  • Patent number: 4912715
Abstract: In a semiconductor laser module incorporating a driving circuit therein, which contains a semiconductor laser mounted on an electronic cooling element and a semiconductor laser driving IC within the same package, is provided an electrode lead on a stem for mounting a semiconductor laser, for connecting the semiconductor laser with a board carrying a driving IC and the dimensions of the electrode lead are defined so as to reduce the stray capacitance and the parasitic inductance and to optimize the thermal resistance. A gap of a value not to introduce an increase of an unnecessary inductance between the semiconductor laser mounting portion and the driver IC mounting board is provided to spatially divide the semiconductor laser mounting portion and the driver IC mounting board. Thereby, the inflow of the heat generated in a driver IC into a semiconductor laser mounted on an electronic cooling element can be suppressed without degrading the high speed modulation characteristics in the giga-bits band.

  • Patent number: 4912674
Abstract: A mask-programmed ROM includes depletion type load MOSFETs provided between data lines in a memory array and a power supply voltage, the MOSFETs having a ground potential of the circuit applied to their gates. Reading of data is carried out by an amplifying MOSFET which supplies a current to a selected data line through a depletion type MOSFET which is supplied at its gate with the circuit ground potential. Thus, bias voltages which are respectively applied to the data lines and a sense amplifier which receives a signal read out from a selected data line are made equal to each other, thereby achieving a high-speed read operation.

  • Patent number: 4910968
Abstract: A refrigerating apparatus has a refrigerating cycle including an electromotive compressor whose operational speed is variable in accordance with a drive frequency, and a control unit for operating the compressor at a frequency correspondent to a load so as to control the operation of the refrigerating cycle. Control of the operational frequency of the compressor by the control unit is effected on the basis of target super heat amounts of a discharged gas which is predetermined over an operational frequency range of the compressor. The target super heat amounts are set such that within a lower region of the operational frequency range, each target amount is larger than a super heat amount at which the maximum refrigeration capability is obtained at each operational frequency, so as to suppress a suction pressure of the compressor within an allowable limit for the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4912730
Abstract: A mechanism for recovering respective binary states of an input data signal in synchronism with transitions of the input data signal carries out the following sequence of steps. First, the binary state of the input data signal is sampled in accordance with consecutively occurring transitions of a high speed clock signal, the repetition frequency of which is at least three times the data transition rate. Upon the occurrence of a difference in binary state of successive samples of the input data signal at consecutive transitions of the clock signal, a signal representative of such a change is generated. In response to this change of state or transition-representative signal, the binary state of a delayed version of the input data signal, at a time whereat the input data signal is stable, is sampled. In order to reliably monitor the state of the communication link over which the data is transmitted, the binary state of the input data signal is periodically sampled.

  • Patent number: 4912524
Abstract: The invention relates to a system to transmit digital signals reproduced from a compact disk player, a digital audio tape recorder or the like. In order to increase the S/N ratio of transmission of the digital signals, the occurrence probability of data to be transmitted is made low and light emission time of a light emission element is made small, and the peak value of emission is increased corresponding to the above reduction. As a result, the S/N ratio can be increased in the same transmission band as that in the prior art. In order to reduce the occurrence probability of data, a method of generating pulses at the leading edge and the trailing edge of a pulse signal or a method of compressing data is provided.
