Abstract: An interactive electronic display of a plurality of inventory items across a distributed network has a database having information for each of a plurality of display items. A processor is configured to organize at least one electronic catalog of display items, said catalog being distributable across the distributed network such that at least one user computer with access to the network may access the catalog. Instructions may be received from the user and the catalog changed according to those instructions. Further changes in the catalog may be entered from the publisher in response to an editorial change entered by a user, according to preconfigured directions. The display of the catalog may be controlled by a user with a graphical user interface such that the user may toggle between different catalogs or different displays of a catalog, which may be a different layout or a different color.

Abstract: Tokenless biometric authorization of transaction between a consumer and a merchant uses an identicator and an access device. A consumer registers with the identicator a biometric sample taken from the consumer. The consumer and merchant establish communications via the access device. The merchant proposes a transaction to the consumer via the access device. The access device communicates to the merchant associated with the access device. After the consumer and merchant have agreed on the transaction, the consumer and the identicator use the access device to establish communications. The access device communicates to the identicator the code associated with the access device. The identicator compares biometric sample from the consumer with registered biometric sample. Upon successful identification, the identicator forwards information regarding the consumer to the merchant.

Abstract: A method of providing one or more thumbnail images and an image photographing apparatus thereof include displaying a plurality of thumbnail images corresponding respectively to a plurality of image data, if at least one of the plurality of thumbnail images is selected, changing a displaying status of the selected thumbnail image to be distinguishable from that of remaining thumbnail images and, if a user's motion is recognized, replacing the remaining thumbnail images with other thumbnail images while keeping the selected thumbnail image therein.

Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable medium are provided for enabling the organization, presentation and selection of icons related to information technology processes on the basis of frequency of launching of applications or use of services related the selected icons. In a first version, certain icons related to individual information technology processes are associated with an enclosing icon displayed by a computer at least partly on the basis of a history of frequency of use of applications software or related services. The user may direct the computer to display or cease displaying the icons by selecting the enclosing icon. In a second version the enclosing icon may be additionally or alternately associated with and/or disassociated from the enclosing icon at least partly on the basis of user instruction. In a third version, the selected icons may be personalized by associating textual, graphical and/or photographic data as provided by the user.

Abstract: Predicted input data is obtained by initially acquiring a set of operations that are performed on non-editable user interface elements of a user interface prior to a subsequent data input into an editable user interface of the user interface. The set of operations is then classified into a pattern class based on the operations in the set and the subsequent data input that corresponds to the set. Subsequently, a pattern type for the pattern class is generated that describes a relationship between the set of operations and the subsequent data input. Accordingly, when a new set of operations is received, input data is predicted for the new set by applying the pattern type to the new set.

Abstract: Object editing controls may be provided. First, a selection of an object within an electronic document may be received. Then, in response to the received selection of the object, at least one selectable control may be displayed. The at least one selectable control may be configured to provide a set of most commonly used editing controls for editing the selected object. Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a user interface that enables a user to more readily identify and use one or more storage services (e.g., cloud storage services or local storage services) to save, open and/or retrieve documents and other data. Embodiments include receiving user credentials from a user that identify the user and also identify one or more storage services that are available to the user. In response to a request to save a document, a list of available services is provided to the user. In an embodiment, the list of services is provided to the user via a user interface. The user may select a storage service from the list and save the document using the selected service.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically, programmatically generating media item recommendations on a graphical user interface (GUI) based on a friend media item recommendation selected by a user. In the preferred embodiment, a selected media item recommendation is displayed in the GUI. Received friend media item recommendations are displayed in a list in relevance order adjacent to the selected media item. A programmatically-generated media item recommendation list is automatically generated based on relevance to the selected media item and displayed in another adjacent area to the selected media item recommendation. In this manner, a user can easily play the selected media item recommendation, and then browse the friend media item recommendations and the automatically updated programmatically-generated media item recommendations, which are both provided in their own respective adjacent areas, in order of closest relationship to the selected media item recommendation, at anytime.

The electronic device includes a storage unit storing a table recording icons provided by the electronic device and the number of click frequency of each of the icons. Then, arranging some of the icons according to the number of click frequency recorded in the table if a currently run application is closed.

Abstract: Selectable objects in a computer display are arranged in a cascading menu including parent menu and submenu objects in which an activation area is provided in association with each submenu displayed which spans between the submenu and the associated parent menu object. The activation area provides the function of maintaining display of a submenu associated with a selected parent menu object while the cursor remains in contact with the activation area. An override function is provided to minimize trapping of the cursor within the activation area. The shape of the activation area is generally triangular with opposing side edges extending from an apex and the parent object being curved inwardly towards one another to also minimize trapping. The characteristics of the activation area can also be varied according to user motion patterns.

By enabling viewing of menus and execution of commands through context based menus positioned in relation to displayed content user experience is enhanced when interacting with user interfaces with limited display area.

Abstract: Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for a peer device on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network are disclosed. A client application executing on the peer device provides and enables the GUIs. One of the GUIs may display a media item playlist. The user manages the media items displayed on the media item playlist by utilizing sorting criteria. The media item playlist displays a list of the users subscribing to the P2P network, the title of and information concerning media items recommended by the users and media items stored locally on the peer device, and a score for each media item on the media item playlist. The score may be determined by applying to the media items preferences defined by information provided by the user of the peer device, a profile developed from the defined preferences, and other information provided by the user. The user of the peer device provides the information to the peer device using other GUIs provided and enabled by the client application.
