A secondary device may receive a request for movement of a web object, may request information for movement of the web object, may receive the information, and may render the web object based on the information. To process the movement of the web object, a web server may generate movability information of the web object movable in a web page. The web server may insert a link indicating the movability information in a header of the web page, and may transmit the web page including the link to a primary device.

In example embodiments, a user command to provide a UI object from a first application to a second application is received. Abstract: In general, techniques for passing data from a native component of an application to a web component of the application without reflowing the top-level document are described. In one example, a web component of an application loads a main document that includes at least two separate frames that each causes the web component to issue an application-layer request specifying a uniform resource identifier (URI). One of the frames causes the web component to issue an application-layer request that specifies a special native request URI. A native component of the application monitors application-layer requests issued by the web component of the application and snoops the URIs specified therein. When the native component identifies an application-layer request specifying a special native request URI, the native component stores a reference to the open application-layer request. Subsequently, the native component may pass a message to the web component by responding to the application-layer request.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, each participant in a collaborative session starts up a common software application, which includes a collaboration component. The collaboration component replicates operations performed on any one instance of said application to all other instances participating in the same session, so the effect is as if all members of the session were sharing a single instance of the application on a single computer. Data entered by the user may be utilized to generate a plurality of intelligent electronic device settings. According to various embodiments, the data entered by a user may be stored on the intelligent electronic device in an archive file. An image submission software module loaded on the server remotely receives instructions through an Internet browser at the client, and presents a single click interface feature operable to receive a single click input by the user at the client, via the Internet browser. Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a network access device is provided. Embedded within the access device are three distinct software layers. The first layer is a combined text-interface generator and Hypertext Transport Protocol client. The second layer is a combined Hypertext Transport Protocol server and Simple Network Management Protocol manager. The third layer is a Simple Network Management Protocol agent that has direct access to the configuration data of the access device. A user can manage the device through the embedded text-interface generator, by using an external HTTP client to communicate with the embedded HTTP server, or by using an external SNMP manager to communicate with the embedded SNMP agent. Techniques are disclosed for embedding SNMP information in messages passed between HTTP clients and servers.

Abstract: A method and user interfaces are described herein installing a field device as a replacement for a previously installed field device of a same type in a process control system. The disclosed method includes initially specifying a device type commissioning definition that includes a set of device-type specific parameters. A first set of instance-specific configuration parameter values are then stored for a first field device. When replacing the first field device by a second field device of the same type on a process control network, the commissioning definition and the previously stored parameters for the first device are used to automatically configure the second device.
