Abstract: A method for identifying target server computers for consolidating virtual machines in a virtualized data center includes measuring load constraints for different server computers in a virtualized data center. The method also include rendering in a load graph in a graphical user interface (GUI) for the target identification module different icons, each representative of a corresponding one of the different server computers, each icon in the load graph including a position in the load graph according to measured load constraints for a corresponding one of the different server computers. The method further includes selecting a server computer from amongst the different server computers.

Abstract: An approach is provided for generating a conditional event. Temporal parameters relating to multiple features are received from services that provide such information and user profile information specifying criteria for those parameters is retrieved. An event is caused to be generated if the temporal parameters satisfy those criteria.

Abstract: A business process master data vector for a business process of an organization can include master data coordinates corresponding to a plurality of business object node fields of a plurality of business objects involved in the business process. Values of the master data coordinates can indicate whether a corresponding business object node field is mandatory for successful execution of the business process. Master data instance vectors corresponding to the plurality of business objects can be evaluated such that a master data instance vector includes instance coordinates indicating whether a corresponding business object node field contains a master data value. The business process can be analyzed using the business process master data vector and/or the master data instance vectors. Related systems, processes, and articles of manufacture are also described.

Abstract: A method of providing a visualization of states of a process includes identifying a set of potential states that can occur during the process and a corresponding set of colors, with each color in the set of colors corresponding to one of the potential states. A fixed ordering is established for the set of colors. A timeline graph including a plurality of colored vertical bars is displayed. Each colored vertical bar corresponds to a time interval of the process and includes at least one color selected from the set of colors based on at least one state occurring during the time interval corresponding to the vertical bar. The plurality of colored vertical bars includes a set of multiple-color vertical bars that each include a plurality of colors appearing in a vertical order based on the fixed ordering.

A first layer of information is presented on the local device upon a start of the specific download. An amount of the particular content stored into the memory is determined. A different second layer of information is presented progressively on the local device during the specific download based on the amount of the particular content stored into the memory.

Abstract: Techniques for providing intuitive feedback to a user regarding which applications have access to a data stream captured by a privacy-sensitive device, such as a camera, a microphone, a location sensor, an accelerometer or the like. These techniques apprise the user of when an application is receiving potentially privacy-sensitive data and the identity of the application receiving the data. In some instances, this feedback comprises a graphical icon that visually represents the data stream being received and that dynamically alters with the received data stream. For instance, if an application receives a data stream from a camera of a computing device of the user, the described techniques may display an image of the video feed captured by the camera and being received by the application. This graphical icon intuitively alerts the user of the data stream that the application receives.

Abstract: A system and method for determining the environmental impact of a process is disclosed in which resources are categorized into distinct Environmental Performance Indicators (“EPI's”), some of which are value EPIs that are derived based on the amount of the resource used per Finished Product Volume (FPV), which is representative of the amount of product that is produced by the process; and others are percentage EPIs that represent a measure of efficiency, and are derived from the amount of renewable resources used as a percentage of total resources used. A graphical representation of the EPIs allows a quick visual interpretation of the environmental friendliness of a particular process or group of processes, and allows a visual comparison between two different processes.

Abstract: A system and a method transfer media content from a mobile device to a home network. A media application on the mobile device may be enabled to share media content with rendering devices in the home network. A user may enable and disable transfer of the media content from the media application to a target rendering device. Further, the media application may indicate visually the target rendering device and whether the media content is currently being transferred. Still further, the user may select a new target rendering device. Moreover, the media application may indicate network errors or other problems which may prevent the rendering of the media content and may enable the user to correct the network errors or the other problems.

Abstract: A system and method for monitoring computer applications comprising an application component table comprising a plurality of applications and application functions, wherein the applications comprise data identifying a functional status of the applications; a processor adapted to analyze the functional status of the applications based on the data; and a single status board user interface adapted to display the functional status of the applications, wherein the processor is adapted to predict when a running time of an application will be completed. The processor is adapted to determine whether the application functions fail when the applications are running; diagnose a cause of failure of the application functions; and indicate the cause of failure to a user. The processor is adapted to reconciliate information across processes supporting the applications. The system and method is adapted to send alerts to the single status board user interface of errors found in the processes.

Within the system, a task item is defined by at least a title, a description, a due date, and a tag. The tags provide a means for the task items to be organized within lists as well as within the system to, for example, allow task items to be shared, searched on, and the like.

Abstract: A method of improving workflow while performing a network adjustment associated with surveying data is disclosed. A first window containing a plan view which graphically displays at least one input is provided. The input is associated with surveying data. A second window contains a report which displays the input in text form is provided. In sync with each other, the plan view and the report are arranged within a GUI to present at least one network adjustment result utilizing the input. A status of at least one network adjustment result is indicated within the plan view and the report, wherein the status may include an error associated with the input. Additionally, interactive analysis capabilities and interactive modification capabilities are provided, wherein a change in the plan view is reflected in the report and a change in the report is reflected in the plan view.

During operation, the system can receive a status update for a task from a task manager through a GUI. Next, the system can determine whether the first status update for the task indicates that the task is delayed. If the status update indicates that the task is delayed, the system can request the task manager to indicate the help needed to resolve the task delay. Next, the system can receive a help needed descriptor from the task manager. Subsequently, the system can receive another status update for the task from the task manager, wherein the status update indicates that the help specified in the help needed descriptor is no longer required. Next, the system can determine an amount of delay associated with the help needed descriptor.

Abstract: The invention described herein provides a load engine and method for efficiently accomplishing mass conversions of customer data into an existing customer database, such as an IBM® Websphere® Customer Center (WCC). In particular, the method incorporates existing business rules for validating new customer data and for creating tables for the new customer data, creates load files for the new customer data, and provides a means for running multi-threaded data loads of the new customer data tables onto an existing customer database. The disclosure further provides a method for gathering data regarding the status of a data load or conversion and creating a user interface for tracking the progress of a specific data load.

The central authority routes data that has been converted to a second protocol for display by the user interface.

One embodiment provides a method for displaying HVAC information including obtaining data indicative of a plurality of HVAC components of an HVAC system. For example, this data may be maintained by a building management system. The method further includes defining data indicative of a display object for rendering on a client display, the display object including a plurality of geometrically arranged indicator blocks, wherein each indicator block is associated with a respective HVAC component. For the purposes of this display object, each indicator block is bound with respective source of comfort level data for its associated HVAC component. Display characteristics are defined for each indicator block responsive to the comfort level data. The display characteristics are selectively modified responsive to changes in the comfort level data. The resulting display object is referred to as a “comfort map” for the present purposes.

Abstract: A method for maintaining the status of a bootstrap peer includes: selecting a bootstrap peer; obtaining the status information of the bootstrap peer; updating a local bootstrap peer list according to the status information of the bootstrap peer. An apparatus and system for maintaining the status of a bootstrap peer are also disclosed. The bootstrap peer list is updated according to the status information of the selected bootstrap peer, which ensures the validity of the bootstrap peer list on the bootstrap server so that the information in the bootstrap peer list obtained by a joining peer is valid. This improves the success rate of joining the overlay network by the joining peer, shortens the joining process time of the joining peer, and implements load balancing between the bootstrap peers.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for building collaboration work environments within the virtual world through computer generated (and possibly controlled) avatars and other three dimensional (3D) objects. It provides a solution to a problem where computer generated avatars and objects visually represent the execution, progress and output of a collaboration project. It provides the system and method for quickly visualizing collaboration activities and outputs to allow people to quickly and easily track progress of said activities. Centralized pharmacy views are provided to manage individual and multiple patient infusions. Embodiments provide near real-time graphical displays of infusion data to pharmacies on separate user devices and allow for entry and communication of dispensing status of replacement fluids for patient infusions.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing dynamically linked graphical messages in a process control system are disclosed. A dynamically linked graphical message may include a hyperlink and an electronic sticky note image. At run-time of a display view, the hyperlink may be established between contents of the electronic sticky note image and a process control object, and the electronic sticky note image may be displayed proximate to a representation of the process control object. The electronic sticky note image may automatically be displayed on any display view (displayed on any computing device in communication with the process control system) that includes a representation of the process control object or corresponding sub-class object. The contents of the electronic sticky note image may be stored separately from configurations of the process control object and the display view. User interfaces for administering and displaying properties of dynamically linked graphical messages are also disclosed.

The monitoring workflow home screen is different than the non-monitoring workflow home screen.
