Abstract: The disclosure provides systems and methods of use of an HVAC graphical interface dashboard. In various embodiments, the dashboard includes a weather tab, wherein invoking the weather tab advances to a weather screen. The dashboard also includes an indoor humidity tab. A programs tab and a home tab are also provided. The dashboard further comprises: a) a screen that employs a backlight to display information to a user; b) a backlight, and c) a motion detector, wherein the backlight is turned on by the motion detector upon a detection of motion.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for processing a print job including a plurality of raster image processed pages. A tab page is created that includes a tab image located at a predetermined position in the tab page, the predetermined position associated with a tab position on tab stock. The tab page is raster image processed, and the rasterized tab page is inserted at a selected position in the print job. The tab image is detected on the rasterized tab page at the predetermined location, and then the rasterized tab image is positioned at the associated tab position.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the amount of time for a user to switch markets for a particular contract include market tab strips that allow a user to switch quickly between markets for a particular contract without having to reconfigure the user preferences. Typically, in the prior art, a user will have to reconfigure the market window layout if switching between markets. A market tab strip allows a user to switch between different markets for a particular contract without having to spend time reconfiguring the market window.

Abstract: An improved user interface is provided for displaying selectable software functionality controls that are relevant to a selected object and that remain visibly available for use while the selected object is being edited. Upon selection of a particular object for editing, functionality available for editing the object is presented in a ribbon-shaped user interface above the software application workspace to allow the user ready and efficient access to functionality needed for editing the selected object. The display of relevant functionality controls is persisted until the user dismisses the display, selects another top-level functionality control or selects another object for editing.

Abstract: A method for providing an improved user navigation interface for an industrial control system. The system includes a computer and a display device and a computer implemented workplace application. The system also includes a plurality of process control interfaces displayed on the display device. The process control interfaces include one or more software objects for controlling and/or monitoring objects controlled by the control system. The method includes displaying in the user interface a set of the process control interfaces generated by one instance of the workplace application in a designated view that includes a corresponding set of graphic user interface objects. Each graphic user interface object identifies and, on selection, displays the corresponding the process control interface.

Abstract: A computing device is provided that includes a display comprising a plurality of discrete elements. A memory is used to store a data collection of paginated content. A processor of the computing device is configured to retrieve each of the pages from the memory. The processor signals the display to individually present each of the pages. A sensor device is coupled to the processor. The sensor device is deflectable to signal the processor a deflection value that causes the processor to sequentially present at least portions of multiple pages on the display.

Abstract: A method is disclosed by which a user can set aside a tabbed internet browser window having a desired view. By user command the method creates a second tabbed internet browser window displaying the desired view. Abstract: A mobile terminal capable of managing schedule and a method of controlling the mobile terminal are provided. In order to register a new scheduled event to the mobile terminal, a schedule place corresponding to the new scheduled event may be displayed on a schedule map. Thereafter, a route between the schedule place and other routes may be established in consideration of a current location of the mobile terminal and traffic information. The clarity, color and/or shape of objects displayed on the schedule map may be changed in consideration of the current location of the mobile terminal or the traffic information. Therefore, a user may easily obtain various schedule information, current location information and traffic condition information from the schedule map.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing a pan and zoom control in conjunction with a timeline for navigating project schedule data in a project management application. The project management application displays a pan and zoom control in conjunction with a project schedule timeline, with the pan and zoom control at a position and of a size relative to the timeline that reflects the temporal scope of project schedule data currently displayed. The pan and zoom control is configured to allow a user to move and resize the control along the timeline. Upon detecting movement or resizing of the pan and zoom control, the project management application will change the scope of the project schedule data displayed to match the time period represented by the new position and/or new size of the pan and zoom control in relation to the timeline.

Abstract: The techniques and mechanisms described herein are directed to a method for managing and selecting one out of large set of open tabs in a tabbed browser. Browsing software is configured to provide a quick pick user-interface that visually displays the content of the several tabs, such as a by displaying a thumbnail for each tab. The thumbnails allow a user to easily distinguish between each opened tab. The browsing software may also be configured to recognize a user selection from within the quick pick user-interface and in response, switch back to a tabbed window view and display the selected tab in that view. The browsing software may adjust the tab row so that the selected tab is positioned in a favorable position within the tab row. In addition, within the quick pick user-interface, the user may reposition the thumbnails and/or close the thumbnails, thus affecting the associated tab in the tab row.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for displaying a plurality of web pages within a single web browsing display area includes determining a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for each of the plurality of web pages to be displayed. Each of the URLs may be determined from user inputs or predefined settings. The method may also include allocating a display region within the web browsing display area to define an allocated display region and displaying the one of the plurality of web pages within the allocated display region.

Abstract: A graphical user interface for a portable electronic device includes an application display region that displays a current application context of an application and a navigation bar adjacent to the application display region. The navigation bar includes two horizontally adjacent regions, comprising a current context region for displaying an indicator of the current application context and a prior context region for displaying an indicator of an application context preceding the current application context. The application display region simulates shifting of the application display in a first direction upon detecting user selection of the prior context region, and simulates shifting of the application display in a second direction, opposite the first direction, upon detecting user selection of an application context different from the current application context and the prior application context.

Abstract: Techniques to facilitate finding a tab or tabs in a user interface window are described. Various embodiments present tabs, individual tabs being associated with an opened document such as a web page or an activity, in a user interface window and automatically group at least some of the tabs together in a visually distinctive way. In at least some embodiments, this grouping is performed in response to a user interacting with the tabs in a particular way. For instance, a user may cause a tab to be created or moved within the user interface window such that the tab is grouped with a tab group or ungrouped from a tab group. Furthermore, one or more embodiments provide for certain tab-related actions, such as selecting an active tab and changing a display of a title of a tab, which can be performed in a manner based at least in part on this grouping.

Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a Web browser is configured to enable a user to open a new tab and, responsively, display one or more activities in a new tab page for the user. The user can then select, from the new tab page, one or more activities to be performed. In at least some embodiments, a user can select an object in a first tab page, open a new tab page, and select an activity on the new tab page that is to be performed relative to the selected object.

Abstract: A method for extending known single-select mutually-exclusive tabs to simultaneously include multiple selection tabs with easy surfaced user controls. These controls enable the user to quickly and easily select and unselect one or more tabs in the tab group.

Abstract: Software for dynamically previewing changes to hardware driver settings for a graphics adapter is disclosed. Changes to the driver settings are dynamically previewed by forcing an executable graphics program module to load hardware parameter settings as changed, and drawing a region reflecting the changes using the executable graphics program library. The graphics program module may be forced to load new settings as a result of being newly instantiated. Conveniently, a preview region reflecting changes may be drawn in place of an already existing preview region.

Abstract: Electronic advertisements and other types of electronic information are distributed based on user profiles and in particular, collections of widgets. User profiles may be generated based on a combination of user searches for specific items or points of interest. Alternatively user interests may be determined by the customized tabs setup by said user for his own personal web portal. User entered information and information inferred or derived from user behavior and interaction patterns may be used to determine the type of directed advertisement to be targeted to a specific user. The use and collection of various widgets may also be recorded by a user profile to determine a user's preferences and interests. An advertisement may be distributed by segmenting a user population according to user profile information and one or more attributes of the advertisement.

Abstract: A system allowing a user of a browser program on a computer connected to an open distributed hypermedia system to access and execute an embedded program object. The program object is embedded into a hypermedia document much like data objects. The user may select the program object from the screen. Once selected the program object executes on the user's (client) computer or may execute on a remote server or additional remote computers in a distributed processing arrangement. After launching the program object, the user is able to interact with the object as the invention provides for ongoing interprocess communication between the application object (program) and the browser program. One application of the embedded program object allows a user to view large and complex multi-dimensional objects from within the browser's window. The user can manipulate a control panel to change the viewpoint used to view the image.

Feedback, such as by underlining a label when the user hovers the mouse over it, is provided to allow the user to identify that an action will occur if one of the non-tabbed labels is clicked.

Abstract: One can display a patient's medical history on a (color-coded), bar-configured chronological timeline. The patient timeline display includes event markers that are located adjacent to specific time increments along the patient timeline when the patient had certain procedures performed. Namely, each procedure is represented by an event marker referenced to its time of performance along the timeline. From the basic bar-configured timeline which contains a pop-up bubble, the physician can see at a glance every major hospital encounter a particular patient has had over the duration of the timeline, e.g., the last 12-months.

Abstract: To increase command-access efficiency and to optimize a user's available user interface work space, an improved user interface is provided for displaying logical groupings of selectable software functionality controls that are associated with one or more selected top-level functionalities. Upon selection of a top-level functionality tab, selectable functionalities associated with the top-level functionality tab are divided into logical groupings and are presented in a customizable functionality control section below the tab. Upon selection of a different top-level functionality tab, selectable functionalities associated with the subsequently selected top-level functionality tab may either replace the first functionality control section or may be displayed in a separate functionality control section adjacent to the first functionality control section if real estate is available in the user interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for interfacing with a user of a computer system. In one implementation, a method is provided that comprises providing a tabstrip controller to display different components of an application in a display, wherein in the display the components are displayed at once as a plurality of tabs in a tabstrip. Further, the method may include controlling the tabstrip to allow at least one tab to be removed from the tabstrip and, optionally, to be displayed in a separate display entity, e.g., a free-floating or docked window. Embodiments of the invention further relate to a user interface for interfacing a user with a computer system and to a computer system arranged to generate a user interface. Embodiments consistent with the invention also relate to a computer program product and an article of manufacture.

Abstract: A user interface control is provided for navigating, selecting, and organizing document pages. The user interface control includes page tabs corresponding to document pages within an electronic document. The page tabs are organized and displayed adjacent to one another in a horizontal or vertical column. When any page tab is selected, such as with a mouse or keyboard, the document page corresponding to the selected page tab is displayed. A first page tab may be selected and a second page tab may be subsequently selected, such as for instance using a mouse or other pointing device. The selection may include dragging a mouse cursor from the first page tab across several page tabs and subsequently to the second page tab. When such a selection is received, the control displays the contents of each of the document pages corresponding to page tabs between the first and second page tabs.

Abstract: Methods for supporting user data input are presented including receiving a page for display on a display unit, wherein the page includes a number of input fields; receiving a number of input support functions, where each of the number of input support functions is associated with each of the number of input fields; generating an alternative field for receiving the user data input; detecting an input field in accordance with a user selection; setting one of the input support functions associated with the input field to the alternative field; entering user data input into the alternative field; and copying the user data input entered into the alternative field to the input fields. In some embodiments, methods further include generating a tab index, where the tab index is configured to move the alternative field to a next input field in response to a tab key stroke.

GUI objects or icons representing orders of a specific quantity may be dragged and dropped onto the grid to place, change, or cancel orders. Abstract: A method of displaying tab titles in a computer user interface receives a request to display a new tab in a tab area having a length. The new tab has a width and the new tab has a title having a length. The method determines a number of tabs to be displayed in the area and determines if the number of tabs to be displayed multiplied by the tab width is greater than the length of the tab area. If so, the method sets the tab width equal to the length of the tab area divided by the number of tabs. The method determines if the length of the title is greater than the tab width. If so, the method determines if the title has any words in common with any other titles of tabs. If so, the method deletes the common words from the titles, and displays the titles with the deleted common words in the tabs. The method may set a maximum number of tabs to be displayed in the tab area. The maximum number of tabs may be determined by the length of the tab area and a minimum tab width.
