Abstract: In an example embodiment, an online advertising management platform maintains an account that includes data relating to an order for advertising provided by an ad network affiliated with the platform. When the platform receives a login that identifies a user as having access rights to the account, the platform displays a view that includes a window displaying data relating to the order and a toolbar in a standardized location relative to the window. The toolbar includes a tab that displays a count of each informational message (e.g., alert or tip) which relates to the displayed data and which has not been dismissed by the current user. When the user clicks on the tab, the platform displays a tabbed window that includes a list of the informational messages, regardless of whether an informational message on the list has been read or dismissed by another user allowed access to the account.

Abstract: A multi-document application that includes a multi-document interface that includes a view area that displays one document at a time and includes a tab group element that displays tabs, each tab having a control that permits a corresponding document to be visualized in the view area. When a new document is opened in the multi-document application, the multi-document interface adds a new tab to the tab group element to represent the newly opened document. The multi-document application has a configuration interface that allows a user to designate customization settings for the multi-document interface. The configuration interface also provides a configuration preset interface that allows a user to select a preset option that automatically sets customization settings offered by the configuration interface rather than require the user set each customization setting individually.

When the vertical scroll bar is used, the contents of the editing surface are scrolled but the ribbon area is not scrolled.

Abstract: A method of controlling a portable electronic device includes rendering a first virtual keyboard corresponding to a first language on a touch-sensitive display of the portable electronic device, rendering a second selectable feature corresponding to a second language when the first virtual keyboard is rendered on the touch-sensitive display, detecting selection of the second selectable feature corresponding to the second language, and rendering a second virtual keyboard corresponding to the second language in response to detecting the selection.

Abstract: A method in a user interface, according to one embodiment, allows for the docking of window panels within a software application. A palette in the user interface can, in this embodiment, have three states: (i) the palette is open within a window panel; (ii) the palette is docked as a tab; and (iii) the palette is open in a area connected to the tab. User actions through the user interface can control transitions among these three states. Other methods are described, and systems and computer readable storage media are also described.

Within each area, different portlets can be made visible using tabs to switch between the portlets. A new portlet can also be created within an area, as long as that type of portlet is allowed in that particular area. The invention allows a user to easily manage the view of many pieces of information without the clutter usually associated with many windows.

Abstract: A method of displaying tab titles in a computer user interface receives a request to display a new tab in a tab area having a length. The new tab has a width and the new tab has a title having a length. The method determines a number of tabs to be displayed in the area and determines if the number of tabs to be displayed multiplied by the tab width is greater than the length of the tab area. If so, the method sets the tab width equal to the length of the tab area divided by the number of tabs. The method determines if the length of the title is greater than the tab width. If so, the method determines if the title has any words in common with any other titles of tabs. If so, the method deletes the common words from the titles, and displays the titles with the deleted common words in the tabs. The method may set a maximum number of tabs to be displayed in the tab area. The maximum number of tabs may be determined by the length of the tab area and a minimum tab width.

The content windows may host a web browser, a shell view, a word processing application, and the like. A set of content windows are grouped into a frame in a manner such that a taskbar shows one item for the set of content windows. Each content window is associated with a tab for the frame. A content-specific menu may be associated with each tab. The content-specific menu includes a set of commands based on the heterogeneous content hosted in the content window. The entry of that input character into the first field causes a number of characters in the first field to reach a predetermined threshold. Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing remote control of separate media sources over a network using, for example, pop-up windows graphically depicting remote control devices within corresponding tabbed windows of a web browser. A browser plug-in or add-on application provides a graphical depiction of a remote control device associated with each media source and receives a command from the viewer via interaction with the graphical depiction of the remote control device. The command is transmitted across the network to the placeshifting device to modify a media stream provided by the desired media source.
