Abstract: A method for automatically calibrating the control system of a device for providing domestic animals with a feed. The feed or the constituents thereof are discharged from supply containers (2.1-2.5) into a mixing container (1) which is connected to an area (3) from which the animals can take the feed. The time at which the feed or at least one of its constituents is added is predetermined in the control system and the time required for a certain quantity (volume and/or weight) of the feed or of a certain constituent of the feed to reach the mixing container (1) is determined automatically at intervals. In the event that the desired quantity is modified, the time which is predetermined in the control system is also modified.
Abstract: An interactive method for on-line selection of an air conditioning product includes the steps of providing a database storing a plurality of air conditioning product identifiers and at least one corresponding product characteristic; interactively obtaining intended use information from a consumer for a desired air conditioning product; equating the intended use information with an intended use product characteristic; identifying a suitable product having the at least one product characteristic meeting the intended use product characteristic; and identifying the suitable product to the consumer.

Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring a freight container are provided. The method includes the steps of generating a resonant spectrum representative of an initial condition of internal surfaces and contents of the freight container, and saving the resonant spectrum for future comparison purposes. The method further includes generating a second resonant spectrum and comparing the second resonant spectrum with the initial resonant spectrum to determine whether there has been any tampering with the freight container. The method also includes identifying the contents of the freight container and generating loading diagrams of the contents and using polarity configuration characteristics of the internal surfaces of said freight container to determine whether the contents have moved or been shifted during transport.
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for cleaning a surface within a vessel. A vessel wall separates a vessel exterior from a vessel interior and has a wall aperture. An elongate conduit has an upstream first and a downstream second end and is positioned to direct a shock wave from the second end into the vessel interior. A source of fuel and oxidizer is coupled to the conduit to deliver the fuel an oxidizer to the conduit. An initiator is positioned to initiate a reaction of the fuel and oxidizer to produce the shock wave within the conduit for generating the shock wave. A source of purge gas is positioned to introduce the purge gas to the conduit to drive reaction products of the fuel and oxidizer downstream.
Abstract: The present invention relates to carbohydrate-specific peptides, which have a strong affinity and preparation method thereof. Particularly, the present invention relates to carbohydrate-specific peptides, which have been developed to have an increased strong affinity to carbohydrates by the multiple combinations of peptides having carbohydrates-specific amino acid sequences and preparation method thereof. Carbohydrate-specific peptides of the present invention have a very strong affinity under micromol, so that they can shut off recognition between cells transferred by specific carbohydrates, which means they can be used for the treatment of diseases mediated by recognition between cells and used as a diagnostic kit which diagnoses diseases by confirming the existence of any specific carbohydrate.
