Abstract: A repair assembly for the skid plate of a circular saw and its associated method of repair. If a circular saw has a skid plate that is worn to a point where it needs replacement, this repair assembly is used to reinforce the worn skid plate so it can again be used. The repair assembly includes a flat plate structure having a sort extension and a long extension protruding from different sides. The long extension and the short extension mount directly onto the worn skid plate. The flat plate structure therefore covers the wear surfaces of the worn skid plate, therein providing new wear surfaces. The repair assembly attached over the worn skid plate so the worn skid plate does not have to be removed.

  • Patent number: 7469695
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a single stone into a regular dodecahedral ornament or a regular icosahedral ornament, and the ornament manufactured according to the method are provided. The method enables the ornament to be manufactured at low costs with ease without using a complicated, numerically computer-controlled shaping machine. The geometric features determining the faces and ridges of a regular dodecahedron or a regular icosahedron are drawn as cutting base lines on each surface of a cubic workpiece. On a face formed by cutting based on the cutting base lines, new auxiliary cutting lines are sequentially drawn by marking. Then, based on these auxiliary cutting lines and the remaining cutting base lines, a possible cut face is determined, which is in turn cut using a cutting tool. The cutting base lines which are erased after each cutting are complemented by auxiliary cutting lines to find a new possible cut face, which is in turn cut in sequence, thereby manufacturing the regular polyhedral ornament.

  • Patent number: 7128066
Abstract: Disclosed is a diamond tool having a metal plate inserted therein. Between abrasive layers containing diamond particles is inserted a ferrous or non-ferrous metal plate having a wear resistance lower than that of the abrasive layers such that a concave groove is spontaneously formed during a cutting process, thereby reducing the contact load with a workpiece to thereby avoid vibration (wobbling) of a shank, and providing a discharge path for smoothly removing cutting chips and the cooling water. In addition, the content of abrasives and the wear resistance of bonding material are uniformly constituted so that the shrinkage rate does not need to be considered during sintering and the manufacturing process can be simplified, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost and improving the productivity therefor. Furthermore, the area of the metal plate can be controlled, thereby enabling an easy design conforming to the working conditions with a workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6860260
Abstract: Base seat of a pneumatic grinder, including an air way and a water way disposed in the base seat to respectively communicate with an air chamber and a water chamber formed in the base seat. Several water outlets and a predetermined number of air rooms are disposed on a bottom face of the base seat. The water outlets communicate with the water chamber, while the air rooms communicate with the air chamber. Multiple ball bodies are respectively rollably disposed in the air rooms, the bottom edge of the ball bodies protrude from the bottom face of the base seat. When high pressure air and water are conducted into the air way and water way, the air is conducted by the air way to flow into the air chamber and to blow to the ball bodies in the air rooms making the ball bodies rolling easily. The water flows through the water way into the water chamber and then flows through the water outlets out of the bottom face of the base seat to reduce frictional force against the bottom face of the base seat.

  • Patent number: 6827073
Abstract: A block splitting tool having a splitting blade that is formed by edges of a plurality of smaller splitter segments. The splitter segments are arranged in a side-by-side relation such that the edges form a substantially continuous blade that is generally corrugated or jagged. The splitter segments may be operatively connected to a suitable support that, in turn, is attached to a block splitting machine. When the splitting blade of the tool engages and splits a block, the edges of the splitter segments form a plurality of fracture zones that are angled with respect to each other, which results in roughened facings on the newly cleaved smaller blocks. In a preferred embodiment, the splitter segments are removably attached to a support plate, so that they may be repositioned, replaced, and/or repaired.

Abstract: The present invention provides for an apparatus for forming a V groove in a sheet of natural, synthetic or engineered stone material. The apparatus comprises a table for supporting a work piece of natural, synthetic or engineered stone material to be cut, two or more cutting heads aligned to cut along the same line of the work piece of natural, synthetic or engineered stone material and a mechanism for moving the work piece or the cutting heads relative to one another to cut the V groove in the natural, synthetic or engineered stone work piece. Each of the cutting heads removes material from the natural, synthetic or engineered stone work piece with the final cutting head forming the shape of the desired V groove. Each of the cutting heads is provided with a means for air cooling the cutting surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6783442
Abstract: The invention relates to a saw wire consisting essentially of a steel wire, an intermediate layer and a metallic binding phase into which diamond grains with an average diameter of 10 to 50 micrometers are inserted, characterized in that the metallic binding phase has a hardness of between 600 and 1100 HV 0.1 and consists of an inner layer and an outer layer which are arranged concentrically around the steel wire provided with the intermediate layer. The inner layer has a thickness of approximately between 10 and 25% of the average diamond grain diameter, while the thickness of the outer layer is such that the overall thickness of the metallic binding phase is 45-55% of the average diamond grain diameter and the diamond grains have an average interval of not more than 5 times their average diameter. Other fine particles with an average diameter of 1 to 6 micrometers are located between the diamond grains with an average diameter of 10 to 50 micrometers.

  • Patent number: 6772749
Abstract: A band saw with a complex coordination of a tilting motion and a translational motion between the workpiece and the band saw blade, so that a curved cut is made in the workpiece. The geometric parameters of the cut can be continuously adjusted. This makes it possible to optimize a contact length of the saw blade in the workpiece, which is an important factor in the cutting process. It is thus possible to saw workpieces made of stone and similar materials that are typically difficult to cut. The cut and the contact length of the saw blade can be tailored individually to each workpiece to be sawed. Thus, workpieces of different geometrical dimensions and different material properties, in particular with different material hardnesses, can be processed using the band saw according to the invention without having to undertake significant changes.

  • Patent number: 6752139
Abstract: A worktable, which is incorporated with a cutting machine, includes a table body and a cutting end support. The table body has at least a guiding rail formed on an upper surface for guiding a cutting pathway of a saw blade wherein the guiding rail has an opening end portion extended from an edge of the table body. The cutting end support is mounted on the table body at the opening end portion of the guiding rail. The saw blade is adapted to cut through the cutting end support to form a cutting groove when the saw blade is suspendedly slid along the opening end portion of the guiding rail. Therefore, a bottom side of an edge portion of the work piece is substantially supported by the cutting end support when the saw blade cuts the edge portion of the work piece through the cutting groove.
