Abstract: To provide a method of manufacturing a battery capable of providing an equal amount of electrolyte in each battery and of enhancing productivity and coating machines employed thereof. The sensor detects a boundary from the collector exposed region C of the belt-shaped positive electrode to the positive electrode mixture layer exposed region B, on the basis of the detection timing, the shutter is withdrawn to open the flowing path and the proportioning pomp is driven. Following this, when the sensor detected a boundary from the positive electrode mixture layer exposed region B to a collector exposed region C, and on the basis of the detection timing, the shutter is protruded inside the flowing path to close the flowing path and the proportioning pump stops. As a result of this, the electrolyte stops to be delivered from the nozzle. The electrolyte layers are intermittently formed by repeating the same procedures.

Abstract: A method for applying a coating to an optical surface of an optical device. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of placing a coating solution in a cliche of a cliche plate, transferring the coating solution from the cliche to deformable body of a transfer pad, and pressing the transfer pad to the optical surface so as to transfer the coating solution from the deformable body of the transfer pad to the optical surface. The method further includes a step of irradiating the coating solution associated with the optical surface at a wavelength of microwave so as to form a coating layer on the optical surface. The coating layer can be further cured to form a desired coating on a proper optical surface. The optical device can be an optical lens having at least one optical surface, or a mold that can be used to produce an optical lens. In other words, the present invention allows a coating to be applied directly to an optical surface of an optical lens.

At least at the feed reel side, a clutch mechanism is provided between a driven member of a tape winding portion and a drive side rotary gear for rotating and driving it, and its power transmission makes use of the frictional engaging force in thrust direction between the driven member and drive side rotary gear. This frictional engaging force can be set by properly adjusting the dimensional relation in thrust direction between the mutual constituent members, and therefore the designing and manufacturing conditions of the constituent members are less strict, manufacture is easy, assembling is easy, and hence the manufacturing cost and device cost can be lowered.

  • Patent number: 5730800
Abstract: An improved method is proposed for the preparation of a semiconductor silicon single crystal of N-type by the Czochralski process, which is free from the problem of occurrence of delayed OSFs as defects in the single crystal even after prolonged storage at room temperature based on the discovery that presence of a certain amount of aluminum in the melt of silicon contained in a fused silica glass crucible acts to suppress occurrence of delayed OSFs as a type of defects in the single crystal while copper as an impurity acts adversely in this regard. With a known fact that an about 30 .mu.m thick inner surface layer of the crucible is melted down into the silicon melt during the single crystal pulling-up process, namely, the invention proposes use of a crucible of which the inner surface layer of 30 .mu.m thickness contains aluminum in an average concentration of 40 to 500 ppm by weight while the content of copper is as low as possible not to exceed 0.5 ppb by weight.

  • Patent number: 5702524
Abstract: The present invention is an improved flywheel for damping vibrations in a coating roll. The improved flywheel has an inner plate and an outer plate and sandwiched between the two plates are alternating rings of a solid body material such as aluminum or steel and conventional vibration damping material. Typically, the flywheel is attached to the coating roll outside of the bearing mounting block. The flywheel is designed such that movement of the inner and outer plates relative to each other works to compress the damping material sandwiched between the two plates. The plates are fastened together so that torsional motion between the plates, alternating rings, and coating roll is prevented. This compression of the damping material results in the absorption and dissipation of vibrational energy of the radial bending of the coating roll.

  • Patent number: 5683508
Abstract: An improved coating apparatus which uniformly applies inks and other compositions onto substrates. The apparatus has the facility of an automated washing cycle for cleanup between different coating compositions. It includes an applicator for applying a liquid to a substrate; a supply pump which draw the liquid from a reservoir to the applicator means; a return pump which draw the liquid away from the applicator to a drain or back to the reservoir; and a flow controller which independently controls the pumping action of each of the supply pump and the return pump such that a return pumping force is maintained which is greater than an applied supply pumping force. The pumps and a series of three-port valves are automechanically adjusted to sequentially cause the apparatus to draw a liquid from a reservoir and direct the liquid to the applicator, drain the liquid from the apparatus, circulate a cleaning solution about the apparatus and drain the cleaning solution from the apparatus.
