descriptive information regarding portions of content as a seek is being performed through those portions of content, such that a user may be better able to identify a point at which a desired location within the content has been reached. A second grouping of the collection of images into two or more groups is determined based at least in part on the user input. The second grouping is presented.

Abstract: Reaction information of participants to an interaction may be sensed and analyzed to determine one or more reactions or dispositions of the participants. Feedback may be provided based on the determined reactions. The participants may be given an opportunity to opt in to having their reaction information collected, and may be provided complete control over how their reaction information is shared or used.

Abstract: A data format provides a mechanism to dynamically change the appearance of an application. During operation, the application obtains streaming feed data for presentation to a user. The feed data may be formatted according to a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) data format. The application detects, within the feed data, branding extensions that identify branding content to be displayed concurrently with channel data and content items when a user selects a channel defined by the feed data. The application detects a user selection of the channel defined by the feed data, and in response, references the branding extensions to obtain and display the branding content within a display region of the application that is separate from the content presentation region of the application for display of content items defined within the feed data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for a region brander configured to uniformly apply branding (i.e graphical modifications) upon both content data and application data to effectuate a seamless branding of an entire region of a graphical user interface (GUI). The region brander defines a hierarchy relationship between content and a branding extension (i.e. embedded modification information) with respect to a region in a Graphical User Interface (GUI). The region brander further defines a master region in the GUI to apply the hierarchy relationship to display the content and the branding extension in the master region. A slave region in the GUI can also be defined to apply the hierarchy relationship in order to: (i) display, in the slave region, the branding extensions related to content selected in the master region, and (ii) display episodic content related to content selected in the master region.

Abstract: A method for updating the content of a live presentation can begin with an electronic presentation system establishing an electronic presentation session between a presenter and an audience. The presenter can control the presentation of digital content stored in a presentation source file within a user interface that facilitates the electronic presentation session. During the presentation, content changes for the digital content of the presentation source file can be received. The digital content of the presentation source file can be dynamically updated with the received content changes without interrupting the presentation of the digital content to the audience.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and computing system for generating a slideshow is provided. The method may include generating, using one or more computing devices, an event page corresponding to a particular event, the event page associated with a social network. The method may also include allowing access to the event page to one or more members of the social network. The method may further include receiving at least one photograph at the event page from the one or more members of the social network, displaying the at least one photograph at the event page and generating a slideshow based upon, at least in part, the at least one photograph received at the event page.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for assisting users with presenting data using cinematic techniques. Embodiments of the invention can be used to infer and generate cinematic techniques or combinations thereof based on a model and user action. Cinematic techniques can be used to meet the data exploration and analysis requirements of a user. As such, embodiments of the invention assist users (including non-programmers) to employ cinematic techniques (possibly in combination with other techniques) to gain insights into their data and also convey appropriate emotional messages.

Abstract: A user interface is provided for interacting with slides and objects provided on slides. In certain embodiments, the user interface includes features that are displayed attached to or proximate to selected slides or objects. In embodiments, aspects of the user interface may be used to preview, review, add, or modify transitions associated with animation from one slide to the next (or previous) and builds associated with animation of objects on slides.
