Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device having shallow p-n junctions and silicide regions, capable of meeting both requirements of a high annealing temperature and a low annealing temperature. A lamination of two films made of materials having different etching characteristics is formed on the surface of a silicon substrate, covering an insulated gate electrode structure. The upper film is anisotropically etched to form side wall spacers. Impurity ions are implanted into a surface layer of the silicon substrate and sufficiently activated to a first level. The lower film is removed by using as a mask the side wall spacers, and a metal film capable of being silicided is deposited to perform a first silicidation reaction. The insulated gate electrode is exposed and impurity ions are implanted shallowly in the surface layer of the silicon substrate.

Abstract: A magnetic field generator for MRI comprises a pair of plate yokes opposed to each other with space in between. A magnet is provided in each of the opposed surfaces of the pair of plate yokes. A column yoke is connected to the pair of plate yokes. An enhancing member made of magnetic material and having a curved slant face is provided in an inner surface of the connection between the column yoke and the plate yokes at a place farthest from the magnet. A first bolt of magnetic field adjusting bolts is screwed into the plate yoke, with a tip of the first bolt contacting the enhancing member. A second bolt of the magnetic field adjusting bolts is screwed into the plate yoke, with a tip of the second bolt contacting an upper end face of the column yoke. An engaging portion for engagement of the enhancing member with the yoke may be provided.
Abstract: An exposure device in which an image forming lens is disposed in such a posture that the center line of an image forming is out of axial alignment with the center of beam intensity distribution of the light emitting diode output (the center of beam intensity distribution) so as to reduce possible incidence of stray light when local part of the light output from the light emitting diode array reflects on said wires. As a result, the stray light does not strikes the circumference surface of the image supporting body and the vivid image can be formed.
Abstract: Various oxime derivatives are provided, which do not cause any chemical damage to plants and which exhibit sufficient effectiveness against various plant diseases. The oxime derivatives are expressed by two general chemical formulas (1) and (2), as follows.
Agricultural chemicals and plant disease control chemicals are also provided which contain the above mentioned oxime derivatives as active ingredients. Test results of these agricultural chemicals and the plant disease control chemicals are proved to be very effective for downey mildews and late blights or Phytophthora rot etc.
Abstract: A projection exposure apparatus for projecting a pattern image of an illuminated mask onto a substrate. The optical path can be divided into a plurality of hermetic blocks each having an inert gas sealed therein by a plurality of partition devices. According a one aspect of the invention, a hermetic sealing member is disposed in the space between the substrate-side of the projection optical system and the substrate for replacing the atmosphere existing in the optical path of the illuminating light in that space by a substance other than oxygen. According to another aspect of the invention, a plurality of independent chambers are formed in a frame. Lids, piping, and valves in the chambers are opened or closed in response to the value detected by oxygen density sensors.
Abstract: A cassette loading mechanism comprises a tray disposed inwardly of a side plate on a chassis and movable in a cassette loading direction for holding a cassette, and a loading member disposed externally of the side plate for driving the tray. The side plate is provided with engaging pieces corresponding to an upper end and a lower end of the loading member. The loading member is formed in the lower end thereof corresponding to the engaging piece with a cutout for permitting the loading member to move to inside the engaging piece when positioned for mounting on the side plate. The loading member is mounted on the side plate by fitting the upper end thereof to the other engaging piece of the side plate and causing the other end of the loading member to clear the engaging piece at the cutout and to move to inside of the engaging piece. The loading member is slidable from the mounted position to move within a range in which the loading member is in engagement with the side plate.

Abstract: This invention relates to a printing device that performs fixation after transfer, and which prevents the occurrence of no transfer even when feeding the paper backward starting printing from the next page after the final page. This printing device comprises image-formation units (3, 4) that transfer a toner image, a fixation unit (5), and a control unit (10). The control unit (10) control adjustment of the moisture content on either the final page or leading page. In order to do that, it lowers the fixation energy of the fixation unit (5) for the final page. There is a moisture-adjustment mechanism (16) that reduces the moisture content of the leading page. Heat energy is applied to the leading page by the fixation unit (5). This reduces the difference in the amount of shrinkage between the final page and the leading page, and prevents wrinkling of the leading page.

The controller controls the flow control valve to flow the carrier gas at the designated flow rate into the introduction part, reads an output of the pressure sensor after making the exhaust valve fully open, calculates a flow path resistance of the filter by using an output of the pressure sensor and a flow path resistance of the chromatographic column, and controls the monitor screen to display an indication for exchanging the filter when the calculated resistance reaches the preset value corresponding to a state in which the filter is stuffed.

Abstract: A helical antenna having an antenna element covered with an insulating layer is formed by monolithically form the insulating layer so that the antenna element is integrated with the insulating layer. To be more precise, first, a cylindrical shell, which received a core pin in its center hole, is inserted into the antenna element along the longitudinal axis of the antenna element. The antenna element is put in a cavity of a molding die. A moulding resin which was heated and molten at a temperature higher than the melting point of the cylindrical shell is injected into the cavity to form an insulating cover over the cylindrical shell and the antenna element.
