Abstract: A protective cartridge case for housing a storage cartridge is provided. The protective cartridge case includes a housing having a top and bottom portion for enclosing a storage cartridge, the top and bottom portions having major surfaces that oppose each other along a vertical direction, and a latch member for selectively securing the top portion and bottom portion in a closed position. The latch member secures the top and bottom portion in a closed position with substantially zero tension on the latch member in the horizontal direction.

Abstract: A themolaminating film for receiving a blister portion in the construction of a reusable package is described. A base blister portion configured to receive some form of media or material is molded from a formable heat sealable polymer such as PETG. A film consisting of a first layer of an amorphous polyester such as APET for heat sealing to the PETG, a second layer of a polyester such as PET, and an adhesive layer is used to laminate a graphical paper based cover thereby allowing the laminated cover to be heat sealed to the blister portion. In a preferred embodiment, the PET and APET are preferably coextruded.

Abstract: A memory card holder and organizer is disclosed providing consumers with a compact, convenient, and complete solution to organize their flash memory cards and catalog the contents of each memory card. An individual memory card holder includes a piece of paper, cardboard or other stock to which is affixed a memory card pocket for holding a memory card. The stock further includes an indexing space next to the memory card pocket, which indexing space may have lines printed on the stock for a user to provide a description of the contents of the memory card stored in the pocket. One or more individual memory card holders may be stored within pockets on a folio panel, or page. The card holders may be on a front surface of a folio page, and the back surface may have a corresponding number of pockets for storing print-outs or other information contained on or related to the contents of the memory card within the corresponding pocket on the front surface of the folio.

Abstract: A package for storing a fragile article includes a plurality of panel integrally connected to one another a fold lines. Pairs of two of the panels oppose one another in a spaced relation wherein the panels form a partial enclosure. A first tab connects to about an open end surface of the enclosure and has a slotted surface formed therein which provides a first retention surface for a portion of the article. A second tab connects about second open end surface and has a shelf with a slotted surface formed therein which provides a second retention surface for another portion of the article and a complete enclosure is so formed wherein the article is retained in suspended manner in a spaced relation from each of the panels.

Abstract: Composite materials that include a resin containing a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture that contains at least one polymerizable monomer and a magnetic material, where the composite material can be used to make sheet stock and articles, such as storage containers. The composite materials can be made by mechanical milling the magnetic material into the resin or by using bulk, suspension, emulsion, mini-emulsion or micro-emulsion polymerization techniques where the resin is formed in the presence of the magnetic material. Articles made of the composite material can be used in a method of deterring theft of an article which includes providing the above-described container, applying a magnetic field to an interrogation zone, causing movement of the container into the interrogation zone, and detecting a magnetic response resulting from the container moving into the interrogation zone.

Abstract: An external controller of burning record for compact disks comprises a control box and a circuit board. The control box has the front panel thereof extending two pivotal connectors to join two docking boxes containing a data record loader and a compact disk burning record device respectively. The rear side of the control box provides a power supply to obtain the direct current with stabilized voltage. A control switch for powering on or off and for starting or shutting off the burning operation is also provided on the rear side of control box. The circuit board is received in the control box and receives the direct current with stabilized voltage. There are related wires on the circuit board to connect with the preceding components. A control chip is on the circuit board to contain a recording firmware and to offer the compact disk burning record device a recording program so as to execute related steps of burning record.

Abstract: A book-like package for holding, protecting and displaying products, such as data storage devices. The present invention has a book like cover with graphics imprinted upon it. The cover wraps around rigid plastic trays stacked to look like pages of a book. The rigid plastic trays hold compact discs, DVDs, descriptive booklets and other materials on the front, back or both surfaces. The package can be made as large or small as needed by simply adding additional trays and increasing the width of a flexible spine. The flexible spine is located between the front and back cover of the package. Adhesive binder attaches the rigid trays to the flexible spine. The binder is then heated to about 150 C in order to set and stabilize it. After the binder has been heated, the rigid trays are permanently adhered to the book covers.

Abstract: A high capacity motorized rack holds a plurality of jewel case enclosed CDs in holders flexibly inter-connectable with each other to form a rotatable continuous loop. The loop is rotatably retained within a vertical rack housing and is driven by a motor, disposed within the housing, under user control such that the loop is rotated until a desired CD is moved to the top region of the belt. A rack may hold two or more such loops of inter-connected holders. In one embodiment a holder retains a single jewel case, and comprises two independent loops that are rotated with a single motor. A lamp and/or barcode scanner may be disposed on the housing for ease of CD selection. The housing base preferably is detached during shipping to permit transporting the rack in a smaller volume container. User control can include voice commands to direct loop rotation and speed.

When the top cover is closed on the bottom cover, the top and bottom cover insertion paths combine to form a combined lock insertion path. A lock for the storage case includes first and second catch mechanisms with first and second catches. To lock the storage case, the lock is inserted into the combined lock insertion path so that the catches on the lock mate with and are retained with the hooks in the top and bottom covers.

Modified disc media are rotationally aligned on the spindle using corresponding alignment protrusion(s) formed on the spindle and notch(es) on the inner chuck hole of the disc. Accordingly, disc media is further modified with the addition of indexing notches on the outer circumference of the disk, such that each disc within the system is provided a unique notched-index. The aligned stack is protected by a cover member that forms a disc lifting device. A disc of interest is indexed and retrieved from the stack by rotating the cover member relative to the disc stack thereby aligning the disc notch-index with the lifting device. When the cover member is raised, the lifting device separates the stack at the disc of interest.
