Abstract: A system and method enhance original media including a first audio using generative artificial intelligence, including large language models and media conversion modules. The system includes a graphic user interface (GUI) including a media player and a display region for outputting an enhanced media including the original media, a summary of the original media, and the plurality of chapter headings of the original media. The media player plays the original media, and the display region displays the summary and the plurality of chapter headings. The summary, the plurality of chapter headings, and each of a translation into a selected language and a second audio generated from the summary and the plurality of chapter headings are automatically generated from the original media. The method implements the system.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for modifying content recommendations based on what content items will be available on content platforms to which the user will have access during a trip. Content items to be recommended to the user on a first content platform are identified by comparing characteristics of each available content item to a profile associated with the user. A second content platform to which the user will have access during a particular time period in the near future is also identified. The second content platform is queried to identify content items that will be available during the particular time period. If any content item available on the second content platform during the particular time period also appears in the set of content items identified for recommendation, recommendation of that content item is suppressed.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling video stream playback, and a storage medium are provided. In playing a video stream in a playback region of a mobile display screen, the method includes: obtaining a playback mode switching instruction based on a detected trigger event of a playback mode configuration control; setting a playback mode of the video stream to a target playback mode instructed by the playback mode switching instruction; and in a case that the playback mode of the video stream is set to the automatic playback mode, playing a video content next to a current video content if it is detected that the current video content has been played.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sorting favorite content sources are provided. A list of favorite content sources arranged in a first order is stored. The favorite content sources in the list are accessed according to the order of the favorite content sources in the list. At a given time, a user request to change a currently accessed content source to one of the favorite content sources in the list is received. In response to receiving the user request, an attribute of content presented on the currently accessed content source at the given time is identified. The favorite content sources in the list are rearranged into a second order based on the identified attribute. The favorite content sources in the list are accessed according to the second order in response to receiving the user request.

Abstract: An interface of a device can allow a resource to set a location of a PiP window that is different than the default or predetermined location of the PiP window. The device can set a Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window location. The device can receive a PiP window location request that comprises one or more location parameters that indicate a location for display of a PiP window. The device can set the PiP window location based on the one or more location parameters. The device can then send the PiP window location to a PiP control management service. The resource then is able to control the placement of information associated with the resource to provide the user with an improved user experience.

In some aspects, a user of an interactive media guidance application may select a media asset for viewing on a user device. The interactive media guidance application may receive a user viewing profile for the user from a remote server. If the media asset is determined to not be consistent with the user viewing profile, the interactive media guidance application may retrieve another user viewing profile for another user of the user device. If the media asset is determined to be consistent with the other user viewing profile, the interactive media guidance application may update the other user viewing profile based on the media asset.

Abstract: Systems and associated methods are described for providing content recommendations. The system accesses content item consumption data for a plurality of users subscribed to a media service. Then, the system determines that a first subset of the plurality of users has unsubscribed from the media service and that a second subset of the plurality of users has not unsubscribed from the media service. The system identifies a time slot typical for the first subset of users and atypical for the second subset of users based on content item consumption data of the first subset of users and content item consumption data of the second subset of users. In response to determining that a user is consuming a first content item at the identified time slot, the system generates for display a recommendation for a second content item that is scheduled for a different time slot.

Search queries directed to a first and second videos and associated view durations that the first video was watched in response to the queries are identified from the received search records. A competition score indicating an amount of competition between the first and second videos for views of users of the video hosting system is calculated based on the identified search queries and associated view durations.

An operating status associated with a satellite communication system is determined, the operation status being indicative of the satellite communication system having bandwidth and/or connectivity to route the user requests via a satellite network. Based on the operating status being negative, a first subset of the user requests is queued for transmission. A second subset of the user requests are responded to using an edge cache. Based on the operating status being positive, the user requests are transmitted via the satellite network to a shore-based system, the shore-based system routing the user requests to web applications associated with different functionality.

When scrolling programme items, an item may remain highlighted until it scrolls off the display, at which point the highlighting disappears until scrolling is complete. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.
