Abstract: A double-meshing-type silent chain of a silent chain drive includes link plates having the identical side profile. Each link plate has two meshing teeth and a flat back face formed opposite to the meshing teeth. Two kinds of links are alternately arranged in the longitudinal direction of the chain, while the adjacent links are connected by pins. In one kind of link, an odd number of the link plates are disposed in the width direction of the chain. In the other kind of link, an even number of the link plates are disposed in the width direction of the chain. In each link, the link plates are oriented such that the meshing teeth of link plates located at widthwise opposite ends project outwardly with respect to the chain and the meshing teeth of the remaining link plates project inwardly with respect to the chain. Various types of sprockets used for meshing with the double-meshing-type silent chain are also disclosed.
Abstract: A radar apparatus for preventing a problem due to an abnormal state such as degradation of a transmitting or receiving unit. The apparatus includes a transmitting section including beam transmitting units for radiating a plurality of beams, where adjacent beams have an overlapped portion; and a receiving section including beam receiving units for receiving reflection waves reflected from a target object. Transmitting and receiving combinations between the beam transmitting units and the beam receiving units are determined so as to detect the position of the target object. The apparatus further includes a sensitivity comparing section for comparing sensitivities with respect to the transmitting and receiving combinations; and an abnormal state determination section for determining an abnormal state of any one of the above units based on a result of the comparison of the sensitivity comparing section.
Abstract: An arithmetic processing method and system in a wide velocity range flight velocity vector measurement system using a square truncated pyramid-shape five-hole Pitot probe. Approximation equations that determine attack angle &agr; and sideslip angle &bgr; in the form of third-order equations concerning attack angle pressure coefficient C&agr; and sideslip angle pressure coefficient C&bgr;, which are known numbers, are expressed in the form of a polynomial equation concerning Mach number M, where the coefficients are obtained from a lookup table.

Abstract: The present invention provides a thermoplastic resin composition comprising (A) a graft copolymer containing a rubber having a small particle diameter, (B) a graft copolymer containing a rubber having a middle particle diameter, (C) an &agr;-methylstyrene and/or maleimide-based copolymer having a reduced viscosity of from 0.45 to 1.2 and (D) a styrene-based copolymer having a reduced viscosity of from 0.20 to 0.45. The thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention is low in rigidity such as tensile strength, so ductile that its molded product shows no sharp edge on rupture cross-section upon collision, has a high resistance to thermal deformation and exhibits an excellent moldability.
Abstract: A pinhole camera in which a conical lens with an apical angle of 91.13° to 91.15° is used to correct the fisheye characteristics, and ⅓-inch fixed charged coupled device and a pinhole with a diameter of 0.8 mm are adopted to obtain clear image of a subject in an range from a point closely adjacent to the camera to a point far from the camera with strong contrast. The pinhole video camera comprising: a printed circuit board to which ⅓-inch fixed coupled charged device is attached; a holder fixed so as to cover a front surface of the coupled charged device of the printed circuit board; a lens holder having a pinhole with a diameter of 0.8 mm; a conical convex lens with an apical angle of 91.13° to 91.15°, the conical convex lens fixed on a rear face side of the pinhole of the lens holder.
Abstract: A bar-code reader having a photoelectric conversion unit for converting reflected light from a bar code into an electric signal and a changing point detecting unit for detecting, from the electric signal generated by the photoelectric conversion unit, a changing point at which a white stripe is changed to a black stripe in the bar code wherein the bar code is read based on a plurality of changing points detected by the changing point detecting unit. The bar-code reader includes a determination unit for determining, based on measurement of a distance between changing points, whether a changing point is detected as a true changing point at which a white stripe or a black stripe is changed to a black stripe or a white stripe in a bar code or as a false changing point; and a correcting unit for correcting the changing point detected as the false changing point to the true detecting point based on the changing point determined as the true changing point.
Abstract: An engine control apparatus is provided for a hybrid vehicle that installs an engine and a motor as driving power sources for driving wheels as well as an automatic transmission such as CVT. The engine control apparatus basically operates to enable automatic stop and restart of the engine in response to drive conditions of the vehicle. In addition, the engine control apparatus cuts off fuel supply to the engine at a deceleration mode of the vehicle. At a deceleration mode of the vehicle under execution of fuel cut, the engine control apparatus maintains idle rotation of the engine by operating the motor to rotate in response to engine speed until the automatic transmission is returned to a restart-enable reduction ratio (e.g., 2.2 to 2.45). That is, the engine control apparatus allows execution of an engine stop after securing a restart-enable state of the automatic transmission.
Abstract: A bag holder for suspending a bag thereat with an opening portion of the bag directed upward, comprising a pair of arm members respectively provided with holding members for engaging and holding an opening edge portion of the bag, a pair of crossing means that intersect with each other being extended downward from end portions of the arm members and making the pair of arm members freely open/close around a fulcrum portion, and a pair of grounding members being extended from lower ends of the pair of crossing members as to oppose the pair of arm members. Attaching/detaching of the bag can be easily performed since the bag might simply be hung against or detached from a pair of holding means. Further, since bags can be held in a suspend manner, the external appearance thereof can be made attractive and cleaning of the floor can be easily performed.
Abstract: An output control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle is provided, capable of preventing stopping of the engine at the time of recovering from a deceleration fuel cut and improving the acceleration capability. In a hybrid vehicle comprising an engine, a motor for assisting the driving power of the engine, and a battery for supplying electric power for the motor, the output control apparatus comprises an engine speed sensor, an idle stop execution judgement flag F_FCEX, and a motor ECU for judging whether the output assistance by the motor is to be executed, and the motor ECU comprises a deceleration fuel cut returning time permission judgement device (S026) for permitting the output assistance by the motor, when it is judged to return from the deceleration fuel cut by the flag value of the idle stop execution judgement flag F_FCEX, and when it is detected that the engine speed at the time of returning from the deceleration fuel cut is lower than a predetermined engine speed #NEMGMOT.
Abstract: A leaf transfer mechanism unit, to be incorporated in general in an automatic teller machine, defines a leaf reception room between a pickup roller and a partition member. Behind the partition member, a leaf delivery room is defined between the partition member and a retrieval urging member. When the retrieval urging member is allowed to move forward within the limit of a front limit position, bills received in the leaf delivery room can be urged against the pickup roller. During this operation, the partition member is kept at a turnout position beyond the front limit position of the retrieval urging member. The pickup roller is exposed behind the partition member. Since the turnout position can be defined at the extension of the path of movement for the retrieval urging member, it is possible to avoid the partition member at the turnout position from largely and remarkably protruding out of the path of movement.
Abstract: The semiconductor device comprises: an insulation film 72 having a contact hole 74 which reaches a substrate 10 formed in; an interconnection layer 78 connected to the substrate 10 through the contact hole 74; a blocking layer 80 formed of the same conducting layer as the interconnection layer 78; an insulation film 82 formed on the insulation film 72; and fuses 88 formed on the insulation film 82 in a region where the blocking layer formed. This structure of the semiconductor device makes it possible that the blocking layer 80 for restraining the laser ablation to be formed without complicating the conventional semiconductor device fabrication steps.
Abstract: A tensioner for a camshaft driving chain (a plunger device 17 shown in the first embodiment of the invention) and a hydraulic control valve 21 are disposed close to each other. An oil passage 31 for supplying an oil pressure to the tensioner is caused to branch off from a downstream side of an oil filter 27 provided at an inlet port 28 of the hydraulic control valve. With this construction, the arrangement of the oil passage can be simplified, and therefore not only can man hours required for forming the oil passage be reduced, but also the number of components required can also be reduced by commonizing the oil filter. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an improved assembling arrangement for a tensioner and a hydraulic control valve in an internal combustion engine without involving an increase in production costs.

Abstract: An X-ray generator includes a hermetically sealed main generator unit, and an electron gun and a target housed inside the main generator unit, and bombards the target with electrons emitted from the electron gun and passes an X-ray beam emitted from the surface of the target owing to the bombardment to the exterior through an exit window. An X-ray optical element is provided inside the main generator unit on the output path of the X-ray beam emitted from the target for regulating the X-ray beam and the X-ray beam regulated by the X-ray optical element is passed through the exit window. This configuration improves the durability of the X-ray optical element and enables the length of the X-ray path to the X-ray irradiation point to be shortened so as to suppress attenuation of the emitted X-ray beam by air resistance and thereby reduce power consumption.
Abstract: A noise reducer for construction machinery, which efficiently reduces noise at low cost with durability, is provided. For this purpose, lamination plates (8) which are the plates being laminated are bonded, discretely at a predetermined interval (a1), to a part of or the entire of a noise generating element. Lamination plates (8A, 8E) may be bonded discretely at a plurality of kinds of bonding intervals (a1, a2). The lamination plates (8) with the different number of laminations may be bonded according to a noise generating element.
Abstract: A solar cell device (2) is formed into a laminated structure by providing a transparent oxide electrode (12) on the surface of an insulating substrate (10) which is a transparent glass substrate, providing a surface treatment layer (14) by performing oxidative plasma treatment on the surface of the transparent oxide electrode (12), providing a silicon nitride film (16) on the surface treatment layer (14), and laminating a p-type semiconductor layer (18), a buffer layer (20), an intrinsic semiconductor layer (22), an n-type semiconductor layer (24), and a metal electrode (26) on the silicon nitride film (16) in that order. Thereby, the surface of the transparent oxide electrode (12) is chemically stabilized by the surface treatment layer (14), resulting in improved open circuit voltage.

Abstract: The present invention aims at providing an optical unit, its manufacturing method, and electrophotographic device that can easily and inexpensively achieve a reliable latent image formation on a photosensitive drum, and can form a high-quality image. To realize the above aims, a lens barrel and a collimating lens are bonded only at a single spot, and the bonding orientation is aligned approximately with a main scanning direction. Thereby displacement of the collimating lens caused by a thermal expansion of the adhesive is restricted to the main scanning direction as adjustable by other components.
