The system and method also operates to process the plurality of text-based characters as the password. In addition, the system and method operates wherein the password, including text-based characters, may be deciphered from both the display of the non-descriptive graphical features associated with the plurality of text-based characters and the sequence scheme.

Abstract: An enterprise management software system that provides a methodology for transient data storage, user action handling and dependent object creation process. When a dependent object is required to be added, the software system may remember the action without creating the dependent object. When a command is received to cancel the dependent object creation, the software system may work only on the transient data at a frontend and will not interact with backend. The dependent object may be instantiated when receiving a user command to save any entered data. Responsive to the user command, the software system may collect user input and trigger dependent object instantiation process at the backend.

Abstract: An electronic device displays text of an electronic document on a display; displays an insertion marker at a first position in the text of the electronic document; detects a first horizontal gesture on a touch-sensitive surface; in response to a determination that the first horizontal gesture satisfies a first set of one or more predefined conditions: translates the electronic document on the display in accordance with a direction of the first horizontal gesture, and maintains the insertion marker at the first position in the text; and, in response to a determination that the first horizontal gesture satisfies a second set of one or more predefined conditions, moves the insertion marker by one character in the text from the first position to a second position in the text in accordance with the direction of the first horizontal gesture.

Abstract: A project management system and method includes a user interface with “pie slices” and “layers” to provide a matrix view that integrates multiple best practices content. The slices of the pie represent project stages and the matrix view represents layers of best practice content, such as project management, quality assurance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and other processes. Each cell of the matrix represents best practice information in process, people, and deliverables views. The user loads a project and uses the best practice steps to help with their project implementation. The user interface allows the users to select a best practice layer, then select a project stage cell, and then drill down to view process step details, view people roles information, or work with files that define the project deliverables.

Abstract: A method and system to generate a user interface for an application, the user interface including a plurality of screen items, and each screen item being rendered based on associated screen item data. An output preview is generated and includes at least one preview item representative of a corresponding one of the plurality of screen items. Each preview item in the output preview is linked to the screen item data associated with the corresponding screen item, and is rendered in the output preview based on the linked screen item data.

Abstract: An interactive vehicle information map system is disclosed in which, in various embodiments, geographical, geospatial, vehicle, and other types of data, geodata, objects, features, and/or metadata are efficiently presented to a user on an interactive map interface. In an embodiment, the user may search vehicle-related data via the interactive map by providing search criteria including, for example, information regarding a geographic area, a time period, a vehicle, a vehicle owner, and/or a license plate number, among other items. The map system may provide search results including a list of vehicles that match the search criteria, vehicle information, and/or points on the interactive map that indicate license-plate recognition read locations, among other information. In an embodiment, the user may view detailed information associated with particular vehicles including, for example, captured images, vehicle-owner data, event history, and the like. Further, the user may export data and/or create search alerts.

A rotational user action supplied by a user via a user input device can provide accelerated scrolling. The accelerated nature of the scrolling enables users to scroll or traverse a lengthy data set (e.g., list of items) faster and with greater ease. The amount of acceleration provided can be performed in successive stages, and/or performed based on the speed of the rotational user action. In one embodiment, the rotational user action is transformed into linear action with respect to a graphical user interface. The resulting acceleration effect causes the linear action to be enhanced such that a lengthy data set is able to be rapidly traversed.

Abstract: Methods, program products, and systems for displaying context-aware charts are described. In context-aware charts, content of a chart can reflect a context of the chart. A charting object can be defined using a data series. The system can dynamically determine what subset of a data source should be used for the data series, depending on where the chart object is placed in a layout, form or other display area. Therefore, a single chart definition can be used to display various charts based on the context of the chart. When a chart object is moved from one data area to a new data area, the system can change the source of the data series such that the data series of the chart corresponds to a different subset of the data source.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an electronic device including a storage device, an input device, a display device and a processing unit. The storage device stores an input rule table. The input device receives at least one input signal corresponding to text editing. The display device is arranged to display a text input interface, wherein the text input interface comprises a first display region and a second display region provided for users to do the text editing by the input device, wherein the display device has a display region, the display region has a predetermined display area, and the text input interface has an interface area. The processing dynamically adjusts the interface area of the text input interface to change the ratio of the interface area and the predetermined display area of the display region according to the input signal and the input rule table.

Abstract: To avoid the need for off-line collaboration, a primary user who is attempting to enter data required for computer-based process may, as part of the data entry process, delegate data entry tasks for specific input fields to designated delegate users who are more likely to be knowledgeable about the data to be entered. Data entry operations performed by the primary user are recorded and used to build a transaction model which will enable a server to provide required data input screens to delegate users. Data entered by the delegate users is merged with data entered by the primary user to meet the requirements of the computer-based process.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed which may provide modules that may be displayed in the context of a website that allow for autoscrolling between the modules upon entering required information in the modules or completing actions required by the modules. The modules may be modules for paying for items via PayPal and may include modules for entering payment information, billing information, a shipping address, creating an account, and accepting terms and conditions. The modules may be displayed within the context of the webpage when selecting a pay with PayPal link without navigating away from the webpage. As a user enters information into a module, the module will automatically scroll to the next module if the module permits automatic scrolling.

Abstract: In a method for dialing phone numbers using a portable communication device, the device includes a keypad including numeric keys and an LED driver. Each of the numeric keys is equipped with a first color LED light and a second color LED light. The LED driver drives the first LED light under each of the numeric keys to emit a first color light. The LED driver turns off the first LED light under the numeric key and turns on the second LED light under the numeric key to emit a second color light according to an LED control signal. The LED driver further turns off the second LED light and turns on the first LED light to emit the first color light when the digit input from the keypad is in a digital group.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method which, in one embodiment, enables a user to navigate the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). The method initially involves uploading a delimited HTS file, and using it to create a wizard which optionally allows the user to navigate a series of options menus, or alternatively, the entire menu hierarchy can be displayed on the same screen. The selections made at every menu is saved for future reference. The method also optionally enables the documentation of Export Control Classification Numbers, which are recorded along with applicable control information for the product.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a system in which individual employee records can be updated across multiple services by an administrator at the interface to a particular service. Multiple services may be provided with this capability. This will eliminate the need in the current art for a central directory that contains a service description that will be common across all services. The technology eliminates the need for the development of this directory and the training of administrators in its interface. Administrators may utilize their training in one service interface to update records across multiple services. This will enable the more rapid development of solutions utilizing services from multiple vendors. Administrators need not be trained on interfaces for all services but can apply routine global updates from a convenient and familiar interface.

Abstract: A method of operating a graphical user interface employs an input control enabling a user to provide an input value for a field. The method includes, during a first period of use of the graphical user interface by the user, automatically presenting a predetermined first input value as a default input value for the field. This may be a system default value for example. During the first period, the values provided by the user are monitored to identify a distinct second input value receiving at least a threshold use by the user. Then during a subsequent second period, based on the threshold use of the second input value during the first period, the second input value is automatically presented as the default input value for the field.

In some embodiments, a bitmap representation of text and one or more data structures, that may include a set of coordinates of the bitmap representation of text and text code data corresponding to the set of coordinates and the bitmap image may be received. Text operations may be performed on the bitmap representation of text.

Abstract: Techniques that facilitate review of bitmapped representations of text in a file are described. In some embodiments, one or more signals representative of cursor movements over a bitmapped representation of text in a bitmap image may be received. One or more selected text elements may be determined based on the cursor movements. Determining may include searching a data structure, separate from the bitmap image, which includes information regarding text element locations corresponding to the bitmapped text representation in the bitmap image. A portion of the bitmapped representation of text corresponding to the determined selected text elements may be highlighted.

Abstract: A system and method for entering USSD codes through an ambiguous text entry interface. The disclosed system may be embedded in mobile devices or other devices having reduced (e.g., 12 key) keypads for text entry. The system receives text entry from users, disambiguates the text entry, and presents the user with descriptors (i.e., representative words, icons, or other visual indicators) that are associated with the entered text and correlated with USSD codes. In response to a user selecting a descriptor, the system retrieves the corresponding USSD code and causes the device to transmit a message to the USSD service. The USSD service receives the message and invokes appropriate processes to respond to the message. In some embodiments, the system presents the list of descriptors representing USSD codes to the user in an order that is related to the probability that the user will select the descriptor.

In the handwriting mode, when the touchpad detects a second touch gesture, the processor displays a handwriting track corresponding to the second touch gesture in the handwriting frame on the display.

A connections data set is developed from data sources that show meaningful relationships among parties. In the case of parties involved in the M&A field the data set is derived from M&A deals, from which companies, individuals and deals are collected. Abstract: Methods of adding data identifiers and speech/voice recognition functionality are disclosed. A telnet client runs one or more scripts that add data identifiers to data fields in a telnet session. The input data is inserted in the corresponding fields based on data identifiers. Scripts run only on the telnet client without modifications to the server applications. Further disclosed are methods for providing speech recognition and voice functionality to telnet clients. Portions of input data are converted to voice and played to the user. A user also may provide input to certain fields of the telnet session by using his voice. Scripts running on the telnet client convert the user's voice into text and is inserted to corresponding fields.
