  • Patent number: 6282755
Abstract: In a process for feeding of textile fibers supplied from a point of delivery of a textile machine to a drafting equipment which continues to process the fibers, the fibers supplied from the point of delivery are formed into a fiber sliver. They are then conveyed in the form of the fiber sliver to a drafting equipment which continues to process the fiber sliver, whereby the fibers are conveyed at least in the area before the drafting equipment by a feed mechanism and are introduced by same into the drafting equipment. In a textile machine to carry out the process, the feed mechanism is provided with a conveying channel which is located between the point of delivery and the input area of the drafting equipment and which conveys the fiber sliver. The conveying channel reaches up to the input area of the drafting equipment. The feed mechanism is provided with a drive arrangement for the conveying of the fiber sliver in the conveying channel.

Abstract: A condensing zone for condensing a drafted twist-free fiber strand is arranged downstream of a drafting arrangement of a ring spinning machine. The condensing zone includes a stationary sliding surface having a suction slit extending essentially in a fiber strand transport direction. A perforated transport belt transports the fiber strand over the suction slit of the sliding surface. The transport belt wraps around a bottom roller of a front roller pair of the drafting arrangement and is driven by the bottom roller. The transport belt drives in turn a nipping roller, which limits the condensing zone on its exit side with a nipping point serving as a twist block. • Patent number: 6032336
Abstract: When a roller cylinder of a top roller is installed, it may collide against an outer bearing and damage it. Since the roller cylinder is loosened, when drafting is executed at a high speed, the roller cylinder may vibrate, causing non-uniform drafting. A pre-loading spring 30 is installed between an inner bearing 20 and an outer bearing 21 and on the inner circumferential side. Due to the elastic force of the pressurizing spring 30, inner rings 20b and 21b of the bearings rotate integrally with a shaft 10. When the roller cylinder 12 is installed, if it collides against the outer bearing 21, the pre-loading spring 30 acts as a buffer to prevent damage to the bearings. O-rings 31 and 32 installed between outer rings 20a and 21a of the bearings 20 and 21 fill the gap to prevent the roller cylinder 12 from loosening. As a result, uniform drafting can be executed at a high speed.

Abstract: In a textile machine with a drafting arrangement and textile spindles, the spindles are driven by an electric main drive. The drafting arrangement cylinders are coupled so that their speed is a given proportion of the speed of the main drive. The coupling is via a position-controlled brushless D.C. motor with electronic commutation for driving the drafting arrangement. An additional flywheel mass on the drafting arrangement drive is dimensioned so that the slowing-down time of the drafting arrangement is of the same order as the slowing-down time of the main drive, resulting in controlled slowing-down conditions if the voltage suddenly fails. The drafting arrangement motor can be made much smaller than hitherto. Also, the starting and slowing-down conditions can be accurately and sensitively controlled, thus reducing the risk of thread breakages.

  • Patent number: 5528798
Abstract: A process for controlling the operation of a textile draw frame wherein a plurality of fiber slivers are fed to the draw frame at a predetermined desired delivery speed includes monitoring the presence of individual fiber slivers delivered to the draw frame and decreasing the delivery speed of the draw frame if any of the monitored fiber slivers is indicated as missing from being fed to the draw frame. The process includes subsequently increasing the delivery speed of the draw frame if the respective missing fiber slivers are again indicated as being fed to the draw frame. The invention also includes a draw frame including apparatus for carrying out the controlling process.

  • Patent number: 5509179
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a fiber processing plant including a series of processing stages in order to supply fibrous material as a product with predetermined qualities, whereby the qualities of the product can be influenced by suitable, selectively adjustable treatment of fibrous material during its passage through the plant and whereby in at least one of the intermediate stages of the plant an ascertainable quality of the product of this stage is determined. In this intermediate stage a signal is obtained which is equivalent to the ascertainable quality and which is used for controlling the previous stages.

Abstract: The combing machine has a row of combing heads which are allocated with a drive shaft extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the row. The combing heads are provided downstream with a drafting arrangement whose cylinders are arranged horizontally and at a right angle to the drive shaft. A funnel wheel and a can plate are rotatable about vertical axes. The transmission for driving the cylinders of the drafting arrangement, the funnel wheel and the can plate has two V-drives with a crossed toothed belt each. The first V-drive connects the drive shaft to a drafting arrangement drive shaft which is parallel to the cylinders of the drafting arrangement. The second V-drive connects a shaft which is parallel to the drafting arrangement drive shaft to a vertical drive shaft for the funnel wheel and the can plate.

  • Patent number: 5491876
Abstract: Disclosed are various needle-based devices for individualizing single fibers and other entities from a fibrous mass, particularly for testing purposes. In one embodiment, an accelerated pin drafting machine has a plurality of combing elements which sequentially pierce a fiber mat and move within a drafting zone with increasing distance between adjacent combing elements. The accelerated pin drafting machine in turn feeds a fiber individualizer. In another embodiment, a comb-like needle sampler is provided which moves past a perforated plate such that portions of fibrous material protruding through the perforations are loaded onto the needle sampler. An elastomer clamping feedroll moves against the needles to clamp the sample, and then rotates to gradually feed fibers from the sampler. As an alternative to the elastomer clamping feedroll, a clamping block presses against the needles, and the needles are slowly retracted to gradually release fibers.

  • Patent number: 5463556
Abstract: The invention relates to an autolevelling draw-frame of the textile industry in which the drafting of the fiber sliver can be modified in a controlled and/or autolevelled manner. It is the object of the invention to analyze electrical signals or measured values of a draw-frame so that correction may be made on basis of these analyses. This object is attained in that additional, time-related signal analyses are conducted independently of autolevelling. They make it possible to recognize corrigible deviations within the analyzed signals as well as the establishment of appropriate correction values. If deviations exceed a tolerance, a determination is made in combination with the knowledge memory of a computer whether the deviation is due to a disturbance in the machine or whether the deviation can be explained as a logical consequence.

Abstract: Combing machine. The combing machine includes a process control computer for the preparatory machine of a textile spinning mill, the former being located upstream of a combing machine which reacts to signals from the combing machine, which signals are representative both of the evenness of feed material supplied to a controlled drafting arrangement as well as of the comber waste share, with the computer producing a signal which is indicative of a change in the evenness behavior of the machines located upstream of the combing machine when the evenness of the feed material changes while the comber waste share remains unchanged. A method for operating the combing machine is also set forth.

Abstract: A sliver guiding arrangement for drafting units of spinning machines is provided with forcibly traversing sliver guides. Two sliver guides respectively which are assigned to adjacent slivers and which are connected in front of a wedge-shaped gap of a clamping roller pair, are connected with one another by a coupling member to form one structural member. The coupling member is driven via a driving device by a traversing rod to carry out traversing movements. The driving device, which bridges a distance between the traversing rod and the coupling member, is movable relative to the coupling member in the direction of the wedge-shaped gap. The structural member, which includes the sliver guides, is guided in parallel to the wedge-shaped gap on a sliding surface.
