Abstract: The present invention relates to a measuring device which comprises electrodes fabricated on porous membrane substrate in which the sample migrates chromatographically; and the method of quantifying material in the sample by using the device. The sample material for measuring can be quantified by the measuring device of this invention, which is consists pretreatment bands in the lower part of porous membrane substrate and electrodes in the upper prt of pretreatment bands, by the procedure as foolows: The sample material for measuring is chromatographically migrated in the porous membrane substrate by applying the sample on the lower part of the porous membrane substrate; and then the changes of electric signal by the material at the electrode are measured to quantify the material.
Abstract: There is provided an ozonizer with an ozonizer element which has a columnar shaft body, a positive electrode of a platinum net plate which is fitted around an outer surface of the columnar shaft body, an ion exchange membrane fitted around the positive electrode, and a negative electrode of a metal net fitted around the ion exchange membrane. The positive electrode is intermittently wound around the columnar shaft body with a predetermined axial interval or otherwise an intermittent insulator is provided in an axial direction between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The ozonizer has a tubular passage for permitting water to flow therethrough and housing therein the ozonizer element such that an axis of the ozonizer lies in the flowing direction of the water. Further the ozonizer has a device for applying DC voltage between the positive electrode and the negative electrode so that a discharge portion and non-discharge portion are alternately located in the water flowing direction.

Abstract: A process for producing a stick-like implement, having a first sleeve, having a second sleeve with an insertion section for insertion into the first sleeve, it being possible for the two sleeves to be rotated with respect to one another in the inserted state, having an externally threaded element which is coupled to the second sleeve in a rotationally fixed but axially displaceable manner and is designed to mesh with an internally threaded element which is coupled to the first sleeve in a rotationally fixed manner, with the result that rotation of the two sleeves with respect to one another results in axial displacement of the externally threaded element in relation to the sleeves, and having a filler element which, in the case of corresponding axial displacement of the externally threaded element on account of rotation of the two sleeves with respect to one another, is pushed out of a sleeve opening.

Abstract: A process for forming an oxidation and corrosion resistant coating on selective surfaces of an airfoil providing a chamber having an external wall which receives a hollow sleeve for defining an internal space and an annular space between the external wall and sleeve. The airfoil to be coated is located within the internal space. An activator is provided in the internal space below the airfoil. The chemical coating composition is located in the annular space. The chamber is closed and heated to a desired temperature for a sufficient time to coat selective surfaces of the airfoil with the coated composition.

Abstract: A drinking water dispenser according to the present invention functions to supply drinking water from a detachable water container. The drinking water dispenser includes a hot water tank, a chilled water tank, a supply pipe and a sterilization system. The hot water tank heats and stores the drinking water supplied from the water container. The supply pipe connects the water container with the hot water tank and the chilled water tank. The sterilization system sterilizes the tanks and the supply pipe by circulating hot water from the hot water tank among them. The dispenser is also sterilized because of its including a special 3 way connector between the detachable container and tanks which allows connector and container to be housed in a refrigerator, thus separating critical system components from warmer outside air and thus suppressing invasion and growth of microbes.
Abstract: A rifle has a barrel which is mounted detachably in the housing in that pairs of clamping rings (11, 12) are provided between the rear part of the barrel (5) and the inner cylindrical surface (3) of the housing (1), which clamping rings (11, 12) have mutually facing conical surfaces and are pressed axially by a clamping nut (13) against a collar (7) on the barrel (5). Such a barrel mounting can also be used for a housing made of light alloy, with simple production and with production-dependent tolerances and alignment errors being eliminated.
Abstract: Described is an apparatus for the production of transversely ribbed tubes, having mold jaw halves which bear against each other along a common mold section with front faces and form therebetween a mold passage. Each mold jaw half has vacuum passages which are in flow communication with the mold passage. Each mold jaw half also has a cooling passage (22). The front faces of the mold jaw halves are formed with vacuum communication channels which, along the common mold section, form vacuum communication passages. The vacuum communication passages are in flow communication with a stationary vacuum rail, along the common mold section of the apparatus. Along the common mold section, the cooling passages of the mold jaw halves are in fluid communication with a stationary cooling agent rail which has a cooling agent feed means and a cooling agent discharge means.
Abstract: A method of providing domestic animals with liquid food which passes from a storage tank, in particular a mixing tank of an automatic drinker via a suction line to a suckling point, the quantity of liquid food removed is to be determined ahead of the suckling point.
Abstract: A device for locking and unlocking two mechanical members (2, 3) coupled for rotation as a unit (1) by means of a splined coupling (30, 33), comprises an elastic means (36) secured to the first member (2) and adapted for co-operation with the second member (3). The elastic means (36) is comprised of a bistable elastic element (36) having first (50) and second (52) alternative steady positions. The bistable elastic element is provided with hooking means (46, 48) adapted for co-operating in the first steady position (50) with the second member (3) to keep the members (2, 3) axially coupled, and for disengaging in the second steady (52) from the second member (3) to allow separation of the members (2, 3) forming the coupled unit (1).

Abstract: A substrate with an organic undercoat as bonding layer for a printing medium to be deposited subsequently on the substrate in a printing process is such that the organic undercoat contains fine grained constituents of organic and/or inorganic substances, whereby the surface of the inorganic constituents is treated or provided with a coating of organic substances. Suitable inorganic constituents are e.g. highly dispersed silica, the surface of which is treated with a resin or a polymer. Suitable compositions for the organic undercoat layer on the substrate are organic coatings based on many commercially available organic coating materials with an addition of e.g. 0.3 to 20 wt. % silica. By adding highly dispersed silica to the undercoat the adhesion between the undercoat and the printing medium can be greatly improved, also in the case of laser printing methods with small thermal energy.
