Abstract: There is disclosed a method of an electronic device for providing a visual representation of a contact widget, in which the electronic device includes a display and an input component associated with the display. A display provides a contact widget including positions for task representations. An input component then detects selection of a particular position of the contact widget. Next, the input component detects selection of a particular task of a contact list associated with the contact widget. Thereafter, the display provides a representation of the particular task at the particular position.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for a graphical user interface for managing a plurality of internet protocol ranges. A plurality of internet protocol ranges are displayed in a control area. A user selects either a one-dimensional or a two-dimensional graphical representation of a portion of the plurality of internet protocol ranges. A visual representation of the internet address space of the plurality of internet protocol ranges is generated in a view manipulation component. A graphic display component displays the selected graphical representation of the portion of the plurality of internet protocol range.

Abstract: A modulating operation interface and a method are applied for a display apparatus. The modulating operation interface comprises a display unit, a selection unit, a clock unit and a processor. A circle broadcast action of a plurality of operation diagrams is displayed by the display unit. One operation diagram from the plurality of operation diagrams broadcasted by the display unit is then selected by the selection unit. An internal menu of lower level is expanded from the selected operation diagram. The circle broadcast action executed by the display unit is controlled by the processor based on a predetermined time and a time data provided by the clock unit. Accordingly, the modulation can be finished completely and speedily while modulating the modulating operation interface.

A first control is provided that operates within the graphical user interface. The first control is manipulated in order to access a second control. The second control includes the data list and allows modification of the data list after the second control is accessed.

Abstract: A frequency modulation (FM) transmitter, a broadcast receiver having the same, and a method of transmitting an audio are provided. The FM transmitter selects a specific frequency from among frequencies in FM frequency band, which exclude a frequency in use, and transmits an audio signal over the selected specific frequency. Accordingly, the FM transmitter can transmit the audio signal using the confusion-free or interference-free frequency. As a result, a user can select a frequency to transmit the audio of the broadcast receiver easily.

Abstract: A visual browsing method allows a user to look at an item closely by hovering over, instead of clicking on, an icon representing the item. The method also enables the user to browse items in different levels of a multiple level category without waiting for web pages to be loaded, to know where he/she has been in the multiple level category, and to back up if he/she likes. The method makes the browsing process faster and easier.

Abstract: A system and method for displaying a graphical context short menu on a display screen of a mobile communication device. The method includes displaying information associated with a contact, receiving a request for a menu and displaying, in response to the request, a graphical context short menu including menu items based on context associated with the displayed information. The graphical context short menu can include an icon associated with the contact. The icon can be an image of the contact, an avatar, and name of the contact. The graphical context short menu can include nine (9) menu options with the icon in the center of the menu. The graphical context short menu can also include a more menu items in the bottom right of the menu.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for a user interface. The system can include a plurality of information categories and option nodes organized into a hierarchy. A plurality of menu columns can be contained within a window. The menu columns can each be configured to display a portion of the plurality of categories and option nodes. A first scrolling control can be located adjacent to the plurality of menu columns and be configured to scroll the plurality of menu columns in a defined direction across the screen. A second scrolling control can be located adjacent on an opposite site of the plurality of menu columns. The second scrolling control can be linked to the first scrolling control to enable either scrolling control to be moved in the defined direction in order to scroll the menu columns and unused scrolling control simultaneously.

Abstract: A method, computer system, and graphical user interface for generating firmware code for a programmable integrated circuit are disclosed. Embodiments are directed to a configurable menu hierarchy which is displayed as part of a graphical user interface, and therefore may be configured on-screen by a user interacting with elements or regions of the graphical user interface. Once the hierarchy of the menu is configured, a data structure for implementing menu functionality associated with the displayed menu hierarchy may be automatically generated. Firmware may be generated based upon the data structure and stored within a programmable integrated circuit. The firmware may enable the programmable integrated circuit to implement the menu functionality external to the programmable integrated circuit using at least one component of the programmable integrated circuit. The menu functionality may operate in conjunction with at least one user interface device of the electronic device.

Abstract: A gallery software application enables a user to browse, view, and interact with various content items, such as still images and videos. The gallery includes a graphical user interface with two modes: stack and grid. In stack mode, images (which represent content items) are divided into groups, and a group is represented by a displayed stack of images. In grid mode, images are displayed in a grid of rows and columns. The displayed stacks and images can be scrolled. When the scrolling reaches the end of a set of stacks or images, the last stack or image is displayed with perspective distortion. In grid mode, a value is displayed for meta-data of a content item that is not currently displayed. If a user indicates the displayed value, the grid is scrolled until the content item whose meta-data matches that value is displayed.

Abstract: A method of displaying points of interest in a personal navigation device includes displaying a map on a display of the personal navigation device, receiving touch input at a touched position of the display, searching an area within a search radius of the touched position for points of interest, displaying points of interest located in the area within the search radius, wherein the found points of interest are represented by icons connected to their locations on the map with a line extending out from the touched position, spreading out the icons around the touched position to separate the icons from each other, and gradually increasing the search radius to create an enlarged area within the increased search radius and displaying additional icons corresponding to points of interest located in the enlarged area.

Abstract: A system and method for scrolling through a list uses control and display algorithms for scrolling through a long list of text strings. The control algorithm interfaces to the user via a rate-based scheme to switch the display through various levels of abstraction where higher levels of abstraction are displayed “in-situ” on the single-line display. These higher levels of abstraction display as starting characters or words that are common to a group of entries in the alphabetized list. Multiple levels of abstraction are supported, where lower levels of abstraction are displayed as longer strings of characters, representing smaller groups of entries in the given list of text strings. Higher levels of abstraction are displayed as shorter character strings. The rate of user movement is detected for the display to change to a previous or next item in the list if below a predetermined threshold while increasing the abstraction level if the user rapidly selects different options.

Abstract: A control element for use in a graphical user interface, which combines the display features of the list box element and the pop-up menu element into a single GUI control element. The combined menu list control element is capable of displaying data in multiple states thereby allowing to it to optimally use the available display space for presenting data to the user. By allowing menu list control element to display data as either a list or a menu, it combines the advantages of lists and menus while avoiding their disadvantages.

A first list of fields that are pertinent to the layout (e.g., including the plurality of fields) is presented when the user selection is in a first state. For instance, the first list of fields may include only the fields that are in the layout (e.g., visible to the user). When the user selection is in a second state, a user is presented or provided access to a second list of fields, where the second list of fields includes fields that are not in the layout. A thumbnail is created for each of the image data, wherein the respective thumbnails have the same image height. Each element may be associated with at least one of multiple attributes. For each of the elements, a degree of relevancy can be computed with respect to each of the attributes. A graphic representing each attribute can be displayed on a display screen, and the elements can be displayed on the display screen such that they are spatially positioned relative to the graphics based on the computed relevancies. In some embodiments, a region can be defined for each of the attributes, and the elements associated with a particular attribute may be displayed within the associated region.

Abstract: A graphical user interface is provided which allows the user to perform numerous operations suitable for analysis of in-vivo images within a single display screen or a single window. Using the in-vivo GUI, the user may create and manipulate analysis tools such as rectangle and ellipse tools to define regions of interest and perform various measurements on an in-vivo image. In addition, the GUI allows the user to store measurement results in a dated electronic notebook, display testing information, manipulate image presentation and print while maintaining view of the image.

In another embodiment, a gap indicating a beginning and an end of the list is displayed and a scrolling occurs when the gap is within the CLR and a horizontal navigation within the CLR is performed.

The sequence of items includes one or more undisplayed items that do not belong to the set of items. The set of items are displayed, in an arrangement that includes a plurality of lines, in an order that corresponds to the sequence. In response to user input that selects a particular item from the set of items, it is determined whether the number of lines, in the plurality of lines, that precede the line containing the particular item is less than a first predetermined threshold. If that is the case, a line of undisplayed items that precede the set of items is displayed, while a line of displayed items that follow the particular item is ceased to be displayed.

Abstract: Various “media-components” are provided in a “multi-media center.” In modular architecture, a module-controller communicates with media-modules provided for various media-components. A media-module can include or obtain data pertaining to a particular media-component, identify media-player(s), and access information related to their media. However, the media-modules are isolated from each other, and the module-controller effectively controls output generated in response to user input. A user interface library is provided for the media-modules. Media-modules can obtain a template or other tools from the library and construct their user interface (e.g., menus). Media-modules can also identify a media-player that can be initiated in response to user input. Subsequently, the media-controller forwards user input to the media-player.
