Abstract: A helical gear mechanism for a steering system in a motor vehicle comprises a helical pinion which engages with a helical gear and a bearing bushing which accommodates a bearing of the helical pinion. An inner ring of the bearing bushing is connected to an outer ring via a pivot bearing so that a pivoting motion of the helical pinion relative to the helical gear is possible. A pressure piece is disposed between the inner ring and the outer ring of the bearing bushing. The pressure piece is movable in a spring-loaded manner in a section of an annular gap between the inner ring and the outer ring. The inner ring and/or the outer ring are designed in the section so that the annular gap between the inner ring and the outer ring is tapered in the direction in which the pressure piece can be moved in a spring-loaded manner.

Abstract: A sectoral reduction gear is arranged between a motor portion and a link mechanism. The sectoral reduction gear rotates in a reciprocating manner in a predetermined angle range on the basis of a forward rotation and a reverse rotation of the motor portion. An outer periphery of the sectoral reduction gear defines an imaginary circle. An inner region of the imaginary circle has an operating range in which the sectoral reduction gear, which rotates in a reciprocating manner, passes, and a non-operating range, in which the sectoral reduction gear does not pass. As seen from an axial direction of an output shaft, a part or the whole of the output shaft is arranged in the non-operating range.

Abstract: An electro-mechanical actuator is provided resisting back driving of a gear train in at least one direction. The actuator includes an internal gear train. A clutch is coupled to an output of the gear train and transmits a driving force from the gear train to a clutch output. When a back driving force is applied to the clutch output in at least one direction, the clutch assumes a locked configuration. When the clutch is in a locked configuration the clutch resists rotational movement of the output and back driving of the gear train.

  • Patent number: 8191438
Abstract: A drive mechanism (1) of a camera apparatus includes a worm gear (4) to which a rotational driving force of a drive motor (2) is transmitted, a worm wheel (6) around which a helical gear (5) is formed to engage with the worm gear (4), and a support frame (7) which supports the worm wheel (6) rotatably and movably along a rotation axis. A rotational driving force of the worm gear (4) is transmitted to the worm wheel (6) with reduced gear ratio. An externally threaded portion (10) of a shaft portion (8) of the worm wheel (6) is engaged with an internally threaded portion in a supporting hole (14) of the support frame (7), so that the shaft portion (8) moves along the rotation axis when the worm wheel (6) rotates. Consequently, the rotational driving force transmitted to the worm wheel (6) is converted into a linear thrust force along the rotation axis. This makes it possible to provide a camera apparatus which can develop a larger thrust force and adjust an amount of travel more finely.
